I'm a Star Wars fan and a HUGE Trekkie. I grew up on Kirk, Spock, Bones, and Uhura. I was one of those angry skeptics when STNG first aired until the second season when the crew's chemistry gelled. I even went to a ST convention with Dorn and Spiner. I love Picard and the whole crew (Data too), and wish them all the best. BTW Frakes is HILARIOUS and such a sweetheart 🥰

These two clips and this interview, it literally had me smiling and at times tear up with some deep emotions about what this show, it’s characters, and the stories they tell mean. It’s like being at any convention but elevated so much more with Whoopi, Sunny, and Sara were in the interview seats. Well done to The View. Quite literally two of probably my most favorite View segments I have EVER seen. ❤

Totally forgot with a major player in the series! I love Star Trek & anything sci-fi. This segment felt like a real family reunion. Reminded me as a viewer enjoying quality entertainment that most of us forget how much hard work, talent and true passion it takes to find the perfect cast, script, camera crew and set designers to deliver a product that helps every human being on this planet enjoy a little bit of fantasy and respite from the daily grind. I took acting courses to help learn how to engage an audience when speaking as an entrepreneur at forums. It is was one of the hardest courses I’ve ever taken since you not only have to remember your lines, and to read and relate to the other performers, as well as to know which camera and angles to move through.

I was born just a few months before the original Star Trek aired, and I grew up on it with afternoon syndication. When The Next Generation was announced, I was not one of those Trek fans who was skeptical. My wife and I were very excited to see the new cast, the new setup, and enjoy the series. It is true that the first season was far from being the best, it was still enjoyable. When I was stationed overseas in 1990 and 91, my wife's family sent me VHS recordings of the show about once a month to watch in the barracks with my buddies. It was fantastic. I'm going to login to Paramount+ now to continue the journey.

4:50 Well, it is not true, that Roddenberry did not want conflict within the main cast. He wanted the main cast to not engage in petty conflict and destructive aggression. If it were about an issue and about how to solve it best, a constructive conflict of arguments without aggression, it was perfectly okay. Because the show was also a workplace show, with astronauts working in deep space. The astronauts on the ISS work for months together, and they keep a constructive, aggression free environment for all this time. Roddenberry wanted realism and believability (verbatim in his show bible for TNG), and the main cast should behave like astronauts would in reality on a deep space mission. And Roddenberry is not alone in this. Tom Hanks for example is also against conflict between the main characters, as he stated in an interview recently. Hanks, like Roddenberry, wants the main characters deal with an issue to solve a problem together - that is conflict enough.

Data was unique in his level of intelligence mirrored in my view in part to that of Mr. Spock . But I have to say this crew and cast were fantastic in keeping the series alive. I now subscribe to a great You Tube channel called ? Trek central it is great . I want to take a moment here to wish Whoopi and of course the entire cast of Star Trek TNG and of the series Picard ?
