I also think Itachi strength wise falls right about where you placed him, but his battle IQ (which is just downright absurd, lowkey immeasurable) would allow him to punch far above his weight. Not enough, in most cases, to take out those that are far beyond him in power, but enough that he would likely be a huge assisting factor in dealing w any major battle. I'd say he'd even be a factor in otsutsuki battles. not as a combatant mind you, but in formulating a strategy on the fly. That's probably his wildest hack as a character that isn't really scalable. He's just unmatched in understanding the situation, being keenly aware of the tools available for both sides, and then working out the optimal approach. all on the fly, and to an extent we don't really see others capable of. at least not as effortlessly as he seems to do it.

A full body, perfect Susanoo with the Yata Mirror and Totsuka Blade would be kinda dummy OP. If Itachi had awakened the EMS by taking Sasuke's eyes then I actually think he could have awakened the Rinnegan (even not being Indra's reincarnation), as if he implanted something like Hashirama Cells then Ashura's Chakra would be able to react with Sasuke's eyes, as they still would have both Sasuke's and Indra's Chakra in them. It might take a near death experience for that to happen though, as both Sasuke and Madara had to be on the verge of death to awaken the Rinnegan. Also I think it's entirely reasonable to think that healthy Itachi *could* have become a Sage considering that he knew what Ryuchi Cave was, so assuming that he would be able to withstand the training then he could have just gone to Ryuchi Cave himself and learned how to control Nature Energy from the White Snake Sage without needing someone like Orochimaru to train him. The fact that he researched Ryuchi Cave at all might suggest that, in canon, Itachi actually once might have wanted to become a Sage, but ultimately didn't because his body began to fail him and he became too sick.

Awaking rinnegan is limited to indra incarnation. If itachi took ms of sasuke and implant in his eye and then if he get hahsirama cell then he wont be able to awaken rinnegan because the moment itachi gonna implant ms of sasuke, sasuke's chakra would get mixed with itachi's chakra which will make it itachi's own chakra.

Or maybe there is a group of secret Aburame or there that's trying to keep things balanced so whenever anyone gets a little too strong, they send out bugs to poison a person slowly over time and that's how Naruto got the sickness too. They were just able to find a cure for him though. (I know it's a pretty silly idea I just want the Aburame to be bigger in the naruverse)

Healthy EMS Itachi would scale roughly to EMS Madara. The super dumbed down argument would be as follows; Sick MS Itachi ~ Minato ~ Tobirama ~> Izuna ~ MS Madara Then presume EMS amp is roughly on par between characters, Not being sick amps Itachi further, and lastly Totsuka Blade and Yata Mirror make up any power differential.

Often these discussions are determining strength via straight power. Itachi's "strength" was never that he could straight up Stat-check anyone he fought, but that he is extremely strong, AND his battle IQ\coordination was next level. Definitely a harder thing to measure, but I figure the only shinobi that could outwit Itachi would be Shikamaru, who gets stat checked handily. Does that make him the "strongest"... Nope. But it does mean he will win fights in which he is outgunned, which imo is more important.

@cfakatsuki17 Everyone gains 2 MS abilities as long as they have 2 eyes, obito awakens 2 forms of kamui ( 1 in his eye and other in kakashi's), itachi awakens tsukuyomi and amaterasu (itachi had 2 abilities and never gained the EMS), sasuke awakens amaterasu and kurotsuchi. Gaining the EMS just makes you stronger and unlocks stronger forms of the susanoo

Shisui Uchiha, Shino Aburame, Zabuza Memochi, Haku Yuki, Rock Lee, Asuma Sarutobi, Kurenai Yuhi, Kimimaro Kaguya, Kurostuchi of Iwa(Onoki granddaughter and should have learned Kekkei Tota), and Sai. Those Shinobi I listed are some mention and some similar to Itachi like Kimimaro Kaguya in terms of disease. Not to mention Lineages or connections/Ranks this earned to whom they battled and encountered. Some characters did die, but i felt like Jonin Ranks in the Anime/Manga should mean insane potential these Shinobi achieved or at Jonin Level because of their skills alone.

idk.. a full power itachi, vs madara would be a fun fight to see though. Like yes the possibility of him actually winning would be low, it would be there and seeing two battle geniuses go toe to toe would be awesome. Also if anyone was going to hit madara with a genjutsu, it would be itachi. I'd see it like itachi replacing guy when sasuke and naruto are talking to hagoromo... itachi and madara are going toe to toe for a little bit, madara playing around a little bit allows itachi to land a tsukuyomi similar to how he stood there and just tried to block the night guy kick... and madara survives a 60+ year tsukuyomi but ends up in a similar state to how he was with night guy where he congratulates itachi before promptly speed blitzing the tired out itachi and kills him (naruto saving guy is stupid af and shouldn't have happened)

I know ima Obito Stan but. DMS Obito pretty much wrecks the Universe. Especially if he had EMS and got the Same Susano Kakashi shown with the Kamui Shuriken. I always thought his Kamui ability was the best MS in the Show but adding The other Eye makes him Unbeatable especially if you factor in his Hashirama cells.
