Hi Shauna, what about doing a not a cooking show just for special occasions - eg January, something green and gold for Australia Day; February, Valentines Day; Easter in March or April; Mother's Day in May; Monarchs Birthday in June; another Christmas - in July; Father's Day in September; Halloween in October; Thanksgiving in November. There's your year taken care of. Sorry I missed August - perhaps there'll be someone having a birthday. Thanks for the giggles. P.s. I live in south Louisiana, USA, and we rarely have snow and sometimes we have HOT weather for Christmas but when decorating, we use fake snow. It can be 85 degrees and we have fake snow in our decorations. When my dad would see manger scenes covered with snow, he always said, "There was no snow in Bethlehem when the Christ Child was born". Sometimes he was a party-pooper. Pass the fake snow, please.

@@emmastewart3317 To be honest, when we get snow (every decade or more) it's very wet, extremely slippery, and everything closes down because we're not equipped to deal with snow. But the idea of snow is lovely for Christmas even if not practical. (wink)

in the 1990's I too had purchased Xmas gifts during the year and put them out of sight, and out of mind. For that year's Xmas I purchased items for my family and friends - again. In April of the following year while spring cleaning ( this is Canada) I came across all of the gifts I had hidden. This time I made a mental note of the items and was ready for that year's Xmas well in advance.

She spent the whole day making everything from scratch. She had quite a fun time with the kirsch. She would say...a little for me and some for the cake.
