I'm up in the middle of the night watching gill netting videos. This is much better than sleeping!! lol Those Lakers made me hungry tho. Thanks for sharing Andrew!!

Great video. Some of those fish were really nice. There’s a lot of pride when you build something yourself. The satisfaction is hard to put into words.great job on the shack. 👍👍

My dad used to go to great slave and the mackenzie river from duluth mn. Long drive. Good fishing. Lots of nice walleyes.

I Gill netted on the B C coast until fisheries miss managed smiths inlet and Rivers inlet sockeye runs by spray the spawning creeks called (Hack and Squirt) just before the eggs hatched five years yup you heard me for five years they did this? Absolute madness OR WAS IT!

One thing I learned with my boat is to put it into reverse with a little more force. Don't ease it into reverse. The gears grind when you do that. There is a spring to help it pop into gear when going forward but there isn't any spring tension to do thay when going into reverse.

Definately was a freshwater cod in the net yep and was the first thing i thought of also was yummy dipped in the garlic butter👍Andrew even held it up for the camera..... good video and a pretty good net haul

Smoked Lakers are the best, used to sit down and eat a whole fish with my grandpa. Some good ones in your net!

The coney (real name Inconnu), is a huge predatory whitefish common throughout Siberia and Northern Canada. It feeds on Northern pike, ciscoes and sticklebacks. Like sharks, they need to keep swimming to ventilate their gills properly. When immobilized in a gillnet, they quickly drown.

The water is terrible this year due to hayriver flooding this spring, if you head towards Yellowknife it clears up a lot

Way different gill netting then here on lake superior we catch whitefish in spring in 120 to 170 ft Summer time when water reaches 50+ degree °F they go shallow! what are the 20 lbs fish we don't have those very cool video

My limited experience with nets makes a lead line guy for sure. Rough water or a clumsy fisherman and you have a flipped over net tub on the bottom of the boat! With lead line no problem But sinkers you have a frustrating tangled net.

No there still good nets they catch fish just lots of holes in them. The used nets will het given to members that can use them we will start with new nets.

Europe is also measureing up to 46 Celsius, we will wish for those temperature in the winter time wenn Mr. Putin is not selling us Russian gas. You can heat your Cabin with a weeks work cutting wood and living of the Land to a surton point, most of Europe is much to civilized for such a lifestyle. best greatings from Germany
