Sounded quite good to me, but sometimes hard to discern sound quality with my iPad speakers. I suggest you keep it for a time and to see how you feel about the guitar …. Do you find yourself picking it up and playing it or not? Would you gig with it or not etc? The answers to such questions will lead to a decision. Cheers fro Ottawa, Canada. Love your videos.

I’ve only had it back a day so am unsure if it grabs me. It is very unique and funky which is really nice. Now the work has been done it sounds pretty decent actually. I agree regarding speakers etc. The time might come to get a better recording setup for these anyway. Thanks though. It’s appreciated. 🎯🎼🎯

Having the money to buy and store them all, i could not resist my G.A.S. They all speak with their distinctive voices, they are like human fingerprints. And for the sake of the lord, i cannot afford to collect them, they don´t deserve to rot as collectors items. They need to be played. This Airline is a very charming couch-instrument indeed. High Martyn, I think you might keep this one. The sound is less louder and the middle and bass tone aren't there like with the other ones. Still it is a peace of art in history and the authenticity is there in your hands. In high regard, T🎶

I like that funky cheap tone it produces. This is different and that's reason enough to keep it and add to your collection. Plus you seem to have already bonded with it.

It’s unique and funky, you say. Why wouldn’t a resonator collector and aficionado such as yourself not want to keep it. Frankly, I don’t know how you rate sound on a resonator other than how funky is it and how unique is it. I like it, and I like the sound. It may never become your go-to gigging instrument, but it’ll be a nice addition to your collection. You know, unless you need the money you’ll get by selling it.

All I can tell you is "if it were me." I'm a reluctant collector of guitars and my goal is to only keep what I use regularly. Every guitar I have should have a purpose or a song that is best suited for. As a result of this rationally directed collecting I presently only have 8 guitars and my wife has 2, plus 5 ukuleles. So you see how successful one can be at keeping the herd small with a rational approach (heh heh). So I probably wouldn't keep it. Or I would try not to keep it. Or maybe just keep it for a little while. Like a few months or maybe a year or two, but no more. Then sell it, only to a good home, and then only with a first refusal agreement. But, Martin, you seem to be a different sort so why not just keep it since you already have a sizable collection where it would have plenty of company.
@TheWashboardResonators2 жыл бұрын
Nicely put! I always like the first refusal idea!

Thanks for another cool video. OK, so it ain’t a National, but it sounds nice in its own way. It’s an instrument with character and something different, part of resonator history, so if I were you I’d keep it as an interesting collection piece👍

I say keep it. It doesn’t sound like a wood or metal body for obvious reasons. But as you say unique and certainly not bad. I thought it was going to be a bit more banjo like as presumably the fibreglass is stiff and not very resonant. Quite surprised by it.

You know iv played about 12 of these , red, white, black in shops over the years. With different names on the headstock. I honestly have been totally unimpressed by every one of them. They are my least favorite resanator. Iv never owned one. I did have a friend lend his to me for 6 months ( he wanted me to buy it off him) . I gave it back and sied no thank you.
@TheWashboardResonators2 жыл бұрын
Interesting that you’ve played that many. When I got this it was pretty junky. It’s perfectly decent now. You’ve got the point though. No one is ever going to think these are great guitars when compared to great examples of the classic 1920s & 30s guitars. It’s how much the quirkyness offsets the house space of having something a bit special instead.
@andywilliams29422 жыл бұрын
@@TheWashboardResonators totally. National made students models of these ( think they were made in the 50s just the first year or two that vaco started making them for them) they were not bad. But by the later years for this model they really cheaped out on the quality. The sound quality ( even when set up properly) really didn't wow me. Your absolutely right . It would definitely depend on if you wanted something with that sound.
