Slight correction. Yumachika actually doesn’t like his zanpakto because it’s kido based and he’s in the 11th division who prefer pure melee zanpakto. So he calls it orange peacock when it’s true name is blue peacock. It doesn’t like orange because in color theory orange is the opposite color of blue. Edit: It’s called Wisteria Peacock, which is a light purple, and not Orange Peacock. Wisteria is the zanpaktos lease favorite color not orange. I think as a kid I just assumed wisteria was a type of orange because of its relationship to blue. And it’s been so long I didn’t actually think I needed to look it up. It just stood out to me, which with how close I was to the actual reason.

Mild correction: The 9th Espada wasn't a Vasto Lorde. He was actually a Gillian before becoming an arrancar. Grimmjaw was an adjuchas. Implied everyone under the 4th Espada wasn't a Vasto Lorde. Yumichika basically insults his Zanpakto by misnaming it and the spirit gets butthurt and limits its release, which works for Yumichika because he is in a division that is melee oriented and he doesn't want the shame of having a kido type sword.

A correction to your correction, with spoilers from CFYOW. Grimmjow (along with Nelliel) are described as Vasto Lorde class Arrancars. Simply put, Grimmjow became a Vasto Lorde after his flashback ended (eating a piece of his Fraccion) but before meeting Aizen. Even years before then (IRL), one of the Databooks (can't recall which one) said "most of the Espada" are Vasto Lorde. Aaroniero is a Gillian, Yammy is likely an Adjuchas, Szayel is an Adjuchas (formerly a Vasto Lorde...SAFWY is weird), Zommari is unconfirmed either way. Starrk, Baraggan, Harribel, Nelliel, Ulquiorra, Nnoitra and Grimmjow are all Vasto Lordes.

Great vid, and yeah its weird ranking races based on average levels since they do vary alot. Its pretty hard to rank them since races introduced earlier in the series is gonna seem weaker. Also note, Yamamoto and Unohana are way older the 2000 years old. We know Yama was already old 2000 years ago and Unohana was around at that time too making them both well over 2000, probably ATLEAST 5000

The commenter above is right. Examples of a Transcendent beings are Yhwach, Aizen, Ichigo and Ichibei. Notice how only one of them is a Hybrid : Ichigo. Yhwach is a pure quincy. Ichibei is a pure shinigami. Aizen took some characteristics of a hollow, but never become one. He just used said characteristics to surpass the shinigami. Being transcendent doesn’t necessarily mean you are a hybrid. But being hybrid literally guarantees you the path to become transcendent. If you live long enough and fine your abilities, you can break through the race limitations and become op. Goes to show you how crazy Aizen is both in terms or power and intellect, when he’s a transcendent being younger than a thousand years old (While Ichibei is literally millions of years long). Ichigo was just born with the potential. Aizen become one by himself, creating, possibly, the most powerful being currently as a side-effect…

****Spoilers for the TYBW and CFYOW Novel**** Great video Nick, just a small detail, Ichigo and the Soul King are more of hybrids rather than transcendent beings. This a difficult topic and a very big topic of discussion for many years in the community because the term “transcendent” only comes up once in the series and is completely ditched because is very hard to pin point. The only two people ever called transcendent beings are Ichigo and Aizen in a very specific situation and its mainly used as a plot point to indicate that Aizen’s reiatsu is above most shinigamis and they’re not able to sense him and when Ichigo comes back from the Dangai his is in another level of reiatsu where Aizen can’t feel him; The whole transcendent topic is very hard and convoluted so most fans just disregard it. Now as in hybrids, these are supposed to be the “strongest” race of all because they’re a combination of Hollows, Shinigamis, Humans and Quincies in one and there are 3 and a half hybrids, Ichigo, the Soul King, Hikone and Ginjo Kugo (I said 3 and a half because Ginjo doesn’t have Quincy blood but is still consider a hybrid). They’re the strongest race because they are able to use and sometimes combine their 3 powers. I don’t want to give you examples because they’re spoilers for the TYBW and the novels but if you’re interested just look up Ichigo’s first fight against Ywach or Hikone’s fight in Can’t Fear Your Own World novels. One last thing about the other two, Aizen and Ywach, Ywach is the Quincy King so he should be more catalogued as part of the Quincies but later he kind of becomes a hybrid by absorbing and gaining his father’s power. Aizen is still a shinigami but due to the Hogyoku he could possibly change himself to be different races but that is just mainly speculation.

As far as the most powerful race I would give it to Shinagami/Hollow because both are just way to versitle and op with their abilities. They're also heavily tied to one another as shinagami can gain Hollow powers and hollows can gain shinagami powers. So vizards and Arrancar aren't separate species just shinagami or hollow with the power of the other. A Zanpaktu spirit is the soul of the shingami. I would place the quincy next, they only appeared so powerful in the war because of outside power. All of the sternritter were artificially buffed in power by Yhwach and Jugram. Yhwach can empower them with a shrift while being around Jugram makes you stronger just by being near him. Even their main defensive power blut vene is controlled by Yhwach something said by Quilge. Then full bringers who are just humans with a piece of the soul king. So they're not that special imo as all the other races can possess a piece of the soul king.

Also of note Hikone Ubuginu from Bleach: Can't Fear Your Own World Novels *might* count as a fifth Transcendent Being. Maybe. It was an artificial Hybrid meant to mimic what Ichigo Kurosaki was naturally in order to Usurp the Soul King at least, and it has exhibited the traits of the 3 major races, as well as a pinch of Soul King (via Fullbringer) thrown in for good measure. Whether it is transcendent or not is really down to how successful of a creation you think Hikone is.

The name thing is debatable, because his name is supposed to be a reference to Yahweh. Which would imply that Yhawach is pronounced "Yah-wak". Although Yamamoto in the anime did pronounce it the way you said, so I don't know.

4 races Human, Hollow, Quincy, and Shinagami. Full bringers, vizards, and arrancar aren't a hybrid race. Full bringers are humans with a piece of the soul king, vizards are shinagami with hollow powers, and arrancar are hollows who have removed their mask thus becoming more like shinagami.

Simultaneously, that are vessals for peices of the Soul King but that has nothing to do with their race. Vizards are Soul Reapers (Souls) who became mutated and gained Hollow powers. They are Soul/Hollow hybrids. Arrancar are Hollows who removed their masks to mutate and gain human forms and Soul Reaper powers, thereby becoming Hollow/Soul hybrids, the exact opposite of Vizards. The Quincy as a race are humans whose souls have been mutated by the power of Yhwach, gaining the bloodline of the Soul King. Therefore they are hybrids in the same way Fullbringers are half Human, half Hollow. We don't know *what* the Soul King is so we can't say what the true Quincy race is. Is he a Soul who gained Transcendent power like Aizen, whether naturally or artificially? A Hollow? A natural born hybrid like Ichigo? Something else entirely? We don't know and therefore I'm only comfortable using the standard Quincy, ie the humans like Uryu

Ig if you stretch it they can be considered a hybrid race since they were born that way however Ukitake and Matsumoto had a piece of the soul inside them. Vizards, Arrancar, and Quincy definitely are not hybrid races. Vizards are shinagami who acquired Hollow power they would have died from soul suicide if not for Urahara while Arrancar are Hollow who act like shingami they weren't born that way but that made that way. Arrancar don't have any shinagami in them at all. Quincy are born quincy hence they're their own race distant from humans.

@@diamantemrobinson technically, you're right. If you use the exact definition, "hybrid" is the wrong word and "mutant" would be more accurate. But they are, in effect, a combination of two races which is why I said hybrid. It's even confirmed their reiatsu structure is affected. It doesn't matter if the cause of the fusion is the piece from the Soul King (neved heard that before BTW, only that the Soul King piece is why their mother was attacked in the first place). All that matters is that they are a fusion of human and Hollow. It is unknown if a Soul can even give birth to a Fullbringer due to concept of Soul Suicide. The only true Quincy is the Soul King or peices of him. The human quincy are hybrids as they are humans who've been genetically altered in order to use God's power, or the are the decendents of those who were altered. This is proven by the fact that they can specifically lose their Quincy powers and survive perfectly fine, as well as the fact we know their power comes from Yhwach's Soul sliver inside them.

The problem with ranking would that, like any other shounen, the enemies intruduced later are stronger It also doesn't help that there are many hybrids, be it ichigo, the vizards, maybe even the arrancar(not sure if they count sence they can naturaly evolve) If you ask me hollow have the most raw power out all them, a vasto lorde is stated to be superior to Captain Shinigami have the same advantage over hollows like how humans have over animals in our world, they can create tools more advanced then hollows sence outside of adhucha(not sure if this how you spell it) and above they lack intelligence and even if they did there is only sand in hueco mundo so they cant make anything and have to rely on their natural abilities
