This was the BEST, most genuine, and most appreciative reaction to the absolute BEST vocal group that I’ve ever had the pleasure of hearing. So it’s really great when I see someone who can appreciate them as much as I can. Because honestly I don’t think most people REALLY get it. These guys harmony is unmatched!

The first person to sing was Chance - baritone. The second was Rob - tenor. The third was Austin - high tenor. Then Tim and Adam joined in last. Tim is the bass singer and Adam is the beatboxer (he's the one that's clean shaven). Their new cover of Woman/Amen/Female is incredible.

These guys are so amazing. The first guy to start the song off was Chance. He has a 4 octave range, but mostly sings Bass/ Baritone. The second guy to chime in was Rob (the big guy with the full beard) He's their lead tenor, but has at least a 2 octave range. The third guy is Austin(tall skinny blone guy) who is their high tenor. Their beatboxer ( clean shaven guy), who is an incredible beatboxer, but also sings harmony on some songs like this. And last but far from least, is their outstanding bass guy with a 5+ octave range, Tim Foust. He's the long dark haired guy. He can go so deep to the point that it's almost inautoable, and then in one long cord soar into the high tenor range without blinking an eye. In dividually these guys are so talented in their own right, but together....they are absolutely too incredible for words. I hope you check out their version of 'How Great Thou Art'. Talk about heavenly.....just you wait. These guys will knock your socks off. But if you want to see the other side of Tim's outstanding vocal range, check out 'Mayday" Thanks, I hope we see you again real soon.

Cindy Flory I too am a big fan of theirs and please don't think that I'm trying to correct you but you left out the beatboxer's name which is, as you know I'm sure, Adam. Accidents happen. I just couldn't leave him out. Have a great day.

As a writer myself I appreciate great vocal writing (Darren Rust does a lot for them and is another talent worth enjoying). As someone who appreciates great vocal talents I've heard my own singing and realized I need to stick a trombone in my face and leave the singing to pros like these guys! My go-to Home Free tour-de-force is "Do You Hear What I Hear" which Adam Rupp arranged. It was filmed a few miles from my home in Eden Prairie in -20F weather. Welcome to the Home Free fold, Frank!

This one really shows their "skills". Their harmony, the unison, the synchronization - just perfect! Those who have had any kind of music education, whether it be singing, band, piano, guitar, or any music lessons, can really "appreciate" this one. Know what I mean?!! ❤ Thx for doing this one! Loved your reaction! Btw: Adam is a freak of nature becuz he's like a human drum kit. He lays down some steady, very tasteful, & wicked percussion for the group. Between his percussion & Tim's bass (the rhythm section), is why they always sound so full & most people think there are instruments when in fact there are not. Besides being a great vocal percussionist, he's also an incredible beatboxer as well. He can do it all. Every one of them are musically trained. They didn't just come together & start singing. Each one is a great soloist, which as a group, makes them so good.
@nateeller27486 жыл бұрын
To hear Tim's vocal range, listen to "In the Blood" for his rich true bass, then listen too "Mayday", where he sings Tenor.. To hear Adams Beatboxing best (in my opinion) "Mayday" is very good then listen to "Woman Amen/Female" They all have extremely good voices and they are all featured as lead in different songs.

Adam Chance (baritone/bass) was the first singer. I would suggest you listen to "I Can't Outrun You" which he also directed. Rob was next (tenor) then Austin (high tenor). I LOVED this reaction! I knew you would like this one after watching your last Home Free reaction. Which is why we recommend it 🙂. Adam Rupp is a freak of nature because he’s the best. He was voted the best beat boxer in the world by his peers (other beat boxers) a couple years ago and he has even gotten better in the last couple years! It’s amazing. 17 years of practice will help with that. Check out an “Adam Rupp beatbox solo” sometime. Preferably a more recent one, but any will do.

Singer 1 was Adam Chance, the newest member. Singer 2 is Beardy McBeardenstein, aka Rob Lundquist. Singer 3 is the usual lead singer, Austin Brown. The beat boxer is Adam Rupp, and the guy with long hair, the bass, is Tim Foust. They've been around almost 5 years, and won the season of the Sing Off after Pentatonix. I recommend Blue Ain't Your Color, Meant To Be, Wake Me Up, or..... the Butts Remix.

I think others have commented already, on the lineup, but I'll add it here, as well: Baritone/Bass--Adam Chance (commonly known as just Chance, so that the two Adams don't get confusing) opens the song. Lead/Low Tenor--Rob Lundquist joins next. High Tenor--Austin Brown rounds out the first trio. Rob comes back in at, "They are one person..." Austin adds, "They are two, alone..." Chance completes the comparison with, "They are three, together..." [5-Octave] Bass--Tim Foust adds, "They are four...each other..." Beatboxer--Adam Rupp completes the harmonious blend. Etc. One thing I would like to point out, because every once in a while, a naysayer will comment on this particular video, something like, "Obviously auto tune is being used here." It is NOT. The only thing I can say is, "Go to a concert." You will absolutely be blown away. When I got to go, in May 2018, the ONLY thing that I didn't like was...when we finally HAD to get up out of our seats to leave the building to go home. We kept them in the arena (and they sound as great there as they would on any huge stage...I'd love to hear them at Carnegie Hall, though...WOW) for three encores. The last one they are currently doing is this one (just a lot of fun, and there's a clip in the video that shows Austin during one of those encores) (don't forget there is NO percussion other than Adam Rupp, but listen to the rhythms being kept by the others, as well) (the people dancing throughout, are Patrons, who support the group at Patreon.com; I'm a Patron, but at the time when they asked for clips to include in the video, I was in the hospital having my first hip replaced...doggone it!) :-) Anyway...here's the video: "Love Train" kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZpSrnGuqnZapaaM They are not new, in that they've been around for nearly 18 years, now, but not with this exact current mix. This total group of five have only been together since mid-2017, when Chris Rupp (who began the group while he and Adam were still in college), after 16 years decided to go out on his own. That's when Chance came on board. I would suggest you check out Chris Rupp's KZbin channels as well Chris Rupp.. kzbin.info/door/8VCOdC8OpUmf3SPY3Cwc1Q 7thAve Band (Chris and Adam's sister Tristin is part of this group, as well)... kzbin.info/door/daBAP9_lMbXpLGj8tRRQkg This next list of videos to watch should give you a pretty good cross-section of Adam's outstanding beatboxing (along with his other music majors...his primary instrument is trumpet...he also studied drums for a time, in order to do the beatboxing for Home Free, back when he and his brother Chris Rupp started the group...oh, and, yes, Adam also can sing extremely well, and his OWN range, as you'll be able to tell if you watch the last video in the list below, is down in the bass range and up in the high tenor range), along with a good idea of where each of the men fit into the scheme of the group (they're all so flexible that there really isn't a "part" that any of them sing, but their personalities and voice types are used to the best advantage in each instance)... "Hillbilly Bone" kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5CakIWKpMyFeNk "Blue Ain't Your Color" kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZacdYaaoLeEq5Y "Castle on the Hill" kzbin.info/www/bejne/gafEnXqfos2og6c "Try Everything" kzbin.info/www/bejne/gGnZqZyMfq1qjLs "Fishin' in the Dark/Down in the Boondocks" kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKubgKCLgqh7kNk "Woman, Amen/Female" kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpOYpIeNeqZ3odU "Mayday" kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJ_Sh2idg6lsnZI "Good Ol' Boy Good Time" kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYTWoayQjLmgd6M Now, the beatboxing in this one is closer to some of the stuff you'd hear in Adam Rupp's "drum solos" that he does in their concerts: "Do You Hear What I Hear?" kzbin.info/www/bejne/rXq0gnePltSKpsU Here's one of the best recordings that I know of, of one of those "drum solos." kzbin.info/www/bejne/povdZ6ieet-Gibs Enjoy! :-) If you ever get the chance, I hope you'll attend at least one concert. :-)

What people don't seem to understand is that AutoTune is used in almost everything nowadays because it's become a standard in the music industry, even when the singers sing amazingly well live. It isn't used only for pitch corrections like most people seem to think, or only for 'bad' singers, it's also used for timing / syncing, voice effects etc. I'm not an expert but I can hear quite a lot of 'processing' on this track. However, that doesn't mean I think they're bad singers at all because I have heard them live, so I know how amazing they are as singers, performers and entertainers, but it doesn't change the fact that this track sounds pretty heavily processed. Unfortunately, the trend in music industry nowadays seems to be: the more known someone becomes, the more 'processed' their sound seems to get.

Hey Coach. Absolutely loved your reaction to your second Home Free song. I followed a similar path discovering them, by following Avi with "Ring of Fire" and i heard them, and that was the end. They are possibly one of the most talented group of singers I've ever heard. I dove right in listening to song after song. I admire your restraint lol. If you want to hear why they call Adam a "freak of nature" listen to a video of him just beat boxing, i know there are two really good ones out there. He doesn't just do the drums, but makes sounds you would swear came from a soundboard. There are a few songs out there that isolate each singers abilities, Mayday, Butts, or you could watch the episodes of the Sing Off competion. He also arranges a lot of Home Free’s music, he writes songs and has a beatbox sound that incorporates his singing voice, which not a lot of beatboxers do! Check out some of the Home Free Live videos and you will understand why his fans call him that! So Adam Chance was the first singer and he’s our baritone. Then, Rob Lunquist with the beard. He’s our tenor. Then, Austin Brown,’with the longer hair and he’s our high tenor. Then, there’s Tim Foust. Hes got longer, dark hair and he’s our super bass! Austin Brown is the third singer and is the angelic high tenor (light long hair and beard). Adam Rupp is the beat boxer and in the few songs where he sings he has a sweet soft tenor voice. Now the two in the back starting on the left, the beatboxer is Adam, he's magical. Next is Chris, who looks like Leonardo DiCaprio, he sings second Tenor, also Alto which is mid-range, and Baritone as you just heard!

You should look at "Greensleeves" on Peter Hollen's channel the bassist Tim Foust from Home Free in collaboration with Peter Hollens is heavenly and you can see Tim's range also, he sings high and low in the song and switches vocally in his solo.

It is real. I saw them at the Ryman auditorium and they performed this song off the mike. It was awesome 😍

Adam sings in "How Great Thou Art", "Angel's We Have Heard On High", and "Oh Holy Night" and several other songs in between beat boxing. Everyone in his family are singers and he has a BA in music so I'm not surprised he can sing.

Indigo Moon I know he can sing and I was never saying he was bad im just saying his beatboxing is so much better

You misunderstood. I was responding to your comment about this possibly being the first song Adam has sung on and it's not. He's been "singing" in the group for years, albeit mostly beat boxing, of course. I didn't say anything about you thinking he was bad because you never said that. I was just making a statement not an accusation. I think we can at least all agree that he is just amazing. Super talented...they all are!
