I really like this tutorial, and because of the amount of armour it looks like you could paint a army very quickly

This looks so great that I think I am going to go pick up a pack of Perry knights right now. I plan on airbrushing the main metallic color to knock out most of the basecoat step quickly. Thanks for the tutorial :)

IT depends on what you want to do! My Empire knights for fantasy have black steel, which is much easier to do with a black spray. But for my infantry I prefer lighter colors, to which I use white.

Thanks a lot I didn’t even see all the details! But I just spray primed in chainmail, did a wash wish nuln oil and added the details later. Went out fine that way and saved me hours of work.

Great tutorial! Can you comment on varnishing please? Does a matt varnish kill the metallics? Thank you.
@PeteTheWargamer8 жыл бұрын
It's a bit of a strange one really, matt varnish is designed to remove the glossiness of miniatures often as the result of using inks or washes. Now in theory it shouldn't effect the shininess of metals because that is achieved by small metal flakes in the paint and not the surface itself. In my experience matt varnish won't kill your metals but it will take a slight shininess off them.

@henryvagincourt5 жыл бұрын
@@j.k.4761 + I would agree, I'm not sure how they are slippy, as they fit over shoes, with a thin metal plate similar to a horse bit holding the toe and a strap around the ankle. With out sabaton's guess where a good opponent is going to target, not to mention English arrow fire.

Hi, why didn´t you use the gun metal spray?

@owainwilliams29498 жыл бұрын
I always go for grey over black, you can see the details easier and it gives a slightly darker tone. Wish you made more videos like this I'm thinking of making a wars of the roses army based on a real family. I'll probably do the Neville's if I go through with the plan. Brilliant video though, really useful, thanks!

Looking to getback into painting miniatures, would you recomend these over warhammer? Great videos by the way (:
@PeteTheWargamer8 жыл бұрын
They aren't quite as intricate as Warhammer which means they can be quite forgiving if you don't have as steady a hand. They are a little smaller though and if you haven't painted anything in a while then some of larger chunky Stormcast Eternals from Games Workshop might be a better choice.

Thanks for the great tutorial. I noticed you working exclusively in Army Painter paints in this video. Can you speak to why you made this choice?(Just curious).
@PeteTheWargamer8 жыл бұрын
I mainly use GW paints for GW minis and Army Painter for everything else. The main reason is that I find that Army Painter is great for painting up large armies for games like Kings of War and Bolt Action. However for GW miniatures, I find them to be much more intricate and so the more expansive range of colours from GW allow me to really bring those details to life.
