Deep! I personally know someone that went through this while in the university. Unfortunately, her parents supported the financier and practically disowned the sister when she turned down the financier's proposal in her 200 level. It was the fellowship that footed the rest of her school fees (from 300 level to final year). That sister is happily married to someone else today!😊

I beg to differ on the several comments I read here. The people did absolutely NOTHING wrong. If he was interested in her, he should have said it from the beginning and they would have weighed their options. Should we always demand for reciprocation over the assistance we render? No! Look at the way he was talking to them. If this lady agrees to marry him, he would neither respect her nor the mother. He would rather treat her as a commodity he had purchased with his money. The man is the one that is wicked. And the wickedness of our generation is when men insist on getting something back before they help someone. Today, many men demand for sexual gratification before they support students or help applicants get jobs. This is no different from that. This is wrong. I think we all need to check our worldviews, because they are evidently faulty. My take is people should be open about their desire and be open alsoto have others decide without being offended over the outcome of their request.

PLUS, if you know anything about banks, THE LEGAL BINDING contract to a loan FIRST CLEARLY states their requirements and criteria “for” loaning money. ANNND when an interest is sneaked in without FIRST being communicated to the borrower, it’s invalid because there was no initial agreement for it where the “TWO” parties involved AGREEEEED TOGETHER to it. That’s why there are lawsuits against banks and so on, it’s for a lack of intent and integrity to be CLEAR AT FIRST HAND. I’m watching from the U.S, this behavior from him is borderline harassment where a restraining order could be file against him. And obviously they returned the money, which they didn’t have “at the time” he helped them. Many people would just say no, and move on from him without any return because he made a VERBAL AGREEMENT when he said there’s no requirement of repayment (when the mother asked, that’s what he CLEARLY stated at FIRST// he didn’t give them the option of his true intent // I studied law by the way so I know what I’m saying) . If you “HEAR” well, this whole case from his end is unjustified…if this matter is taken into court, he would lose and probably get sued even more where I’m from…I’m not saying America is perfect, but this would not work in his favor. And they’d probably asked for the money to be returned back to him which they’re willing to…His frustration stretched further than just repayment, he expected a life to be bound to his which is priceless, and cannot prevail with pressure and insults. Through scriptures, even the intent of salvation is made CLEAR TO US, for us to “die” to our flesh…which gives us the opportunity to agree or disagree to the price of following Christ; how can two walk together unless they agree?…Before agreements there must be CLEAR COMMUNICATION to evaluate if the expectations are fit for “BOTH” parties.

It’s NOT the same thing, because they were already in a relationship, your brother invested in someone who “initially” agreed to be with him, so I see where the disappointment can come from, that’s a a hurtful situation (Sorry about his passing). But this guy here said he didn’t want anything in return, then proceeded to pursue her and reprimanded her based on the favor he willingly gave with no strings attached which shows he knew what he was doing, he was indirectly grooming her through his help with the assumption it would work for his favor, he was shocked when his proposal was refused…In normal situations, when someone refuses a proposal, you let them be because you cannot force a person’s heart to love you; his disappointment was his fault, not to mention he was disrespectful and disgusting. He didn’t politely allow her to breathe on her decision, he pushed it and insulted her. Some people even end up marrying people they had no initial interest in, but that’s done through patience, sincere kindness and space to conclude a clear decision; if you still get a no, move on…This guy got bitter because he felt he was entitled to her life for the “help” he gave her. He said “you MUST marry me,” no asking, but suggesting, marriage is not a suggestion, it’s a question that must be met with a yes OR no.

its not the matter of interests or loans, my prayer is to be able to repay everything i had borrowed, money is not my life, wow, when i still have my breath and God can make a way, this has just inspired me, and realised God's faithfulness, money is not worth my soul, money is what i had borrowed, and it is what anyone i owe will get, and if there is anything that my creditors will do to retain it, so let it be, Lord Jesus is my help!

For salvation, we just need to follow the way they did it in Acts? They repented and were baptized in water in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and received the gift of the Holy Ghost, Acts 2:38! Here's why! The gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. If we are to follow him, we must do the same thing. Death= repentance, Burial = baptism, and resurrection = being filled and rising again from the dead and walking in the newness of life. That's what Acts 2:38 is. It harmonizes with Matthew 28:19, and all the other salvation scriptures. We can't pick and choose which scriptures we like or dislike. We must obey the gospel, 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that OBEY NOT THE GOSPEL of our Lord Jesus Christ... Matthew 7:21-23, Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOTH THE WILL OF MY FATHER which is in Heaven. St John 3:3-5, EXCEPT for a man be born of WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT, he cannot enter the kingdom of GOD. We can't come up with our own gospel. Galatians 1:8-9, But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Don't be cursed. One way for all people. Jews, Gentiles, and Samaritans. Our salvation has to match up with the scriptures, and no scriptures on the subject can be taken away. Eternity is TOO long to be WRONG! St, John 5:39, search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. The gospels show what Christ has done on the cross for us. The book of Acts shows us the beginning of Christ's Church and how to enter the Church, obeying Acts 2:38. The letters were written to the Church to show us how to behave now that we are born again into the Church. It's better to walk alone than with a crowd going in the wrong direction. Are we supposed to follow the teachings of the apostles? Acts 2:42, And they continued steadfastly in the apostle's doctrines. Ephesians 2:20, We are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone. Don't get Titus 3:5 mixed up with James 2:14-26, about WORKS. One is a WORK of your OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS OR GOOD DEEDS, and the other is a WORK OF FAITH or OBEDIENCE TO GOD. If I buy you a cake and tell you to come get it, and you refuse to, then you won't have the cake even though it's been fully paid for. Christ set up the way, and we must come the way he set up to be saved or to receive it. Noah believed or had FAITH, BUT THEN WORKED TO BUILD THE ARK TO BE SAVED. LOT believe or had FAITH, BUT THEN OBEYED AND LEFT SODOM. This is why Jesus said, he that believes and is baptized shall be saved. They all harmonize together.
