"Christian Hosoi said the definition of style is making something [hard] look easy". The vast majority of people have no idea how extraordinarily hard skateboarding is, and how accomplished these skaters are, and what a genius Keegan is. Ask any non-skater to stand on a lip with a deck under their feet and they will start to understand. Whatever it is pro skaters do to be so utterly fearless, creative, and cool, I want some of that. Massive respect.
@BlackCanvasAudio3 жыл бұрын
Nothing but respect for skaters bro. Been doing it for 30 years... a few compound fractures later and I can only watch 😆 I miss it but the lifestyle lives on.
@triplenineteen99603 жыл бұрын
You can ask a non-skater to just skate a straight line or take a turn while riding. Then they know that it takes a lot of practise to even think of executing any trick on street, park or vert.

There's just something about skating that kind of transcends man made borders. That's kind of the point of skating. When new talent gets the rep it deserves, it sort of feels like we can all be proud and say like "Yeah, they are our people. He's ours." And it doesn't matter what country you're from, because skating is such a universal language.

With his age, and skateboarding in the Olympics for the first time, this kid might go down as the most medal winning skater of all time.
@ProbablePaul3 жыл бұрын
The olympics are too restricted to be a meaningful determination of talent in skateboarding. First they have their arbitrary rules for choosing skaters, then, indirectly it's restricted by skaters that choose not to compete because they see it as disrespect to skateboarding. So, you only have a specific group of people that don't represent the best in skateboarding, sure, some of the best but not all of it. I think some people are right to avoid it, too. The commentators couldn't even name all the tricks properly, and that should be a minimum requirement for holding a skateboarding event. The whole thing is garbage.
