Throughout the Second World War, there were many women who were executed by the Germans. One of those was a teenage girl named Masha Bruskina who was just 17 when she went to her execution in her home city of Minsk. She had been a member of Communist youth groups, but as WW2 erupted on the Eastern Front following Operation Barbarossa, Bruskina became involved in resistance groups.
She worked in a prison hospital trying to break Soviet soldiers out of prison, but was betrayed and she was then tortured by the German Army. Following this she was condemned to death, and she was paraded throughout the streets of Minsk in front of hundreds before she was executed in public. It was a horrific execution.

Hardly, this was a pitiless regime, and those perpetrators will be long dead. At Nuremberg, Churchil wanted all the top and junior Nazis hung, but the USA had different ideas, so many that returned to Gernay were tries by a German court that issued lenient sentences from months to a few years, on release they returned to work at their usual jobs, in the police, army banks etc,.......disgustingly unfair.

Seldom do "Messages", attempting to be sent by mass-murdering filth, have the desired effect. Instead, those meant to be a message for evil, wind up being the POWER, for good- even if the "good", eventually turns evil itself- Because History? has a funny way of repeating itself, even when the face of evil, morphs & evolves. This is what people always fail to realize: Evil can be found in the face of ANY & EVERY person. Just as we all bleed red, we also all have a dark, and a light, inside of us. We must CHOOSE which to follow.

Sorry, but she was not slaughtered, she was just hung. The message she wore around her neck informed, that she was a partisan and shot on German soldiers, no emphasize was stressed on this here.. As to international war conventions, partisans fighting in civilian gear are not protected at all, moreover, they are even considdred war criminals. There was no army in WWII, that wouldn't execute a partisan having shot at their own sloldiers. I believe every patriot has to fight for his country, regardless what country he fights for, BUT in uniform and not in civilian gear, which is nothing but a cowardly act. If Things get rough, they can easily hide among innocent civilianns and expose them to danger. I lift my hat for everyone in any nation who fought for his country, but combattants in civilian gear are criminals, as to every war convention. Does anyone here seriously believe the western allies did not put civilian combattants before a firing squad? No, I'm not against western allies of WWII, but I have no illusion which combattants deserve respect and which don't. Reading the comments here, I know what to expect now. Go ahead, you can now verbally lapidate me if you wish...

@@vladislavfeldman6562 There are no rules? Then they shouldn't expect mercy. Thats what you say. So why do war-conventions signed by almost every nation exist? International conventions don't make any exceptions. Didn't the Russians kill the Polish elite in the woods of Katyn? Look how the Russians care about conventions in the war with the Ukraine today. Butcha is the best example. I remember German youngsters shot by the Russian army, because they believed (without any evidence) these boys were used to knock out Rusian tanks as members of the Werwolf. But contrary to this woman here, they even fought in uniform, which proofed they adhered to international conventions..

Interesting facts but I find the narrator very irritating to listen to. Why does he read like poetry and drag out the ends of his words at the end of each line including when breaking up sentences. I find it impossible to listen to for long. Want to slap him and say "stop doing that". Just speak properly - forget the sssshhhh's on the end of the last words of each breath! Ouch, interesting but painful to listen to.

A civillian who takes up arms, or gets involved in any resistance activities, hos no protections under the Geneva Convention. The English and Amerivans likewise executed Germans for similar and lesser activities. It is not a War Crime and entirely legal to execute Resistance members under international law. There ate no minimum standard for custody, no protections from interrogation and torture, no minimum standards as to what a trial is. The Geneva convention only protects Uniformed soldiers of National Armed Forses. Emergency last ditch grab civillians slap an arm band on them, if captured have no protections at all. This is a 17 yr old girl. The allies shot children as young as 10 doing the same thing in Germany. Misguided children allowed to forfiet their young lives at the behest if adults. In my humble opinion, if you want a war criminal, there they are. Thos that allowed children, facilitated them, to become part of the resistance, and have their lives forfiet. Even had the executioner of this girl been found and tried for this one execymtion, it is entirely legal under the Geneva Convetion. That document is one that should be taught in all schools

A true patriot who loved her country and was an inspiration for others who fought the Nazis. It was brave people like her that sacrificed themselves for the cause and a large part of the reason the Russians wreaked vengeance on the people of Berlin. Much has been said of the number of German women raped by the Russians but during the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union, the German soldiers raped as many or more Russian women. Sorry...not much sympathy here. Nazi's killing communists...communists killing Nazi's. Who cares? Both groups were murderers. The maker of this video creates a simplistic narrative to turn this incident into a morality play in the eyes of the typically ignorant viewer. It wasn't until June of 1941 that Germany and the Soviet Union were enemies. For almost two years before that, the Soviet Union was an important ally of the Nazis, helping them invade Poland in 1939 (which started the war), engineering some of their war machines and providing them with huge amounts of raw materials. She was executed just a few months after the Soviets ended their alliance with the Nazis. Before that parting of ways, Masha's beloved "heroes" in the Soviet Union were in league with the Nazis.

Hate to disagree with you...But what the Red Army did to the German Women in Berlin was far worse. I lost many Family members to the occupying Russians. Many women were raped, tortured and killed. Some say it was revenge for what German soldiers did to Russian women....But two wrongs don't make it right. My Mutti & Omi told me plenty of horror stories of unimaginable atrocities perpetrated on young German girls (some as young as 8, that they personally knew of & witnessed). I know that "War is Hell"... and there are evil participants on both sides of every war... But there are also some good soldiers, with a moral conscience.

Hate to disagree with you, but the Germans did much worse things to the Soviets than anything the Soviets did in occupied Germany, and, more importantly, the Germans planned to carry out a war of total extermination of the Soviet population, and resettlement of these territories with Germans. I’m sorry, but the Soviets had every right to do the same to the Germans - the fact that they didn’t, and that you are alive, shows an extraordinary, infinite mercy that the Germans did not deserve.

@@AnnaJuist я удивляюсь, как после всего этого вообще хоть один немец остался жив! В Белоруссии немцы убили 2/3 населения!!!! Так что вы должны понимать с каким настроением русские солдаты пришли в Германию!

hundred thousands of germans civilians old and young, women and children were paying for this. rolled over by soviet tanks in their refugee trecks, gang raped by soviet soldiers. it shall never be forgotten that some soviets were not less cruel as some germans.

This very case happened in accordance with international rules (Hague Conventions of 1899 and 1907). Many others didn´t, on both sides. Btw: What about the war crimes committed by the winners...?? So these countries should not be shamed for their crimes, only beause of having won the war? Odd.
