@chloeminagawa9104 жыл бұрын
@@Thewitchescookery for cakes and cookies (nothing with yeast), I use a cup for cup flour replacement blend, sometimes with some almond flour as well. I used to blend my own mix for each recipe and that worked often very well but now I’m too lazy haha and it’s hard enough to find one flour in the pandemic let alone 5 different kinds

What does your child do while you bake? 😆 I was anti-screen time for kids until I had kids. I still try to limit it, but I do resort to tv when I’m trying to cook certain things. I already have anxiety cooking, so involving them in the every day, does not happen yet (they are age 2 and 4), but only for special projects that I’ve decided they can help with.
@Thewitchescookery2 жыл бұрын
My kid helps me cook and bake. he looooves it - it creates a huge mess but it makes me super happy that now at 3 years old he can make simple things like purred soups, pancakes and cakes completely by himself. Baby is usually in carrier while I cook. However, if the thought of having theme there while you cook is too overhwelming, I would just have them play in their room or maybe color or do some sensory activity in the kitchen (if you want to have an eye one them) ❤️

OMG, as I am starting this one I just got your next video alert and the photo for the thumbnail is .. stunning!... Okay, first this video :D:D:D: --- I have always wondered about the Yule Log, and can't wait to learn more! -- okay little mesmerized by the process and forgetting to comment, but then you mentioned one of my favorite movies! (JD aside, use to like him lol) Chocolat!! I have that one, now I want to rewatch it, lol. Totally get you on that fantasy! --- You came damn close with your sexy Spanish man! ;) --- Okay, I have a follow up question please :), I heard or read once upon a time, that a part of the Yule log was kept and used to ignite the next year's log? So much gets lost and added to by not so legit sources in the community, I'm not always sure what's what. If you know and can let me know that would be awesome, because truthfully, I always thought it was such a sweet notion! I totally didn't know about the ashes! That's cool! --- Ohhh THANK YOU for that tip! My biggest frustration is having the wax/parchment paper stay stuck to the cake! -- well, we've been told ;) heehee --- could you use a late harvest sweet white wine? --- totally giggled when I saw you waving your wand :D --- you bring out the happy in me 💕❤🙏❤💕 --- heehee, pretend to be healthy, yup, I fall into the no denial category :D --- LMAO on the doggy bed! I love it, you go little man and fur baby! --- OMG girl, you made that roll perfect! I know mine would be cracking as I try to roll it lol. --- love that hastag! - girl, I could have used that hastag when I was making the home made dough for the video I'm working on lol... my arm was so damn sore! --- Like any of us are turning this video off til the end, :P --- fine line between drinking and cleaning product, you have the wittiest sense of humour, I just love it! --- okay, silly question, but did they place the fruit and pour the wines directly on the wood as sort of offerings?? Or is it like I'm picturing, simmering in a pot over the fire?? --- Bex, you totally out did yourself with this one! I think it's up there with that pear yumminess cake you made it! Love the bloopers at the end xo. Okay on to the newest video! ahhh, you're tired, but you keep going for us, we love you for it! xo

Hehe I knew chocolate would most likeñly be on your favourite movie list - I havent watched that film in aaaages - I think I need to do so over the holidays. While eating chocolate - of course hehe too bad I cant have the Spanish man with it 😂 I read that too about the yul log being used to ignite next years - it does seem plausabile as a lot of the rural traditions that involve keep bits of wood or ashes for other celebrations or rituals. I guess there were many different customs around it different areas - sometimes I wish I could timetravel and see it all for myself :D and yes, you could definately do that with a sweet white wine too! And nooo, as long as you let the sponge cake cool down completely, it wont crack - promise! As for the fruit /wine offerings - what I read is that they placed them directly in the fire to burn it. This is also a tradition around Lammas or the early harvest festivals. Much looooooooove
