Yeah man, I go to the mountains to escape. Life is heavy sometimes. I’m at 28/58, and I’ve used your vids on every one of them. We’re never really alone when we go through this heavy shit, thanks for being here.

Please keep making videos but of course only at a pace you feel comfortable with and find enjoyment from. Your community values your insight incredibly. Be kind to yourself!

Thank you for posting these great videos! I always look up to your guidance in planning my next hiking move. I've been watching your videos for the past four years plus and never expected to find you in person resting on top of this fourteener, nor having the remote idea that was you when I asked if you recognize the peaks in the horizon. It wasn't until I heard your voice, that I realized I was in front of my favorite KZbinr, and at that moment life just paused! words can not express my gratitude enough for what you do, but keep going. we must do it! thank you!

I left my home in Colorado after my spouse was killed in a car accident. I get to return to the mountains I love, from time to time, with you. From far away in Vermont. Thanks for taking us along. It's been over a decade but I'm finally planning to return to the San Juans next autumn to, hopefully, return back to progressing along my goal for completing my 14er list. Thanks for getting me stoked for Wetterhorn. Appreciate what you do for those of us who can't be there.

Thank you for sharing and so incredibly sorry for your loss. Hopefully next autumn works out for you, I’m sure I don’t have to tell you how amazing the leaves are down there.

Hey man, sorry to hear things have been rough lately! I love watching your videos and planning my next hikes. I used your video to plan my sister and I‘s hike up Uncompahgre this summer and you showed exactly what it was like. Had an amazing day in the beautiful San Juan’s! Just want you to know you’re awesome and make really cool content. Take care of yourself and look forward to the next one!

Just wanted to say thank you for all of your content. I lived in Colorado 15 years ago, and since then I’ve only been back twice. So I love your videos because they let me live vicariously through your adventures. Maybe one of these days I’ll be able to move back and explore one of my favorite places on earth. That being said keep up the good work, but most of all take care of yourself man. Your mental well being is what matters most.

Appreciate you and your great videos. I have also had a tough few months and know how much they mean to me and I am sure others. Had back fused and can’t really get out much right now but I can do these climbs by watching you. Doubt you really understand how much they mean to many. Keep it up if you can. Thanks again.

Another great upload. Hope you make it back up to the Black Hills one day. We have a lot of mountains that are more fun/interesting/technical than Black Elk Peak.

@@TheVirtualsherpa Elkhorn Mountain is the hardest, it's exposed class 4. Sylvan Peak is our hardest 7er, and Peak 6911 (aka North Sylvan) is really fun class 3. Old Baldy is a class 3 right next to Mount Rushmore with insane views. Gap Lode Mountain is pretty challenging and you can pick your route to the top anywhere between class 2 and class 5. Buckhorn Mountain has fun slabs on the lower parts of the mountain and there's a knife edge traverse to a sub-summit (would send pics, but I dropped my phone off that knife edge). Hope this helps :) I did Quandary west ridge a couple weeks ago and it was my favorite hike ever, might be more enjoyable for you this time of year.
@Miderguy_Ай бұрын
Glad you're going to keep posting videos. That class 3 didn't look too bad but I still probably wouldn't try it. Can't wait for the next one. Maybe some 13ers!!
@TheVirtualsherpaАй бұрын
Since I am still working to getting back to "where I was" - I had the same thought. It wasn't as bad or as long as I remember it being. Going down is a little sketchy only because of the loose dirt on top of all the more solid rock.
@Austin_in_the_wildАй бұрын
Glad you are going to continue to make videos! I enjoy them all. Motivates me to come back to Colorado or climb mountains in general. First trip I let my anxiety get to me since I was solo so I didn't get to do any 14ers. I did get to do 13ers Cupid and Grizzly and it was exilerating! I'll be back one day and maybe will run into each other on the mountains.

Glad you made the best decisions for you!

Another awesome video, and I'm glad that in spite of everything the mountains can still bring you peace from the toils of daily life. What would be the competition for your favorite 14er if you're not sure Wetterhorn is it anymore?

Would you reccomend this or Kelso ridge as a first class 3? I’m looking into both rn
@brianlund7862Ай бұрын
Kelso you wouldn't have to downclimb. I did both this summer. They're probably equally challenging going up. The exposure on wetterhorn is higher, and you have to downclimb it. Kelso you can do a class 1 stroll back to your car after you summit. So I'd do Kelso first. Kit Carson, sneffels standard, and sneffels sw ridge are all easier options (imo) than either of these two though
@DeriveSznАй бұрын
Kelso ridge. You can take Grays standard route down. So once you summit you’re home free and no downclimb.
