HOW TO FIND A COOLANT LEAK FAST! (UV Dye)

In this video, I demonstrate how to use UV "Tracer Dye" to figure out where coolant is leaking from in my pickup truck. This procedure can be applied to almost any ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) vehicle that is water-cooled.

Very informative, I have been smelling coolant for months on my vehicle. It's been needing about 1 qrt a month of coolant. I checked my dip stick no milky sludge so its not an internal problem. I'm hoping with the uv dye. I'll find it and be able to fix without needing a shop. I might drive it for a week so it will really show where the problem is.

so after putting the dye and have detected. do you need to flush the dyed cooling water and replace new coolant? or its safe for the dye to be in the syetem

It depends, but in most cases you can leave that die in the system. Usually the bottle it comes in, or the product description will specify which is the case.
