I'll confirm the habit replacement theory. I smoked for 30 years and decided to start weaving paracord to help me quit since I've already tried and failed numerous times. Well in my case it worked. I don't weave such as I did when I started but it still comforts me during times of stress and keeps my mind focused on less complicated issues.

Glad you were able to quit smoking and also happy to hear it was paracord that helped you get through it!

Good info. That's one of the many reasons i enjoy knot tying, especially long sinnets, bell rope construction, etc. It keeps these old, arthritic hands and the remaining brain cells from fossilizing. Thanks.

Fossilizing brain cells are a real thing! And thanks! Glad we have this hobby to keep the hands busy and the mind active, appreciate you stopping by as always!

I made a socket-and-nut version a long time ago. I have no clue how to properly use them, like you do, but they still became my favorite thing to fidget with. I need to make your monkey fist version, now.

Where did you get those beads
@TheWeaversofEternity3 күн бұрын
I bought those on eBay from China a long time ago and I unfortunately don't have a link for them. You can use a couple of hex nuts in place of that single bead if you can't find something similar though

🤗Hey Dude. Just right for my arthritis. Though you'll never know it with my stuff, these help me continue. It's the real reason I don't show me weaving alot on film. Now you know I'm gonna use your ideas on some of them😊😅😂, right?👏🏽

Haha, I'm glad the hobby has been able to help with your arthritis and yeah that's totally fine man, I'm happy to be your source of inspiration I hope! 😁

Heres challenge. Hold and tie knot with only one hand. Getting other fingers outaway is real pisser.

I heard that monkey's fists are illegal in the UK now. Why the f would they be illegal? 🤔
@TheWeaversofEternity2 күн бұрын
I think that's probably based on the idea that a monkey's fist can be used as a weapon which is called a slungshot. The UK has some of the strictest weapon laws so I'm not surprised if they are in fact illegal.
