The typical Filipino breakfast are Longganisa, tocino, bangus, corned beef, tapa (beef) and hotdog with sunny side up eggs and garlic fried rice. Can’t forget the hot pandesal with cheese.

After living and working in se-asia +15 years i always say "things that don't kill you , makes u stronger" and ive been eating it all in Thailand and Phillipines .. from balout to bbq monkeys to anteggs worms and bugs to my favorite beer snack: fried frogs with bbq spice and chili=)

When i was in grade school i only eat the egg yolk the yellow part 😮😊 as i grew up i slowly get used to eating the whole balut esp college days right after the whole day of full contact martial Arts i was so hungry & the only food available at that time is balut😮thats when i started liking balut 👌🏻im now in my mid 50's🤗🤣 welcome to the PHILIPPINES Silas❤😀🥰🤠👍 enjoy ur vacation man 😀

I think that is a 16-day old balut, the embryo is not that big yet, but I really like the 18-day old balut with the big duck embryo, it’s more delicious😂

FYI, I'm half Filipino too and have been visiting the Phils a bunch of times, and all I can say is, not all Filipinos love balut or eat balut. I love balut, but only with the smaller embryo.

You're over-reacting man, it's psychological, it's even more delicious & nutritious than normal egg!!! Most foreigners are just over-reacting trying to project as more civilized thinking that this cannot be eaten due to animal unethical practice but there's no law preventing the fertilized chicken or duck egg to eat. The reality is, it's delicious! High in protein & other nutrients!

Balut is from China... it was introduced by Chinese migrants, not just to the Philippines, but to other Southeast Asian countries as well, like Vietnam and Cambodia.

I don’t like Balut. I’ve only eaten the duck part once. I didn’t like eating feathers, beaks, or claws. The liquid and the yolk, though, are good! I prefer the Balut Penoy.
