Golden Sun: Dark Dawn - Exploring Weyard + AR Codes in Description Box

I use some AR codes to travel around the world map.
Since in this game the player only get to explore one continent and the eastern sea. It's almost certain that we'll see Golden Sun 4 soon, given that Golden Sun: Dark Dawn sells well upon its release. Hopefully, the next game won't take 7 years to come out.

It was so small and compact and could play all Nintendo handheld games up to that point. 3DS is cool too, but it can only play DS games, and likewise the DS could play GBA games but not gameboy games...it seems like if they wanted to, they could have made both the DS and 3DS even play classic Gameboy Games.

Intresting video. How cool it was to see Venus and Mercury Lighthouses, though I guess there's no way of going back to places such as Belinsk or Kolima Forest after the Eclipse is there, other than hacking that is.. I believe I missed a summon tablet in Kolima Forest when you use a Dream Leaf, as so I've heard.

Yeah and possibly with the effects of Golden Sun, Weyard in genreal has... in a way looks to have expanded / broke and still hanging. Hesperia is quite away from Weyard, and Prox especially is on the edge and blocked by the ice. The movements / restoring, has probably stretched Hesperia further away. Same goes for the southern half below Gondowan. Lemuria in mean time has disappeared too @.@

o o i like that volcano. i havent played golden sun one, so it is probably mount aleph unless it not. i think camelot is gonna set the 3ds series based on those places and more of course, like the volcano, and the north pole that we barely got to do much in dd. the tuaparang tribe relations with alex will most likely be included and the mystery of the vortexes. o such adventure that i cant wait for on the 3ds. graphics will totally rule every single console that exists because they will be 4d!

by the looks of it i think that the game was never actually finished by the producers and had to be published cause it was taking too long to complete and so that the fans don't stay waiting for to come out at that time and for them to lose their fans.

I've actually been thinking this recently. The fact that you don't get to go to Kalay or Imil or Loho in this game, despite the fact that they're all in Angara, indicates the game wasn't really finished. Plus - although this always could have waited until a future game - you don't get to see any of the Warriors of Vale except Isaac and Garet, making the game seem unfinished in a way.

Plus, during the Grave Eclipse, you can't return to Morgal...couldn't Camelot have just shown the people of Belinsk, Border Town, Saha Town and Port Rago (as well as Isaac and Garet) hiding away from the monsters of the Eclipse inside buildings with plenty of torchlight to keep the monsters away? I mean, it wouldn't have been a plothole. It just looks as though Camelot rushed it cause they didn't have time or didn't have the enthusiasm so couldn't even place something as simple as that in the game. I would have been happy to wait another year or even two years for Dark Dawn if it meant the flaws I have mentioned were not there.

To believe that Weyard was made larger than the actual play area of the entirety of the game...Dark Dawn is good but It felt unfinished. Considering you're trapped in the Eastern Sea and only explore Angara other than a few interesting Islands. Not to mention only Venus Lighthouse and Mercury Lighthouse exist, Venus only seeable through hacking like in this video. Jupiter and Mars Lighthouse aren't there because the map doesn't expand to the northern region where Prox Is, and Jupiter is all the way on the Western Sea in Atteka.

@Chapterhappy I think that's more of a case of "The developers think of everything" than anything. They probably knew people would try to hack their way into the old areas and so they put the old locations on the map- just like in the second game.

@Shu512 Pretty epic :D But Dullahan in TLA was a pain in the ass, but in Dark Dawn he was pretty easy. I defeated him without troubles. But I just want more stuff to do after beating the game. Extra quests, extra boss battles (not 4) and more new places. Or, like in Dragon Quest, a Wifi service where you can download all kinds of stuff, like quests, dungeons and armor. That would make the best DS game ever :)

Golden sun is a passion, not being cringy about golden sun is a lidestyle but its a passion and i surely know that any one who played golden sun, its now their favourite game, man im eaiting for the golden sun 4 and i really want to know how it (maybe ends! Im a bit sad that tjey got the 2d graphics away and its on the DS not GBA. And you should be cautious with saving after having sunk into the wall. If you save at a place you can't leave like the town with the moon tower (don't know the word) your game will be stuck and you won't be able to leave this place without cheating. And if they would've made the final boss less hard, and they gave the Tua warriors less exp... I just want the next game to be more of a challenge. I played the entire game through, and it was fairly simple. Larger dungeons, harder puzzles and more post-game stuff, that would be awesome :)

Sorry, i cant really explain it in english. I'll try.. You go to the endless wall and walk untill you are near to the last level. Then you see a line on the ground. It's a grey line and you move on it untill your shadow disappears. Then you save the game and leave. If you enter it, your character will sink into the wall if you've done it right ^^ it looks funny and now you can walk on the mountains. If you enter an area like grass or something you won't be able to enter the mountains again.

@TheLastMyztery they won't need to since next time will be on 3ds and it has alot more capabilities than ds so they could put the totality of weyard and keep the old location of dark dawn without any issues. they could also polish the graphic, redesign some weapon unleashes and psynergy that turned out less impressive due to shift from 2D to 3D polygon. They should also forget the idea of point of no return in next game.

I used the walkthrough walls code to get a djinn in belinsk after the eclipse. Is there any possible way to leave belinsk now o_o;? no characters are at the boat to carry out the sailing cutscene and i cant leave via town entrance..

+red1gogo1 I think the most negative part of DD's story lies simply in how it's told, not in the story itself. It's told in such a way that points of no return (PONRS) are seemingly a necessity for avoiding plotholes - such as being able to return to Isaac and Garet and tell them all about the crazy stuff that's happened - in the game such that you are locked in one region of the continent of Angara at a time, unable to proceed to the next region until you complete your objectives in the current region...and then you're locked in the next region for a while once you get to it. I really think the story could have stayed the same as it is, with the player travelling to Morgal after completing the Konpa Ruins dungeon. They would have travelled to Morgal via Bilibin, but they could have explored Ei-Jei first, although it would have led to a dead end (unless, they could have completed the Ouroborous or Barai Temple dungeon before travelling to Morgal? Maybe.... ) There was really no need for that PONR after Konpa Ruins. Having a conversation with Isaac and Garet after speaking with Blados and Alex in the cave wouldn't necessarily have been plot-breaking - it could have been a suggestive but inconclusive cutscene. So the basic idea is that Camelot didn't have to geographically restrict the player to certain parts of Angara to tell the story. I think with a few optional cutscenes, plotholes could have been avoided even without conclusive cutscenes regarding mysterious topics such as the identities and aims of the Tuaparang, etc. I think it would have been beneficial to the gameplay and storytelling fluency for the player to have been able to complete objectives and explore more or less in the order they preffered - such as in GS1 after Lamakan Desert; and in GS2 when you can choose between climbing Air's Rock first, or apprehending Briggs in Alhafra first. This also may have added replay value to DD due to players wanting to explore places and complete objectives in different orders.

This game was good and all, but whoever came up with that point of no return needs to be jack-slapped. The fact that if you miss some Djinn before the Eclipse in Belinsk and can NEVER go back and get them is NOT COOL. :< If I'm not mistaken, there's another point of no return earlier in the game where we see Blados for the 1st time. (I can't remember the name of the mountains, it's where they tie Reif up and send Kraden to the north exit and Matthew & party to the south).

Maybe we'll be able to explore it next game. plus codings for the mercury and venus lighthouses... suspicious? i think so. Why did they model all of this with no intention of using it? I remember this game really sucks compared to the first two... but I'm almost done with GS and TLA... I think I may do another play through for the first time since 2010 and get heartbroken at the "ending" ...

who would've thought that matthew would walk on water like jesus, btw how can you go to the venus lighthouse here wo cheats? and has anyone been able to find a transfer code for this game, it obvious that there will be a fourth game and I'm hoping for a transfer method like the first two game since this one might have one as well for its sequel.

Theres one flaw in the game - They put so much effort in creating land that was beyond reachable (without codes) which used a lot of space in the game - instead they could have added more content and made it better than it already is Try that for next time :D
