One thing that I thought was weird was how many times you can hit a person with the lightsabers in the duels before they actually die. I kind of understand though, most fights would only last a few seconds if they did it realistically

Star Wars games really need a Metal Gear Rising Revengence cut everything up system. Kinda crazy that game came out a decade ago and Star Wars games still haven't done this, but the new games have pretty much every other good game mechanic in it.
@witherwolf3316 Жыл бұрын
Against anybody who doesn't have a lightsaber, yes. But enemies with a lightsaber? No. Those fights lasted pretty long and they always ended with one fatal strike. The healthbar just doesn't make sense. I think a better system would be each boss having multiple "stamina" or "guard" bars, and each time you break those bars their attack style changes somewhat. Maybe they get more aggressive, or more defensive, or evasive, whatever. But the best part would be the bar would quickly refill unless you kept up your attacks, meaning breathing room for you is also a respite for them. This would still make the combat pretty decent while not having enemies with big glowing gashes in their torsos still fighting.
@Stumme-40203 Жыл бұрын
It’s just to make the game more fun. If it was realistic, boss fights would be about 30 seconds. I do wish they made it so you never actually hit the person till the last blow, because they do feel like glow sticks at times.

@@BillyBobJoeSurviv I never said the originals and prequels don’t have bad duels (they do). The problem I have with the sequel duels more than anything else is how outrageously nonsensical the choreography is. In the originals, the duels were like classic sword duels, and I think they hold up pretty well. In the prequels, they were a little overly grandiose clashes between powerful space wizards. A little over the top and ridiculous, but not sloppy like we’re seeing know. I don’t mean sloppy like the whole “the characters are still learning” thing, I mean sloppy like the fighters making decisions that don’t make sense. Look up a breakdown of the Praetorian fight in episode 8, and you’ll see what I mean. I think the main problem is that Disney is rushing these projects through development, so the choreographers don’t have time to fine tune things and the actors don’t have time to learn it. Compare that to the prequels and originals, where the choreographers and actors had months during the preproduction stages to prepare and practice. I’m staying “hating on the sequels” because I’m frustrated that the bigwigs behind it don’t give their teams time to make anything actually good.

Why are there lightsaber fighting videos always so good? Great jokes by the way and I am loving this game. Jedi Survivor is one of the best Star Wars video game sequels that I've ever played. I can't wait to see what they do for the and Cal's next Adventure

2:29 okay something I don’t understand about duels with double blades. If your opponent only has one can’t you just… lock sabers with them with one saber and just shove the other one in their stomach or something?
@22BulletProofKid22 Жыл бұрын
Not sure about lightsabers but irl, with 2 swords you can't put as much strength into each sword bcos the other person gets to wield their sword with 2 hands while you only get one hand per sword so it's hard to block their attacks. Also 2 swords are heavier than one so you get more tired.

One of the best melee combat games of all times. The guns and shooting is quite satisfying as well. Nowadays we got this soulslike crap with lightsabers. Original game development is fckn dead and Fromsoft killed it

@@Yorikoification This is pretty hyperbolic. Gaming trends come and go, and to be frank, From's influence will hardly last as nobody has really successfully replicated their formula or evolved it meaningfully, nor do devs realize that From games are inherently niche. Maybe it leaves a little bit of lasting influence in making difficult games slightly more mainstream, or popularizing a way of doing stamina, or some small detail like that, but I highly doubt 10 years from now we'll even remember what the term soulslike means. But in any case, the seed of your statement isn't really true either. Gaming is an iterative art form. Originality didn't die when Doom was getting cloned, and those clones were MUCH more blatant. Not to mention, that process eventually birthed highly influential games like Half-Life. In a year or two, there will be some new hotness on the gaming scene, everyone will copy it, and someone else will make your exact comment, only replacing From's name with a different developer, while they wax nostalgic about some game that came out in the mid 2010s.
@Yorikoification Жыл бұрын
@@alphajackal6648 Dark Souls 1 came out 12 fricking years ago and the soulslikes don't stop coming. I know that trends come and go but I'm getting old and I wish for new kinds of games to be made before I crumble to dust. What the heck do you mean "From's influence will hardly last"? It's been more than a bloody decade! As for nobody successfully replicated it.....There are an absolute fudgeton of soulslikes were some do certain parts of the game better than their origins. The combat is so simple that it's one of the easiest to replicate by far. Judging from most of the populace tho, everyone is endlessly praising that game design and can't take any criticism made towards it but it's got a ton of undeniable, glaring issues. As long as it's being treated like this kind of perfect formula I dread that nothing is going to change in the gaming industry. This trend has gone on for so long snd every goddamn fantasy or medieval game made these days just copy pastes Dark Souls stupidly simplistic "dodge and attack" combat.

@@100percentNotaBot Jedi Academy HAS proper fighting. Getting a clean hit on your opponent SHOULD instakill them when you're wielding a fricking beam of pure light capable of cutting through almost any material! They're not gore enthusiasts, they're enjoyers of games with good, original mechanics.

@@100percentNotaBot It's not about the gore so much as it's about the satisfaction of seeing your attack actually having some impact and consequence. Unless they have a phobia of gore, I see most streamers going WHOA! when they cut a persons head off.
