Don't complain about working in restaurants and pubs because thats the way it works in western countries. Students manage their own finances. We indians are just pampered by our parents and hate it when we have to work for money. If you go to different country embrace their culture and accept their way of living.

Pure honesty... I know a lot of international students who are struggling everyday to keep up with expenses and are lying to people/friends in India about their well-being. You have perfectly described the life of an international student and the amount of hard work they do after coming to a new country.... Well done, Sandeep.

+Aniosho K Are you aware of a thing called "Indian mentality"? These guys can't go back because they'll be tormented by people around them. Also, some families depend on their kids for financial support. Some families have high expectations from their kids who are in a foreign country. All these factors force them to not go back as a failure.

+Natasha M. i have so many friends and cousins, who went abroad for studies and none of them ever complained besides minor incidents. and they r living happy life there? but people who go there only to earn money face the real problem, they don't know good english can't understand their way of life.so its not like everyone is safe and happy.

I am in my mid forties. I lived many years in the US,Australia and other 1st world countries (2000-2012). Returned to India and am based in Bombay since 2012. I have retained my Aussie PR and my children are Aussie citizens. My personal opinion is that there is no such thing as better or worse. You can be happy or sad anywhere...be it India...UK or Australia. You can prosper anywhere, depending on your luck or destiny. Its all a mindset. It is simple....if you can have a better lifestyle in India, live in India. If you are doing very well overseas, then i see no good reason to come back (except some other personal of family reasons).

Crank Stabheart The verse is from the great Hindu Epic Ramayana in Sanskrit composed by Adi Kavi (Primordial Poet) sage Valmiki. Lord Rama uttered this while addressing his younger brother Lakshmana after their victory over the Rakshasa (demon) king Ravana. After the victory Vibheeshana invited the Vaanara sena, Rama and Lakshmana to enter the Lanka city and be his guests for some time.. The entire shloka is as follows. अपि स्वर्णमयी लङ्का न मे लक्ष्मण रोचते जननी जन्मभूमिश्च स्वर्गादपि गरीयसी "Lakshmana, even this golden Lanka does not appeal to me, mother and motherland are greater than heaven."

Tiana McCartney Arey padai se jyaada kaam karna koi galat intension nahi hota.Kuch log honge jo jugad karne ki sochte hai lekin kuch yeh bhi sochte hai ki mein apne family par poora pressure nahi daloonga agar padai ke saath thoda kaam kar loo toh emergency mein student ko hi kaam ayenge aur family pe koi pressure bhi nahi padega. Aur sabhi hardship sirf apne future aur family ke liye hi sehte hai aur Greencard karcho se bachne ke liye le lete hai aur Zyada tar log apne retirement ke baad India wapas chale aate hai.

Been working here in London as a professional for 8 years. On the question 'Where to study in UK ?' , clear answer for Indians, if you can get into a top 10 or so uni - go for it, else dont study in UK. Without a top uni degree, you will have a very low chance of getting a job either here or back home in India. The most reputed and safe are: Oxbridge, London Business School, LSE, Imperial, UCL, St. Andrews, Durham, Warwick (Math), Edinburgh and Kings College London. An less liked course in one of these universities is far better than a terrific course in a less reputed one ! Hope this helps our Indian folks back home.

Absolutely right! One shouldn't go to UK or any Western country if he is not well-qualified. I don't mean specifically degrees. At least you must have completed vocational skills training in an occupation which is in high demand there. If you are not well-qualified but plan on settling there illegally, then forget about it unless you are fine with living a very hard life and living perpetually in fear of getting caught and deported. For the people who are highly-skilled and educated, life is good whether in India or the West. For those who are not, life is a struggle everywhere.

Bro firstly, working in a restaurant or washing someone’s car to earn a few pounds (not ponds 🤣) isn’t a trivial thing in the UK and u should know since you’ve lived here for some time. Secondly, students have to struggle anywhere they are and the same goes for India and believe me, I struggled more in India to get a job than I did here. I’m not saying its easy, but its not impossible either if one dedicatedly works hard instead of trying to flirt with girls. Also such creators need to stop telling people whether to do something or not through their videos and should instead lay the points for audience and let them decide for themselves. PS :- its only my personal experience and viewpoint. The ones who patiently read this tedious message, remember that calculations before doing something are important, but your choices to study in a particular country are equally important. 😉 Enjoy

And for Indians, it's impossible to get permission to work there. If you work without permission, then you could end up in jail, laws are very strict here. My advice to you, unless you are super rich, don't come to UK, stay in India, work hard and enjoy success

brother STOP generalizing things in life. The UK has some world ranking universities and colleges/ If a student belongs to a middle class family and still comes to the UK for higher education, he will have to work in pubs and hotels, even on weekends. However, there are thousands of students who study in OXFORD and Cambridge, The London business achool or the london school of economics. And they are very well doing in their lives. Average students have no future EVEN in India. The UK is a very developed place. And ONLY if you get admission in a world raking university, you would get a life. If you study in a private college or normal university, do not expect to get a job in World Bank or microsoft. So we can not and must not STOP everybody from going to the UK, just because we could not succeed, it does not mean other will also fail!!!!!!!!!

Not entirely true. Yes you have to do odd jobs when on student visa and there is a 20hrs per week restriction. You can work weekend afternoon and go out at nite. Nite clubs entry is mostly free/cheap and drinks are affordable. Also you dont have to necessarily buy it to the ladies. The magic happens at the dance floor. The only suggestion I can give is do not waste money on expensive courses, look for cheap college and degrees to get yourself permanent visa. Getting work after graduation will depend on your work experience and NOT your qualification. Int'l Grads normally start with an entry level temp jobs to gain experience. Later you can move up the ladder once in. So its not that bad. Also one honeat advice to desis outside india - please mix up with other cultures too, it really makes a lot of difference and you wont feel lonely. Thumbzup if you agree fellas.

Quite motivating, however not in regard with the reformed VISA norms which allow only 4 months of post education stay in the UK. Man... You need to get life... I'm a student from India living in UK... And it's amazing.. I love it here... From the story you are telling... I can relate you to some guys of my class.. If you are gonna work more than 20 hours illegally at restaurant then pf course you are gonna sleep in class..😂 20- 25 hours of university and 20 hours part time work... It's just 40-45 hours of work in total a week.. Which is less than what my friends in India spends in class 9 to 5. Stop demotiving students, who dream to study abroad!
@nerisalobo
@nerisalobo 4 жыл бұрын
It’s not demotivating, it’s called telling people the reality, I know a lot of people in the UK complaining about the same thing and they are not student but grads who are not able to find relevant work. It only makes sense to study abroad if your parents are loaded enough to enroll you in a top university otherwise it’s just a waste of time and resources.

Tejasvini Roy What is your university’s rank? Is your internship going to absorb you for a permanent role? Did you get the internship through a placement cell or job portals? The point is you could be lucky, everyone else isn’t, ultimately it comes down to getting a job and relevant experience before your student visa expires and if you look at the competition especially right now then you can imagine how the people that spent a fortune to study in the UK or anywhere feel when they are forced to move back because most of them don’t find work.
@MK-iy4fx
@MK-iy4fx 4 жыл бұрын
@@nerisalobo you seem like really frustrated... 😂 I don't have time to reply your 100s of questions because you have 100s of more different negative things to say on my one answer! So I am not planning to reply to you next time even if you would swear in next reply..😂 And trust me it ain't luck that I got internship and yes it could turn into permanent job if I do good! I got it in campus internship placement. Thing is life is what you make it. You are here to study so if you'll focus on that everything will be fine! And just to let you know I have two part time jobs too and I pay for my accommodation, living expenses and 2/3rd of my total tuition fees from my job. So stop saying, ''Can't focus on studies because of job!'' And not just here anywhere in the world, UK, Canada, Australia. My boyfriend is in Australia and his experience is great too!!! Just focus on Studies! I never pay attention to these kinda stuff but I did reply this time only so that the students who are dreaming to study here shouldn't get demotivated!
@nerisalobo
@nerisalobo 4 жыл бұрын
Tejasvini Roy focus on studies? Yes of course you have to but then talk about the students who have to work part time to earn their basic living expenses. Unless your parents are filthy rich or really well off or you are exceptionally talented when it comes to studies it makes absolutely no sense to study overseas because at the end it all comes down to money. And you know why you don’t wanna reply back to me, it’s because you are afraid to accept the reality that there are students other than yourself who are actually struggling and to keep up with the academics owing to their finances and to top it all the competition they face from the locals when it comes to work. Coming to your internship, if you ask me it was luck, you were lucky since there was no one else better than you, if that weren’t case you’d be complaining like the guy in this video as well. So if you wanna live in a bubble and continue lying about everything just know that you will be contributing to their misery.

Can't agree with you bro. I came to Canada as a student back in 2011. I won't say that I have everything in life, but I certainly have gotten more here than I ever had in India. With the right networking with people, and right certifications, you can achieve success in almost any field here. Important thing is to reach out for help and guidance from anyone, and not just indians. I have seen so many people from India here who end up working crappy jobs because they like to stay in the comfort of their own community of Indians and don't want to socialize with Canadians. If you're one of those people, then unfortunately Canada is not for you. I used to work crappy night shift jobs in India. At the risk of sounding too proud, now I work 9am-4pm job and have a great work life balance, i own my own home, car and go on international vacations every year while still remitting money to my folks back home. It's all about your attitude and determination. All I want to tell you is that Canada is not all that bad. It's up to you to make it big. There is no racism of any kind here. At least I haven't experienced it in the past 7 or 8 years. Cheers.

Guys, i am honestly telling you all there are lot of good opportunities in abroad if you are skilled, and focus on settling there rather than just earning money. In india, if you are from middle class family like me you can’t earn that much or well settled as compare to abroad. and luck is nothing. if you have skills, strong decision, u r hard worker, reliable, loyal then no one can stop you to achieve your goals. Great video! After a certain point in life, life in another country sucks. Especially in countries like US where the concept of culture, manners or friendships is alien (Most people hang out with their own kind). This has been my experience in US. I don't expect UK to be any better. Many Indians on their new arrival invite their American neighbors, make food for them & throw parties to fit in. As time goes on, they realize that this is never reciprocated. People come, eat, drink, MECHANICALLY talk some BS about Culture, beautiful clothes, colors, food and oh... Taajsh Mahaaul. Slowly, it dawns to the Indians that they won't be invited to their neighbors house, so the invitations and parties stop. It turns out this is not just specific to Indians. All new immigrants everywhere from South America, Europe or Asia, go through the same process of this one-way invitations when they come and eventually give up. Unfortunately this nasty behavior of the majority is adopted by the newcomers and no matter how long you live in one place you will not know your neighbors. So people end up hanging out in their own circles with their own kind. I often see westerners go to India and they blog/vlog about how great the Indian hospitality was and how it was so nice and kind of the Indians that they gave them accommodation, made food, took them out etc. So I ask them... "When you go back to your own country, did you EVER invite an Indian family to your house and reciprocated that?" In 99.99% of the cases, its NEVER reciprocated. The whole concept of reciprocation or connecting with people just doesn't exist. If you do make some friends through some miracle, the relationship is too formal and short-lived. You find that most of your "friends" are busy with going in and out of relationships constantly through a repeated drama of dating, break ups, marriages, divorces over and over again. This process eventually stops after 2-3 divorces when ppl realize that they are not only not young to be doing this, but also a lot poorer. Some go to marriage counselors and strangely the counselors themselves are divorced multiple times!! When they see their kids suffering some sense gets knocked in, finally. No wonder then, most ppl live on credit and are perpetually poor. Don't let the credit driven lifestyle of cars, apartments and TVs fool you. (Millions of ppl are retiring with less than $10,000 in savings and being totally dependent on social security which won't cover their expenses). Most ppl that I know in their late 30s, 40s, 50s are single. After the kids leave the house, the older folks are back into the "dating game" in their 60s and 70s while the Indians of that age are spending time with their grandchildren. As a result of this churn of relationships, ppl are constantly on the move from place to place. Children are split up between parents. Added to this churn is a totally racist & bizarre media that constantly spouts negative stereotypes of Indians and others, ppl never learn anything new, never connect with others and Racism is abound. So they never really develop good friendships, are always searching for the next person and are always poor and lonely. Probably some of their best friends are their divorce lawyers who are always there for them when they need them the next time. ====== As long as you are going to a School/University, its all fun, partying & traveling because you have lots of friends, are just focused on your education, and you have zero responsibilities. After graduation and 3 years of working, suddenly the reality hits you like a brick. You are no longer staying with a bunch of friends, you have rent/mortgage to pay, you have responsibilities, you will have no emotional support, no place to fall back on, bills are piling up, you will be working 10-12 hours per day and your parents are looking forward for you to get married. Initially, you and your spouse, will be hanging out with other Indians and that interaction too will dissipate as ppl have kids and friends move to different cities for work. You will have little or no friendships and life turns into a monotony of work-pay bills-eat-sleep. No matter where you move, you will not know your neighbors. You will try over and over again to develop friendships but you will fail. In the meantime, back home, your grandparents, uncles, aunts and your own parents will slowly age and die. And a lot of times you won't be able to make it to see your relatives that one last time. As they pass away and as relationships cease to exist, when you go back, you will find yourself out of place in your own country. What you took for granted all your life suddenly disappears. This is the price you WILL pay. Having said that, I believe everyone should travel abroad and experience life in other countries. Because only through experiencing the ground reality does this glorification of another society ends. Its important for Indians living abroad to stop kowtowing, stop BS-ing and actually state the facts. I don't know why but ppl love to give an appearance of a fairy tale life. But its all a one big lie. Feedback without sugarcoating is important both for aspiring Indians as well as to the ppl of the host country. Especially in countries where racism is abound, you have to ensure that they fix their behavior becoz its this lack of interaction between groups that is the root cause of racism in these countries. They are stupid enough to believe its the color of skin. Its not. its this disease of going home everyday and locking yourself up that's the problem. In anycase they need to learn to be respectful. You will find that most of the news in these countries is about blacks and whites constantly bickering with each other. It happens everywhere from the streets to bickering with each other at the awards ceremony. Its like a favorite pastime here. The media portrays the blacks as victims and pushes for more sensitivity towards them. At the same time it behaves insensitively towards Indians by constantly showing negative news on Indians. You can look at news archives and it goes back at least 25 years of constant negativity. In India you are taught to be respectful to EVERYONE. But here the media is solely focused on relationship between whites and blacks. You realize that there is no honest attempt to address the issue of Racism. Its all about creating these exclusive groups. So its like every group be it Indians, Asians, Hispanics etc have to individually keep fighting continuously for all these whites to finally accept you. And when that finally happens for that group, we are all supposed to be humbled and thank our stars that they have finally accepted us. We sink to our knees teary eyed, the heavens open, light shines and angels start singing. I don't know how to put it, but this whole exercise is really ridiculous, dumb and stupid. I have been to retreats and I saw the same behavior. I find a lot of these Americans hanging out with each other in groups and they have Indian names often like "Something Ananda", "Something Shanti", "Uma" and off late, they have Sikh names as well. BUT astonishingly there are no Indians in those groups! They have these exclusive groups and communities of ppl walking around with a fake air of superiority that smacks of -- "We know more about yoga and spirituality than you Indians". There are also a few token blacks in the these groups so that no one can accuse them of Racism. I have no clue why but being "spiritual" for these ppl means walking around in paisley pajamas, dreadlocks, unshaven, both the men and women look like they haven't showered or brushed in weeks and walking around barefoot. And all these ppl are there selling their overpriced services hoping to make a quick buck. So essentially they haven't learned squat and its the same old crap, same old prejudices and mentalities in a different Avatar. I have seen a lot of them go to India, live & eat free in Ashrams, live on the goodwill of Indians, train under Indian gurus, come back and make money writing books, starting Billion dollar companies like AVEDA (ripoff of Ayurveda). But when their media attacks Indians or Indian culture, not one of them defends Indians. There is an absolute silence. Now, If you fail to address the issue of racism and this issue of these exclusive groups, your kids born in a foreign country will end up paying for it. If you do have kids, most kids grow up really confused. Indian children are even ashamed to call themselves Indian. Most 2nd generation Indian kids dress up and will act like blacks. In these societies, if you are not white then you are black. Its a very dichromatic society. You will find that blacks and whites are misbehaving with Indian kids. Generally Indians are perceived as weak and hence easy to bully. Before it was just one group, now its both groups that show racist tendencies. The trinity of Cops, Lawyers and Courts are perpetually present in everyone's lives. Frivolous lawsuits are rampant. Its the highest incarcerated country in the world with the prison system being a huge business. Even with all these laws, there are a LOT of dishonest ppl. When you get scammed, you can take someone to court and win but good luck collecting the money even if you win the case. You will also notice that you don't see a lot of old ppl around. They mysteriously vanish. You realize that they are all ending up in old age homes. The ones who cannot afford end up living by themselves in a small house. I have been to several old age homes and I was really shocked to learn that hardly anyone comes to visit them because as I mentioned earlier, most ppl are busy going through relationship drama of marriages, divorces etc. The old ppl live in old age homes until they end up in hospices and dying among a bunch of strangers. Another wonderful thing to look forward to when you retire here.

Chandan Singh I just disagree with this video...the quality of HE in the UK is far from homogeneous. However some general observations are: - An undergraduate degree in India is generally less specialised than one in the UK, covering wider material in less depth. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but does mean that as a good graduate from India you are less prepared for further study. - There is more of an emphasis on facts and knowledge, and less on understanding analysis and critical thought (this is true at earlier stages in the education system too). This is perrhaps the biggest problem with the education system in India.

I do agree with him on certain points however not completely.First of all it is the same situation in India whee the only job one can have is in IT and that too in big cities like Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Bangalore and these cities are already overcrowded. And once you are stuck there it like a nightmare of a life, where there is 2 hr one way commuting distance. I see so many of my friends stuck in such a life that all of them want to leave India. Secondly, Struggle is all most everywhere, You can't get a job on your lap like that , you have to literally put lots of effort before you get that same like India. Indians always go by myth and have herd mentality. If someones cousin or neighbor boy is in Uk and made it big all of them want to go to UK. You need to understand that every country has its own limits. UK opened its borders long time back in may 1970's and since then its allowing Immigrants to come and make a living. It has already reached a threshold and can't just go on allowing immigrants from world endlessly. Its not a capitalistic country like USA. Its time now to look beyond UK , it is already flooding with all kinds of immigrants. Thirdly, plan you carrier based on specialization and narrowing down the scope of it in terms of better opportunity, don't just go thinking that every one is going so I should also be going. UK is already jam packed going there is not gonna make any sense. Besides, my own experience is that I deliberately avoided UK cause it has hell lot of Indians and its struggling economy. Also here in NZ I get good opportunities on my way eve if I refuse its as if Jobs automatically come looking after me. But the same does't happen with others I don't know why, but NZ is far much better then UK any given day. In fact many UK ex-patriots prefer to live in NZ rather than UK. I have class fellows who left India and they all gave the same reason that life is not good in India and its better to live abroad rather than a life like a worm or leech barely even managing to make ends meet.All who came had the firm conclusion that Indian has become a nightmare and they can't get a better life. Note they all had jobs in India but not a good life that's why they came here in NZ. Finally I would conclude by saying that effective planning is better rather than just follow the direction where every one is going its not gonna work. Choose destinaion wisely and with effective planning. have better English and be open to talk to others. Think beyond UK and USA

I spent literally 8 months in 2002 inAKL/ NZ for a simple developer job and was NOT able to find any one..Dishearteningly as was left with no choice I had to return back to India..within 10 days of my arrival in India I got a job as developer for onsite and it was UK, and I went to UK for a long term opportunity..I think other way round..UK has more firms than NZ..If NZ has less firms then it has that little only to offer..my theory is just your reverse bro.anyways nice to know you:-)

You are right about looking beyond UK and the US. Also, leaving aside education and career, what's the point of going to a foreign country if it's flooded with your own people. An uncle of mine lived near London for about 6 years, after he returned, he said it felt like he was in India, except that the weather was windy and cloudy all the time, and the roads and buildings were well maintained.

Utkarsh Yadav You are only 15. but still decide first if you wanna come UK for studies or to enjoy independent life. If you wanna study then you have to have a money to get admission in UKBA certified university or college. In exams they dont ask questions from specific chapter. They ask question in which you have to use your logic and correlate everything you studied and write precisely. Education here is different than India. Its more practical I meant. You cant work here cos rules are changed now. I cant say if they change rules again in near future. You can enjoy life on Friday in clubs but you have to balance it with your part time job and studies. Part time job is culture over here and 90% students in UK do it. Many guys take admission in black listed universities and colleges which you never heard of cos they come here to earn money in pounds doing part time jobs. They don't care about studies or doing professional job coz they are busy earning money doing part time. They just complain about everything. I am sure you will enjoy studies along with part time in student life. Once you done with your graduation if you have enough knowledge and certified university you will get professional job easily. One more thing my friend is from Maharashtra and hes girlfriend is British her name is Sarah, they are getting married soon and my best friend is Rachel she is British too, in fact 70% of my friends are British some are good some aren't. Brother everything depends on you. How you take things and deal with it. I can say one thing for sure life here is cool and hardly have any tensions except my parents. I have to call them twice in a day. lolz. Good luck.

This is so true. People may earn more in the UK but theyr expenses are also more. They will always pick a gora for a position rather than a foreigner. #truth

Everybody is so fake here in comments IF YOU like UK want to work definitely go but don't brag about salary part of you are bachelor your expenses might be less that doesn't mean you save a lot somebody in comment section is telling he sends home 1.5 lac ok might be possible but please don't assume you can also have that salary for people earning that much they don't have time to comment on a youtube video and at one point it's pretty boring living alone remember you pay rent education cost taxes parking , car insurance electricity bills , clothing , food expense gas etc first learn to live alone in india then try abroad and don't just see money see where you love to work because in then satisfaction matters
