What is Horizon: Survival Mode Expanded?
Horizon is a large scale overhaul of Fallout 4 that rebalances and expands the gameplay from the ground up. It contains thousands of changes, redesigned systems, and new additions to very carefully balance everything together. The goal of this mod is to create a more challenging and immersive experience.
Horizon adds new difficulties and challenges to Fallout 4 survival mode, which ultimately makes it a much more immersive experience. Difficulty can be selected during mod installation and increases incoming damage on the player. Desolation mode adds another layer of difficulty.

not sure if you were aware, but you should never have a problem with Resource Stations -- call Wilson, and near the bottom of his command menu is the option to make a resource station scrap kit in the field. it's definitely a nice option to have for unlocking those distant settlements in the mid-game.

31:18 ...Don't take out the arms unless you want them to attempt a kamikaze attack. Go for the legs then toss in a grenade if you're in an enclosed area.

FYI in 1.9.4 expedition sites also require power, so you'll need to go drop a generator or solar panel at Norhargen beach and the airport. I want to say it's at least 10 power, I usually just drop the larger solar panel which gives 15. Also at some point you're going to want to build a chemical plant and set it up so it takes your salt and gives you chlorine every production cycle to automate you're purified water.

About how long do your playthroughs last? I quit my horizon playthrough after 90 hours, just needed a break lol. Waiting for 2.0!

Great Videos, many thanks. Its made my life a lot easier. One question, I’m on V1.9.4d Apr 2024 and trying to upgrade Workshop Technology Via the Tech Lab or Universal Crafting Station but I can’t see how to do this. On the previous Horizon Version there was actually a tab to upgrade it in the mentioned crafting stations, but not now. All I can see under Technology and Workshop headings are the usual options but now a Workshop Skill training Tab. As it suggests this upgrades Workshop Skill e.g Chemistry, engineering, science etc but can’t see Workshop Technology upgrade. Under any heading in Universal Crafting Station or Tech Lab I can’t see any info on how to upgrade my Workshop Technology. Any help appreciated as I’m going bonkers trying to find out how to raise it.

it took me a while too, because the documentation says you raise Workshop Technology with Engineer missions, but you have to have WT level 1 to make Engineer mission stations in the architect menu -- annoying. i ended up having to use almost all of the vendor credits found in the museum for one training session, and then grind to 60 chemistry (there's a few, i chose chemistry) for another. i think it's set up that way as a bit of a level restriction because you only need WT 1 to update Wilson for auto-scavenging, and it was effectively locked out 'til i got to level 10 or so.

I wonder if this vertibird activation brickage is related to Wilson scrap/scavange functionality screwing alias assignment or yanking something critical.

Unlikely - it's one of the bugs listed on the Wiki for vanilla Fallout 4.

@@Kezardin hmmm, interesting. I have never encountered it in vanilla, only with horizon like Wandy. Extra sus I have to admit.
