I always wondered how the tarnished can cure scarlet rot so easy but so many others(including demi-gods) can't and what they got up to when I wasn't playing and at least I found out the latter

They can cure it because they have the infection not the desease. Its different

Look at death blight for example, that kills instantly when the bar fills meaning when the infection turns to the disease. So, once the bar is full and we start suffering from scarlet rot, we definitely do have the disease and preserving boluses work just as well as when we were just infected

But I have a theory that those who got the rot from malenia herself cant cure it. For example millicent or radahn. Or it is because they got it from the outer god while we get it threw indirect means. Although that would be opposed by us being able to cure it when phase 2 malenia applys it. It was in fact just a theory..... A GAME THEORY
