I really liked this Bourbon as well. Some people who are cask-strength maniacs may find it too "easy sipping" but I think the mesquite gives it a very unique character.

Just opened my first Longbranch tonight and I REALLY like it. Almost embarrassed to say this, but this is my first Wild Turkey product. Spicy sweet upfront with a soft finish with lasting caramel. Just a little smoke and char in the background. I like my bourbon and whiskey under 100 proof and I sip Irish whiskey more than anything else. Picked this up on sale for $29.99. I will be sipping Longbranch while I'm grilling this weekend. Your channel and Mash & Drum are my two favorites! Great job as always!

You nailed the concerns 1 40 bucks or close to it and there are so many great options at 35 to 40. 2 the low proof point so this is considerably watered down I wish it was 94 proof. But you know what WT makes quality whiskey so I think I am gonna give it a try due to the unique smokey quality from the mesquite charcoal.

@TheWhiskeyDictionary5 жыл бұрын
BOURBON CRANBERRY SAUCE 1 12-oz bag fresh cranberries 2 cup sugar 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon 1/8 tsp vanilla extract 1/4 cup bourbon Preheat oven to 325°F. Combine cranberries, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla in a baking dish. Cover tightly with foil and bake until cranberries are tender and sugar is dissolved, stirring once. Cooking time will vary depending on baking dish but should be about 1 hour. Remove from oven and stir in bourbon. Refrigerate cranberry sauce until well chilled and sauce has thickened. Transfer to bowl and serve.

It's funny how different people's tastes can be. I'll never buy this again. To me, It's too watered down and in no way worth $15 - $20 more than regular 101. I do agree that it could be good for new or non Bourbon drinkers. We all like what we like and thank God we have so many choices. Cheers.

Don't know why there's so much scepticism about this offering from WT- is there anything they do that's not awesome??? I tried it and loved it- and a friend house sitting for me drank my whole bottle! It's basically a slightly mellowed and smoked Wild Turkey, since they only use one mashbill for all their bourbons. Enjoy!

I usually try to stay away from "celebrity" whiskeys because it seems a lot of these guys/gals are just lending their names to someone trying to make a buck from them. Plus, as if these people need even more money, these whiskeys are almost always overpriced and/or use some kind of gimmick to justify why you should spend even more money.....Three Chord Whiskeys (playing music/sound waves to generate more agitation in the barrel to allow more liquid to contact the barrel staves) with Mr. Pat Benatar (Neil Girardo) being one of the principals, allegedly. PLUS...the Three Chord I tried was simply repackaged MGP juice. I took a chance on the Longbranch cuz I read how the Russell boys are very particular about bourbon and didn't seem to be the kind of guys to "sellout" to some movie star. I have to say, I really enjoy this bourbon...which kind of ticks me off cuz I'm contributing to the coffers of a mega-rich movie star. But it is very smooth, very good tasting....I hate myself.

Here in Australia Longbranch is 40% ABV, and I can’t get myself to buy into the story about flavor that’s been watered-down for the sake of profit alone.
@TheWhiskeyDictionary5 жыл бұрын
I've been led to believe a lot of that has to do with an insane tax on importing alcohol.
@Robert_Fiori5 жыл бұрын
The Whiskey Dic Yes correct. However the extra tax would only result in a small increase in total shelf price. WT would rather get more sales with the current slightly lower price. I would happily pay the price at full ABV as I do for WT 101, Rare Breed and the Russell’s products. WT has diluted the Longbranch to make it attractive to a broader (and younger) market - and supported by actor featured marketing. It’s about profits.... which is fine. But a pity I need to order the proper 43% version online at multiples of it’s cost here just to try it.
@Robert_Fiori3 жыл бұрын
It’s 40%abv in Australia, and very lacking here as a result of being diluted from the genuine article there in the US at 43% As usual here, it is ascribed the accolades given the US version when in fact it’s an inferior product with that dilution of flavour.
