It sounds very different from a QPAS. Just because they both process 2 channels doesn't mean they are anything alike. Check out the video from Divkid to listen what the QPAS can do.

Mine just arrived in the mail from Thonk, ordered a mere 8 days ago! I'm in Western Australia, that's crazy fast. Safe to say this excellent vid was the clincher in that decision, just a no-brainer really. It's as much an effect as it is a shaping control. So along with the new 4MS Looping Delay and Sampler kits the outlook for the rest today looks to be cloudy with a chance of chicken blisters. Thanks so much for all your great vids. They're just great performances, the Plaits series in particular are just fat sounds to have on while I'm chilling at home. Brill.

At 2:30, it sounds like there is quite a wide stereo field. That's not the filter, right? That width is in whatever you're feeding it?

What caused the radical change in sound from @4:28 to @4:30? I see you pressed a key on the controller with your index finger, but what exactly caused the sound to change from a buzz to a quacky?
@TheUnperson2 жыл бұрын
I think it was just bringing the cutoff frequency further down, rolling off the high end but with some modulation coming in from maths :)
@el_daniАй бұрын
it was a key change on the OP-1 keyboard

How do you rhythm-sync the OP-1 and your modular / Pam's? Do you just do it by hand? - Thank you for your great videos!

thanks! Yea I'm just pressing play simultaneously. Would be cool if I could sync them somehow but haven't sussed it yet...

@@TheUnperson @///// Familiar Unknown ///// Don't know if you are interested, but I have found 2 ways. One is to use a usb midi host (kenton in my case) and a midi to cv module (befaco midi host in my case). This is of course both expensive and and takes up case space. Something I've found that works and is a bit more rough and easy is to set the OP-1 in pocket operator sync mode and have a stereo trs to dual mono trs (or ts + adapters). Then you get a click track in one channel and mono audio in the other. I then send the click track to a comparator which then creates eurorack gates from the click track, i.e. a clock. I've used a tripfire audio comparator and gate delay for this, but I would also think the comparator algorithm on something like disting mk 4 would work (or any comparator, maybe there even is a Maths patch, I dunno mats so well). Same trick works for pocket operators.

@@nielshulgard3722 cheers for that man! It’s surprisingly complicated thing to do haha!

@@TheUnperson you're welcome! Yeah, it really is a quirk of the OP-1 that it syncs poorly with other things

I don't have this module (yet), but I think a direct comparison with the QPAS is unfair. That module can do so many things that, on paper, I don't see happening with the Dual Dagger
@TheUnperson Жыл бұрын
I think it’s fair! They’re both stereo filters, and both great modules, but ultimately the extra features of QPAS don’t outweigh the features of the Dual Dagger, for me.
@mindrobber19623 жыл бұрын
my dual dagger seem to loose volume on the low pass filter side as you turn up the resonance. Do you have that issue?
@TheUnperson3 жыл бұрын
Yea mine does that too. This happens with most analogue filters. I had a moog sub37 and it was exactly the same thing.
@TheCheeriosMan3 жыл бұрын
Just wondering how you’re bringing the audio in from the OP-1? Seems like a sweet pico module. Great tones! I was sold on the WMD C4rbn but then this has me wondering if this filter would be better suited. Different feature set for sure.
@TheUnperson3 жыл бұрын
Hi Justin. I'm using the pico Input module to bring the level of the OP1 up. It is not essential to have this module but it does help in some situations :)
