Malachi 1:1-5
God’s people doubt His goodness and are skeptical of His kindness. They are relationally fractured, apathetic, and have turned their backs on Him. His message to them through the prophet Malachi is, “I have loved you.”
We exist to love God, love people, and make disciples of Jesus Christ.

Such a powerful message. Quick question though. I understand the point he is making….but is there a verse in Scripture that says the mountains run from Him? I’m talking about the 35 minute mark in this video.

I have a question...... If God is All-knowing and All-powerful and All-good...... Why would he create Satan with intent knowing that he would become the most evil entity in the Universe and put him on Earth to Deceive us? Then Blames us for being deceived? Thank you for any insight.

God created Satan as an angel and gave him free will, Satan chose to sin and betray God. The same is true in human beings, we have free will. Ultimately God forsees the future where believers will live in a perfect place (heaven) with God, which is what creation and everything is leading to and is why God designed it the way he did.

Also if we are deceived or tempted it is ultimately because of our own sinful desires. So ourselves alone our to blame when we sin against God. James 1:13-15

Really good question, Terry. I believe God is bigger even than evil and uses even evil to bring about good. I find comfort in “all things [working] together for good to those who love God, who are called according to his purpose” (Romans 8: 28). And Genesis 50:20-“You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good.” In the bigger picture, the glory of God’s grace and redemptive love can be revealed only in our redemption from evil. See Ephesians 2:7. Those scriptures have helped me.

Did anyone else catch what he said about the Israelites in Egypt beginning at 17:00 minute mark? How God just showed up and delivered them without them having to do one single command to be delivered? I’m pretty sure they were commanded to slaughter a lamb and smear the blood over the doorposts to their houses so the death angel would pass over them or else they would be destroyed as well. Not saying Matt is a false teacher but he’s off on this one. Be careful!

He's specifically talking about the 10 commandments. So yes he told them to sacrifice the lamb, but he did not make them better themselves before delivery. God is the only one who can clean us, not ourselves.

“Limping into church” was a simile. Simile: a figure of speech involving the comparison of one thing with another thing of a different kind, used to make a description more emphatic or vivid (e.g., as brave as a lion, crazy like a fox ). Oxford online dictionary Mephibosheth limped literally. The former addict mentioned by Matt limped figuratively. Hope this clarifies.
