in vielen amerikanischen PE classes ist es gang und gebe das man freiwillig aussetzen kann...bin mir net 100% sicher, aber der background ist das zu viele dicke kinder sich genötigt fühlen bei sachen wie laufen und...gymnastik und sport generell ^^ und PE ist ein pflichtkurs für ein jahr...aber halt keine pflicht mitzumachen. die bekommen dann eine C oder D was unserer 3-4 entspricht.

Yes. Classes stay together in sports too. In the higher classes often certain sports are offered in groups (clubs/AGs) like the Volleyball AG or a Football AG and classes may seperate during those occasions.

Some facts about our school system: 1.) Not all schools have this huge size of PE (or in German: Sport) places. 2.) Our grades dont go from A+ to F-, they go from 1 (A) to 6 (F). Also, we normally dont use + and - in our grades. 3.) You are NOT allowed to use your phone at a german School, you need a permission from a teacher (like a card) or have certain areas for phone using. 4.) In America, the students have to change the rooms. Here, we have on room for each class. Only for special lessons (science, PE, ...), they have to move to another room. Ask me what you want if you need answers, I am a german - english interpreter. Also, this school you were is called a "Gymnasium"," Realschule" oder "Hauptschule", depending on how good the students are when they finish the 4th grade. But it isnt called " Crundeschule". The "Grundschule" (you made a spelling mistake) is for students that are younger than 13 years.

Nen bisschen korrigieren von deinen Punkten 2*.) There are + or - in german grades. You can have 3+ oder 4-. Average grade for passing is 4. But after the 10th grade the system normally changes to numbers from 15 (A) to 0 (F). Those are points you collect for your Abitur. It can vary from Bundesland to Bundesland. But at least in NRW, thats the normal system. 4*.) It is indeed normal that every class has it's own room (which they can even decorate). But after (can vary from state to state) the 9th grade, you don't have your own classroom anymore, because there are no classes. In the pre stages of Abitur, you choose your own subjects according to a system (where you have to do a specific amount of hours in a week and amount of subjects). So there are no fixed calsses anymore, It is more like university, where everyone has a different schedule, and for each subject there is a special room. But always keep in mind. the school forms and rules can vary between the states and even the cities. So there is no general law how it is supposed to be. But at least this is the normal Standard in NRW.

They are handling phones like hard illegal drugs or something. One of the teachers from the AWS in Kirchhain hold me like a ''hostage'', because I was walking across the AWS to the BSK( a school where you can do your A-levels). I listend to some music with my earplugs that were connected to my phone. He asked me what I am doing there and I replied ,,sry I don't have time for this I'm from the BSK and I'm late for school''. Then he grabbed my arm and wouldn't let me go... So I sayed it a few times again until he released me in an angry tone... These people/ teachers have no chill and are always bothering the 17-20 year old students from the BSK. And you can't start a dialogue with the AWS about it, because they will just get wrongly offended by this :( So be prepared when you walk across their place if you want to get to your destination a little bit quicker :/

Ja das ist fast überall so in Deutschland. Es wird gelaufen, manchmal auch bei regen und wer nicht läuft der wird vom Sport ausgenommen oder kriegt ne 6 für die Stunde. Du darfst nur im Fall einer Verletzung oder wegen Krankheit z.B. Grippe dich vom Sport abmelden, musst aber trotzdem die Stunde anwesend sein.

Great video to see Silas. Hope you get to do more of this in schools, cause this is something that kids actually do remember and appreciate. I work for my local soccer team in Sweden and we have players from the US and some has actually been working part-time in a school and the kids love when they come there. It both gives the kids a good chance to practice their english, but also in your case learn something new with your sport. In the end this is how you get new people into the sport.

Don't believe everything the German kids tell you ;-) . German High School goes from grade 5 through 12/13 (depending on state), so from age 10 through 18/19. There is no separate middle school. Before that is elementary school age 6 through 10.

Everybody has to participate in P.E there are no excuses except for being sick (most of the times u need a medical certificate that u can’t participate in that specific space of time.) and if u forget your stuff u get an F. we are not allowed to use our phones AT ALL during school. If we take them with us they have to be turned off or in airplane mode and we usually aren’t officially allowed to use them in the breaks or on the school grounds in general but no one cares about that, everyone uses it in the breaks... love ur content ☁️ Lara :)

Just a heads up in Germany Grundschule means elementary school and not high school because in Germany when you’re done with elementary school you go to either the gymnasium the Realschule ... there are many diffrent types this happens depending on your skill level for example all the very talented kids go to the Gymnasium which is a bit harder than the Realschule were the normal kids go etc. after your done with this school if you dont have you Abitur yet you can do it or not and then after you studi at unis 😂 but none the less i love your videos they are awsome danke fürs lesen ciao 😂❤️🇩🇪😋 Edit : you were probably at a Gymnasium and yes ist normal that everyone does sport together 😋
