As an absolute beginner, your videos are the best I've found by far. The presentation and the pace aren't overwhelming so I don't give up, and I love your neutral singing because I know what the melody sounds like; my brain is trying to focus on the uke chords underneath it!

I need to say this: Thank you!! Thank you so much!!!! I finally managed to really play a full song on my ukulele (riptide) and sing to it. The chords weren´t my problem, but the strumming and picking. You´ve got such a great and fun way to of explaining that practising really is fun now. Can´t wait to learn my next song (this one) and maybe on day finally "i will wait" by mumford and sons. Thank you!!!!

aylin yavash Hi Aylin - You can get songsheets etc. in a fully-indexed PDF songbook (updated monthly) by supporting me on www.patreon.com/UkeTeacher! Alternatively, you can wade through my Facebook page, as almost all of the songsheets are on there *somewhere*!

I played the same picking pattern but differently; I had the thumb and 1st finger plucking the 1st and 4th string, and then the 1st finger plucks the 2nd string and the thumb plays the third string. T&1 play 1&4 1 plays 2 T plays 3

only started learning the ukulele yesterday and you are already my fave teacher, your videos are so easy to follow with clear instructions and i had fun learning this song, not quite aced it yet, but i got the intro and verse down :) any tips on how i can improve my strumming patterns technique? cause sometimes where i need to strum up i strum down or even add extra downs and so i have a bad habit of just strumming up and down throughout the songs :/
@TheUkuleleTeacher10 жыл бұрын
Firstly, thanks for the kind comment, much appreciated! In terms of playing the correct strumming pattern, my advice is: don't worry about it! I'm not trying to be glib, but people get *way* too hung up on playing the exact strum pattern they've learnt, and they're not feeling the music. As long as you're playing in time and having fun it doesn't matter a jot if you played an up or a downstroke! That said, the more you practice, the better you'll become! Anyway, good luck and have fun with the uke 😃👍
@TheFullMoonJunkie10 жыл бұрын
you are very welcome! :) and thank you so much, now i can enjoy learning without stressing over the strumming :D
