I don't care about the MCU anymore. It's washed up and imo the story ended with endgame (though, I did like falcon and winter soldier quite a bit). On the other hand, the superman trailer is tomorrow and I'm beyond hyped for that. It'll be interesting to see how desperate marvel gets if superman does well.

To be honest I didn’t like Cap’s ending at all, it felt like a selfish move from a hypocrite and ruined Peggy’s character development and independence in her own show. After Civil War it might’ve been better for Steve to sacrifice his life to save Tony which definitely makes up for keeping Hydra killing his parents secret.

I mean this is cool and all, but there are a few characters that aren’t dead that need to be brought back. Hulk, Rhodey, Nick Fury, Falcon, etc are all alive but have been ruined by being sidelined or given terrible arcs. What ever happened to Shang Chi which I thought was alright, but everyone seemed to love him and called him an avenger cuz he had a 20 sec convo with beta Bruce banner 🤦🏽‍♂️ I’m not even starting on how they did my boy taskmaster smh

I agree. Look at the hype there was for something like ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’. We had gone 10 years since the last mainstream ‘Star Wars’ film and the hype was insane. Future ‘Star Wars’ films and ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ won’t have the same impact, I don’t think.

Doesn’t matter how long they wait if they don’t get some writers with any talent. I don’t think there’s a superhero movie fatigue, or we need those big name actors. If the audience gets to experience the stories they want to hear with the characters they love, they will come to watch. There is an incompetence fatigue tho, as these companies seem hard pressed to deliver what they want you to want, rather than what you actually want. If I order chicken and I get steak, it doesn’t mean I hate steak, but that’s not what I ordered, so I’d be dissatisfied.

There’s a time and a place for cameos. In deadpool, every time there’s a cameo, it’s a joke, because deadpool is the cameo, self-aware character. Whereas the avengers movies have all been self contained within the characters that have been established, to create this great ultimate film. However, by loading it with cameos, they’ve clearly given up on building up characters, or have a lack of trust in the characters post endgame. Furthermore, Chris Evans already did a huge cameo once, so the second time is bound to be less hype.

Well, not really. Post endgame they actually had a pretty good string of successes with wandavision, loki, shang-chi, what if, and far from home. Eternals and black widow were pretty mid, but it wasn't until love and thunder, hawkeye, and she-hulk that we knew things were starting to go off the rails. And even then, we were getting awesome content like wakanda forever and loki season 2. It's kinda reductive to say that everything after endgame has been desperate, when that's very clearly untrue.

At this rate, the 'New Avengers Team' they're presumably going to introduce in Doomsday are going to get relatively little time to shine & the audience won't care about them if they keep bringing OG Avengers back (unless they can smartly & organically make that a story element of the movie!).

Just let Marvel and DC make their movies. If they have too many legacy characters or new casting or poorly adapted storylines, just let them release the movies. The leakers only make studios have to work harder based on fan feedback which dilutes the vision of the filmmakers. The movies will come out and they'll be bad or good, but if we start ignoring leakers for shit like this, the movies should be better. How much was leaked before Infinity War? Such a good movie

I have a controversial multiverse opinion: Kang is too complex a character for general audiences to understand. The multiverse saga should always have been about Doom as the main villain and setting him up at the centre of it. Fantastic Four should have been the first film post Endgame to start the saga and begin the rise of Doom It would have needed some sort of "New Avengers" or Assemble film in phase 4 to bring a new team together and build up towards a Doomsday and Secret Wars A later saga of Doom vs Kang would be great. But if the two I think Doom had to be introduced first as he's easier to understand and follow than Kang (even though I love Kang's character - it's hard to comprehend and visualise the complexity of the concept of infinite possibilities). Introduce Doom first and then later bring Kang in as a dueling partner of Doom (their battle in Venom War was sensational!)
