Great video as always! Just want to add that if anyone has EAPlay or Game Pass Ultimate on a newer Xbox it seems that EA are keeping all three up on the service currently; I guess until servers go down. So it isn’t too late to play yet!

Man my first Battlefield was Bad Company back in '08 than my second one was 1943. Both have made me a huge fan of BF since and will always hold out hope for a 3rd BC game. I love that you covered BC and 1943, keep up the fantastic work 'Vadam

My fond memory has to do with how I spent many years thinking my first entry to the Battlefield franchise was Bad Company 2, when it actually was Battlefield 2 (2005). At a cyber cafe, at a friend's house... my brain fails to remember where it happened, but I back then I discovered a game that happened to be one of the coolest fps games I ever saw, even though it was short timed. Forgot it's name, but didn't forget the fact that it felt amazing. Years later, in 2010, I was gifted an x360. My father blindly bought a game for himself called Battlefield: Bad Company 2 which I also ended up enjoying a lot. Some time later, I started seeing trailers from the upcoming Battlefield 3 everywhere and one day decided to check how the other games of the franchise were. After checking some gameplays... I was so surprised to find out, that one old game that amazed me years ago was actually a Battlefield game.

I have so many memories with 1943 and BC2 MP! (One of my favoriets being the time my friend kept getting snipped and I kept reviving him.) I even got every achievement for 1943!

Didn't get to play these games during their heydays, as I didn't have xbox live back then. But I still spent ages messing around in Bad Companies story mode.

I remember how hard it was to fly helis in this. Any team that got a good helicopter pilot was at a huge advantage.

I always enjoy your videos my fine mandible'd friend! We have a strikingly similar taste in FPS as I too was a tad addicted to BC1 and 1943, and played hours of BC2! Of the 3 I definitely favor BC1 as 1943 was flavorful but felt...repetitive and watered down (a fair trade off for the price point but still a valid complaint). You pointed out most of the issues I have with the sequel, *espcially* on the campaign front: the entire story had all the heart and soul that made the first game so memorable just ripped out; I have always preferred the first entry in the Bad Company series for this reason. I may be an outlier but I even feel many of the MP changes from 1-2 felt were negatives: I preferred the more distinct class choices over the more homogenized and CoD-like loadouts of 2, the slower ttk (personal preference that favors accuracy), and above all the goofy atmosphere. Regardless, I have many fond memories, so thanks for reminding me of them :)

I played BC1 and BC2 back in 2018-2019 and the fact of the matter is, although looking contrary to this video, all three of these games have been dead for years. BC1 had nobody on their servers for at least five years, 1943 I’m not too sure; I think my friend in 2019 said it was still active, and BC2 you could get about a 8-10 player server at times back in 20(18-19) but most likely soon died off. The fact is that the whole reason Vadam was able to find matches was because of the announcement of their shutdown and like him, the returned to an old beloved game of their childhood. Battlefield 3 back in 2020-2021 had about 3,300 active monthly users according to the BF3 Subreddit and I think around 11,000 monthly players active across all platforms, which was going to (or did) drop considerably around 2021 since Venice Unleashed was working on an upgraded BF3 system but idk what happened to it, ask Danny because he knows. Anyways, to bring back my point, these games weren’t dying, but dead. They all died about 4 years ago but are having a resurgence since the announcement. I just hope Dice releases a full Portal Game to preserve the multiplayer experiences of these games, as well as hoping that the BF3 Players (which are now mostly South Americans) continue to play on the servers to prevent the game from dying off as well.

2's campaign is less directly funny thought the dialog is still good, but the overall story jokes are more "Hey, we're doing a COD level, but you're going downhill instead of up!" The level where you had to stay warm on a mountain in a blizzard was absolutely amazing though.

It’s too bad that EA is going to shutdown the servers and delist these games (like what Epic Games is doing with Unreal). These idiots turn piracy into a moral obligation. I hope that somebody makes a mod for one of the Battlefield games that replaces the guns and vehicles with ones from Halo. That would be awesome. I personally think that a CoD or a Battlefield style game could work really well in Halo as long as it’s done right. Either approach would work super well as a UNSC vs Rebels/Insurrectionists conflict, or something set during the First Interplanetary War (if you look at the lore CoD Infinite Warfare and the Interplanetary War are basically the same conflict). If they had multiple campaigns/games set during these different events you’d be able to show that there were no true “good guys” or “bad guys” and that there was a lot of blood on both sides with some really nasty war crimes being committed/covered up. There’s a lot you could do with this. Thankfully Arma 3 mods are able to give us these.

I started with the BC1 demo as well and soon after bought the game. I was very disappointed in the campaign for BC2, they just sucked all the fun out of Haggard. It was clear thats when they were just trying to do what COD was doing with their campaigns, just battelfield was not good at copying them. BF3 campaign was alright, campaign in 4 was incredibly boring to me. Wish they stuck with the fun of BC1. But yeah my friends and I played an absurd amount of bc1 and 2 back on 360, sadly battlefield hasn't made rush very good since then and I'm really not a fan of conquest.
