GS: Dark Dawn - Crossbone Isle / Dullahan / Iris Summon Tablet

This is it, the final sidequest and final superboss of the game: Dullahan.
Just like in GS:TLA, Dullahan is the toughest boss in the game. I used all summons this time because it only took me 4 turns to defeat the boss as compared to maybe 20 or 30 turns. I strongly suggest you summon rush because he will use Djinn Storm on you anyway rendering all of your djinn useless.
Dullahan will use your standby djinn to summon against you so use your summons ASAP. He also uses the powerful Fromina Sage, which usually OHKOs one person. Djinn Storm, again, is pretty bad but it didn't affect me this time since most of my characters were dead anyway. As for Charon... just be sure luck is on your side. Dullahan will tell you if he's going to use Charon next, just watch for his "Element Swap" which is an indication of that.

Oh my gosh! I was just randomly searching for GSDD and I saw this video and I was like "OMG! that's right the Japanese version was released on Oct. 28 (i think) but i didn't know they uploaded gameplay videos yet!" and so I watched this and I really just want to fly to Japan and buy this game instead of waiting 10 more days, even though I already pre-ordered it. thanks for uploading this.

I beat him last night (last thing I needed to do in this game). I was all early 50s and dropped all my summons one on top of each other and was doing anywhere between 1.5k to 3.2k damage. I got lucky at the end, only Karis and Eoleo were left with barely 100 hp left lol. Dullahan, the nightmares you have always brought!

Oh my God, I am so pumped for this game, it's unbelievable. I remember grinding the hell out of my characters until I could beat Dullahan in 3 turns, shit was so cash :D

Before watching this video, I engaged in a long hard battle with Dullhan with only Eclipse as a summon and all my djinn set. This helped a lot.

I took me four tries to beat this, heck of a boss. I used a defensive/offensive type of strategy, using Djinn such as Chasm, Bark, Shell, and any other Djinn that would be very useful. In the long run, I was down to Matthew and Sveta. Sveta used Atalana, and Mat used Judgment, which was the finishing blow (halleujah!). It took me about 45 minutes (lots of thinking). I never thought about the strategy that you've displayed here, though I wouldn't attempt at defeating him so quickly.

one thing is for sure, Daedalus final missile´s explosion is much more intense than in GS2.

I bless Daedalus! I was about to die, for only Eoleo (Lv. 61) was alive with around 300 hp and Daedalus' giant missile defeated Dullahan!

@sumerian88 For the Curses and Haunts, I used one of Rief's status recovery Djinn's to wipe them off when I had the time to. After around 3 or 4 turns, in a cyclical way, I made Eoleo retreat with the quick Djinn recovery Djinn, then brought him back after Djinn Storm to help the party recover faster. Luckily, he tanked quite a few Fulminous Edge's from Dullahan that could have 1HKO all of the other weakened party members. So I was lucky with Dullahan's targeting. 0_o

@sumerian88 And a Himi boosted Matthew dealt around 600 to 1000 damage depending on unleashes. These damage indicators were with around 5-6-7 Active Djinns. On all reset Djinns after Djinn Storm, needless to say this Damage fell to around 100 damage, hence the importance of the quick Djinn recover Djinn from Eoleo. Tyrell was brought out a few times when Sveta was too weak and when Eoleo had to be brought back into Team 2 while waiting for Djinn Storm.

@zwright94 Yeah, Dardalus has a late missile that hits a turn after. The only requirement is that at least one person from when it was summon is there or the late missile will not hit, resulting in only the beginning damage.

@sumerian88 Overall Rief and Karis' roles were to heal and resurect (with Water of Life) the group as best as they could. I alternated between the two when I felt it was needed. As for Dark Contact (well the way it was called in GS2), I managed to overdamage the healing he obtained with it. Depending on his targetting, he obtained 400 (2 characters targetted) to 600 (3 characters targetted) life each time he used it. A Himi boosted Sveta in Beast Form dealt 750 dmg average.

I beat him yesterday at 6AM after a one hour battle, WITHOUT SUMMON RUSHING at average level 66 with my two groups. I used Himi to boost Sveta's, Matthew's, Tyrell's and Eoleo's Attack Damage. When Dullahan used Break, I did my best to renew the boost on these characters. Needless to say I had quite a few deaths, Charon draining one or two characters each time. I used Water of Life to ressurect the downed characters. For Djinn Storm, I kept Eoleo back with his quick Djinn recovery Djinn.

He takes half a dozen salvos of missiles, a giant ball of energy, two demons with huge axes, and a direct hit from four nukes... AND STILL HE DOES NOT DIE.

@sumerian88 So that's pretty much the overall strategy I used to defeat him. I used Moloch once, only summon in the battle, due to some used Djinn I had nothing to do with. Sveta, Matthew, Tyrell were the main nukers. Eoleo secondary nuker and Djinn recovery backup character. Amiti was a secondary nuker early in the battle, but I got him in the backteam. Himi, nuke damage booster, resurector (ocasionally). Rief and Karis were the main healers, resurectors (Water of Life) and status recoverers.

@EzioAuditore0103 i believe you just go into the island with a swirl (that volcano one you find one of the dark armor pieces in) and use the Sol Blade to unlock the door on the B1F. then just fight a battle with five trolls ranging from one turn's worth of combos to fighting for your life. You get the summoning afterwards. Its called Deadelus i believe.

@sumerian88 Oh, last detail. Although Eoleo tanked quite a few Fulminous Edge's after Djinn Storm, Himi died 3-4 times from it when she was targetted. I resurected her ASAP with Water of Life (Eoleo had some too). As for Condemn, it was used around 3 or 4 times, it killed Sveta once only, was not effective the other times.

using "summon rushing" isn't cheating neither unloyal or unofficial way to defeat Dullahan, is an original, previously planned, different way of defeating a very difficult boss like him (at the point you think HE is the real cheater) thumbs up if you support SUMMON RUSHERS for this boss

@SuperDigital3 Yes, it does! The whole checkpoint idea was one of the couple things I hated about this game. It is so restricting, not being able to go back to a previous point! Imagine in TLA if you couldn't go back! That whole enormous space of the world, and you can't go back on the land masses. Is there anything you didn't like about the game?

Rofl this is almost like how I killed Dullahan. 1st party - Matthew, Karis, Sveta, Himi (Fastest characters), set all Venus and Mars Djinns on them. [Keep Jupiter Djinn Lull on whoever is slowest out of these 4] Second part - Tyrell, Rei, Eoleon, Amiti (Tankier characters), set all Mercury and Jupiter Djinns. Summon 3 Daedalus 1st turn and use Lull to skip Dullahan's turn. :D 2nd turn, summon another Daedalus and highest summons you can. Let first party die then summon 3 Eclipse. You win.

@EzioAuditore0103 dont hold me to this, but i think you find Deadelus in an island surrounded by rocks that you get into through using Seek on it and swimming into the tornado. You will need the Sol blade to get in, and once you do, you have to fight a bunch of trolls/ogres of varying difficulties, from one turn's worth of combos to fighting for your life. might be thinking of a different summon though.

my team was 3 samurai at level 60 and rief as a healer just with merkur djinns at level 57. the other four started the battle and summoned the hll out of dullahan. easy battle :D

I fought him normally for 2 hours and 30 minutes straight... It wasn't nice... I was able to almost predict some of his moves though xDD Apparently he uses Elemental Swap 1/2 turns before he uses Charon. Before he summons Charon he usually uses a Scythe. After that, he unleashes Charon, and then he uses the candle thing which makes you character die in a few turns (forgot what it was called >W>) and then he uses Djinn Storm. I was able to survive for that long that way @@ Sigh.

Well even in Lost Age I had Dullahan still survive 8 hi leveled summons in 2 turns that is if it doesn't open with Charon/Formina Sage/Dijinnin storm in turn that is.

i killed him on the first attempt My first party was Matthew/Tyrell/Himi/Eoleo and my second party was Karis/amiti/Sveta/rief I've set every djinn on standby, and then I summoned Judgement/meteor/judgement/meteor After that, Himi died and i repeated the summons After that, only Matthew was alive and i attacked him but he died before he attacked So now I had the second party and then repeat with the strongest summons Thor/boreas/Thor/boreas Then i defeated him, I was level 55-62

I feel this way is the true way to beat Dullahan, it's a challenge which needs patience and strategy, but which is extremely satisfying. Iris retains even more value as a reward for such a victory! @sandmonster00 Yes he is. I've been to many sites with many people saying he is impossible or very very difficult to beat. Personally I didnt think he was that hard. But, that just depends on the strategy you use and how effective it is against him. And, if he's so powerful, how come I beat him fairly easily and had an impossible time with the Doom Dragon?

I'm afraid the djinn are going to be more costly this time if you're not careful, in other words you may not get a second chance to capture some djinn. if you miss a few that are the ones then that's it they're gone forever. you'll have to start a new game to try again or with a guide.

Pfft, summon rushing is lame. It's fine to do it your first time, but for real bragging rights, fight him like a man, you've gotta go toe-to-toe with him. It's a much more satisfying victory as well.
