It's more like 3 years. There was a 8 month timejump between Season 2 & 3. Then a 1 month time jump between season 3 & 4. Between S6E8 en S6E9 was a 2 month timejump too. Besides everything that has happened. It's more like 3 years now.

Carl at his death could definitely be like 15. It’s a little bit of a stretch but if the apocalypse began when he was 12 it could work

Carls rate of growth seems ok with me, because I've been watching for, and he's been growing for years. It's not like he wasn't around, and then all of a sudden he popped up and we are like wow he's gotten too big to play Carl.

This show has lost almost everyone we care about. Probably why I haven't even finished last season yet. You cant kill everyone off and keep rotating the cast forever and expect people to still care. This isnt survivor or Big Brother. The recent time jump where Judith aging is stupid. All these years in the future I would expect most Walkers to finally be decomposed enough to be really dead or unable to walk at least. And with that many tears in the future wolf and other wild animal populations should be spiking, making wild animal attacks being the main concern. A few walkers are no match for a freaking grizzly bear. Doubt they could even bite through the fur to kill one. Animals should really be lowering the Walker population as well as decomposing which should if not killing them should be making them immobile. The real threat going a decade in the future would be other humans and animals. With only the occasional walkers here and there. But nooooo, not like they would do that. If the show was smart, they would let Judith get bitten, and find out that anyone born after is immune. That would give the show an out. A way to end the series on a positive. Like show 30 years in the future to a society that has adapted, and the world being rebuilt. Have Daryl or Carol narrate about how all they did was for the future, and they made it happen, blah blah blah.

dumbass the some of are decomposed but i think u forgot that if u die u turn into a walker there maybe at that time like 3-4 bil people left maybe no walker is going to survive 10 years but some walkers can survive 3-4 years maybe

Hey Sydni, we can a little bit. Just as with many things in the story if we look too close we can see holes. They did do a decent job so far with switching out actors for Judith so at least she wouldn't age too fast for the show. Judith died early in the comics so we do not have that reference. She should be 1 year old in the show. But add 9 months to that plus a few weeks .......and it puts us past 624 days which is what the official timeline says we get to at the start of Season 8. Again, I don't think they write/produce the show with great accuracy for all the things we fans try to pick apart. But her age is soooooo much closer to the real timeline than Carl's for sure! - Thanks as always for always watching and commenting!

The only part where I think it shows how old he is, is at terminus in the cart and the cliffhanger then it watching the next one immediately after it’s like damn how long have they been in there

Actually it was more around 2 and a half years because when Rick blew up the bridge it was 4 years in, 1 and a half years ago it was the saviour war

I also want a winter montage of the survivors going around in winter just bashing in frozen zombie skulls. I assume in winter after a nice snow storm walkers would be pretty frozen unable to move, and it would be easy to kill them, but the show has yet to have the group take advantage of this fact and clear some if the dead from the world around them, thus making them safer.

I imagine they could use winter as an opportunity to clear out nearby towns of walkers thus making future scavengering safer. The show really needs to explore this idea!

I don't agree that only 2 years have passed after the breakdown... the houses/towns and highways looked very run down and all the greenery shows more than 2 years have passed in my opinion. ...

I agree the show makes it look like it has been longer through Carls age and the scenery sometimes....FTWD has only been two months and that show already had complete communities built up around trading and such. Many things we just have to overlook and enjoy the rest! - Thanks for watching!

Yeah, it's crazy to think so much has happened in FTWD in such a short amount of time, this isn't unheard of as i'm pretty sure the first half of TWD S6 took place in only a few days. You can complain and say "it doesn't make sense" or you can just say the Characters adapted to the apocalypse fast.

im inclined to agree, the show does give the vibe that more than just 2 years, even on the long side has transpired. the comic had a time skip/jump of about 2 years at the end of all out war, if i remember correctly, not worth arguing over for sure. just kick back and groove on the show.. It's not 1.7 years. It's kind of like 3 years. I can prove this because shes ten by the 6 year time jump and she was 4 after the one year time jump between 8 and 9

I think this could be added too the fact why Carl's character in the show wasn't that important too AMC and they didn't wanted to hand pick a kid with the same age as Comic Carl (Henry for example) and portrait his true characterization and importance to TWD, his father,Negan and everyoone in that narrative from TWD he read about it. Maybe they could have pulled the "Judith castings" on TWD and have diferent actors playing Carl and still keeping with his actual age from the comics. Just a thought! AMC really as screwed up alot of things for TWD but im here for TWD and not AMC! and i always will until the show comes to an end in a few years. Another great video The Walking Dead Explained!

If Carl actually dies, then it's very likely that Henry will be replacing Carl and continues Carl's story arc into the Whisperers and everything that comes after. Henry is around 13/14 years old which is Carl's comic age, he's a real badass and acted alot like Carl when he was younger. He's driven to fight and kill to avenge his brother's death and he isn't afraid of Walkers. If Carl dies, Henry is the best choice for them to continue Carl's story.

This is mostly accurate, except Carl couldn't have aged that much between seasons 6-8 bc Maggie hasn't had her baby yet. I'm assuming that 6-8 is all connected bc of all our war.

They most definitely should have switched out actors. For one, because of the age thing. And two, Chandler Riggs couldn't act his way out of a wet paper bag. Even Riggs himself said so and that he should have taken acting lessons. I've seen Chandler in interviews and he seems like a nice enough guy, but when Carl was killed off, I for one was tickled pink. No RIP for Grimey Carl Grimes.
