I could cry right now, seriously I am so happy I watched this! I have spent HOURS upon DAYS trying to figure out the workflow to go from procreate to illustrator with sketches! The illusive Vector image from designs I want to keep the edges rough and be able to color everything in separate layers!!! OMG, thank you from the bottom of my heart! As soon as I graduate from school I will buy something on your website!

Great video thanks! I’m old school and have been separating colors to layers in photoshop > Image/trace/expand in Illustrator (but much the same was you did here.) I always felt the ipad wouldn’t offer me the tools and flexibility I’ve been using for years !but you proved me wrong and gave me a flexible tool always from my computer. Guess this old dog can still learn some new tricks! Always appreciative when artists share their tips/shortcuts - especially with the technology changing so quickly.

this is the most helpful video i've ever seen!! literally been looking for a way to do this for like 9 months, and it works like a charm! i used your method but used Affinity Designer instead of Illustrator, and it worked like a charm. thank you so much!!

That is so awesome! I am also using Affinity Designer on Macbook Air, and the software feels so nice and refreshing. I want to get an iPad as soon as possible, because creating complex vector illustration on laptop with mouse, is soo time consuming, This seems to be a great process, Just one thing, can you also do isometric illustrations in the same process?
@andemmet66462 жыл бұрын
Hey! Did you need to use Adobe Capture? Or is there an Affinity Product that you used instead? I have Affinity Publisher, but not Designer nor Adobe Capture.
@subhradipsaha95182 жыл бұрын
@@andemmet6646 I am not exactly sure how to answer your question. But what I do, is use adobe scan, or simply take a photograph with phone, Airdrop to laptop, and use that photograph as BG, to create vectors, I don't think this is a professional solution, but it works for me :))) Also, I do think you need Affinity Designer to work on vectors, Although Affinity is awesome, but there are few specific actions, that you can do in only one of their softwares, For example, I was editing a photo on Affinity Photo, and just wanted to try glass morphism effect. I created two shapes and just wanted to subtract one from the other, and I couldn't find an option for that, So I had to save file and then open it in Affinity Designer to do that, Same happened when I wanted to add stylised texts in Affinity Designer, I wanted to add texts around a picture/ illustration, and I wanted to them to adjust automatically, But for that, I had to use Publisher, But these are very minor issues, and in such a huge software, doing so many stuff, it's understandable to overlook, hope they get the time to fix it, Also, I think Adobe softwares are pretty seamless. like they support most features throughout, and that is pretty neat, But I don't think Adobe Indesign can be used to create vectors either, I might be wrong In conclusion, Yes, you need Affinity Designer to create vectors Thanks for reading, Hope this helped :))

This is amazing, because the Illustrator iPad doesn’t allow you to merge/flatten strokes in a good/ easy way, so having the whole drawing basically as one is perfect for outlines!
