Have deep admiration for Kaushiki, hands down, perhaps the best singer in the current Era. A small correction, Kaushiki, Tamil cuisine also makes use of plantain flowers and even the inner bark. All over India, traditional cuisine use plant, leaves, fruits, stem, bark and etc...meaning nothing is wasted

Enjoyed, very honestly the way she described is absolutely the bengali tradition of food culture on a daily basis. I think Musterd Hilsha curry and Mutton curry or Mutton kosha are missing in the table, Even the cooking of egg curry has its individual style too. At our home egg curry is a common dish once a week. Lovely.

I don't know. I like kaushikiji's singing. But, if she's eating non vegetarian food, even fish, I don't know how I will be able to listen to her singing any Hindu god songs. That's just me and my principles because I believe that our "bhagawan" is totally pure and when anyone sings or plays an art form like our "Shastriya Sangeet" one should try offer it with as much purity both from inside and outside as much as possible because it's almost equal to doing pooja in my opinion. Of course, this is just my humble opinion. 🙏🙏🙏

@im. Okay thanx so much. I am a student of Hindustani classical vocal. And the gharanas I am focused on learning are mehwathi, gwalior, Jaipur-Atrauli and Kirana. Both pundit jasraj( mehwathi gharana) and pundit bhimsen Joshi( Kirana gharana) were vegetarian although pundit bhimsen Joshi used to drink alcohol but later on, he gave that up. And I definitely focus on styles of ganathapaswini Mogubai kurdikar ( mother of Ganasaraswathi Kishori Amonkar) Ganasaraswathi Kishori Amonkar, and her lineage, pundita ashwini bhide dheshpande and shruthi sadolikar khatkar of Jaipur-Atrauli gharana and pundita veena sahasrabhuddhe of gwalior gharana. Most of these female artists WERE and ARE vegetarian. It's just an opinion that's all. My heart and conscious won't allow it, if I were to consume any form of non vegetarian food and then sing about a hindu god or hindu goddess.
