How well does it shed water when open? Specifically at the bottom edge. Does the outer shell catch water on the inside of the zipper?

There’s a rain gutter surrounding the outside of the zippers of the tent base, the material I feel shed off rain well and I have used it in the rain , but nothing to crazy. I have been in heavy wind storm and to be honest it was loud and hard to sleep in. So just watch out for that. For 1k tent how do you expect it to perform? Thanks for watching. Great questions 🍻

@@dunerunner wow such a small world, I have family in Livermore all of my life, love the area and so we stopped by to eat at the chilies. Should have stopped by, I was actually adjusting the tent back More so it would clear the front tongue box. I really like the tent it’s lightweight , slim and budget friendly. So far everything is looking good and did well on the back of our trailer going home. Ferdinand is not far from you he’s more than happy to show you a tent up close too! How good are the zipper while driving on dusty trails for awhile? Would it eventually jam up the zipper with dirt etc? Would water sip thru the zipper at the carwash?

I have had a zipper malfunction but lucky enough to have it on the end where it hinges. What’s weird is that the zipper doesn’t go both directions in that spot. So I’m down to one zipper that works both ways in that spot right now on one tent. I’ve never taken the tent through the car wash I don’t advise it.

Just like everything els you’ll want to keep things clean and I’m pretty sure there’s a dry silicone for zippers they recommend to flush out debris and lubricate the zippers.

So why isn't there a rear fold out?! I like the Ikamper type side fold out because of the smaller mounted foot print. These rear accessible clam shells could benefit the same if they folded out to the back. Furthermore I feel that having a lifted truck with tall bed rack and a tailgate kitchen would benefit from a rear fold out rtt being the kitchens roof. Am I the only one seeing this in my mind and wanting a manufacturer to design it?

We have gotten a lot of feedback from people that are 6’ and they fit comfortably in the RTT. We suggest client to tryout the same size RTT at your local REI to see if this platform will work for each individual person or not.

I would say he’s the go to guy for this tent, it may “appear” that way, but he definitely knew more about it than I myself just researching about it!
