The moments you shared with you and the little one were so delightful! How precious. In all, what a savory delight your videos are-the beauty, direct camera convos that made me feel like an old friend in your house and recipe, just a delight all around! And yes, connecting with elderly/alone neighbors is so key right now. I’ve “broken the law” on that one too;)

I love watching your videos. I was born in Florida, USA and have been a solitary witch for 30 years. My ancestry is from Europe so I try to stay connected with the natural world. Here is mostly seashells, sand and the ocean, so I try to work with what we have even though I would rather be wandering the deep forests! Keep posting so I can be there in spirit!

I am letting go of ALWAYS needing to be in control and fix people’s problems. I do read Tarot and Oracle, I have a KZbin channel. I like to pull for myself once a week for any messages or advice from spirit. I journal them and like to look back and see how relevant they were! This year I too am diving deeper into my practice and my loves are nature,meditation, divination and I want to work more on my witchery and spell casting. I’ve already started the past week adding intention to my foods I make and they taste even better now! 😊

I always feel a little weird commenting when the video was posted a while ago; but I am trying to get over that anxiety so I have found myself commenting on each of my favorite channels. Well, yours is one of them. I enjoy your presence on the videos you post. You are calm, inviting warm, and delightfully silly. With that said... I haven't ever done a year ahead with my tarot, but now I'm thinking about doing one. ..along with all the seasonal fun. I can't wait to mull my wine, feed the critters, bake and cook the good foods, and tell stories to my kids about the winter season and look forward to Imbolg. I have also been reacquainting, rediscovering, and reevaluating myself and my relationships with all that is in my life from abstract concept things to the physical items. It sure has been quite the journey.

Okay sweet Bex, this is a long love letter, are ya ready 😉? Okay, rewatching for the third amazing time to comment as I go heehee….. I love the little agenda dance, but it was priceless when you showed it sans music heehee. And his little cameos with the tree xoxoxoxo, it brings me so much joy to see his sweet little face! Yeay!! I was really curious about the smoke cleansing recipes! We do smoke cleanses back home and I love to see if there are any over laps! Especially since mine is Caribbean and yours is Germany, it would be so cool! I always leave food for the winter kindred and one year I did make my own. It was a Winter Solstice abundance recipe for the spirits of land, especially the animals. I used mini bunt molds and coconut oil as a base since it hardens, lol…. Not monster fart tallow (giggles). I placed a thick orange slice in the base as a representation of the sun’s return and then the oil/feed mix. Maybe I will do it for one of my vids since it falls within my Winter’s Hope Abundance theme! How much do I love the Mary Poppins reference! You fit her energy XO! Ohhh were those Schisandra berries I saw?! Thank you for reminding viewers that resin serves a very important purpose with healing trees, as do certain mushrooms that serve the same purpose on trees! Due to pollution, I can’t wild harvest, but I do my best to research the local First Nations tribes that were originally in the areas I’ve lived and their traditions. Thought it is hard as not much is written by aboriginals. Heehee, the child is running away, he’s coming to visit Auntie Kayla!! Look at those red sweet cheeks heehee. And he has mama’s sparkling eyes! Ahhhh, (7:40) Ahhh Bex, your son, the joy and lightness in him is such a reflection of you and the love of a truly amazing mother. OMGoddess! Was that just a wild donkey? You have wild donkeys? That’s so cool! OOOHHHH GRANDMOTHER BLACKTHORN!!! PLEASE CHECK YOUR IG DMS!! Forest tears…. Sacred and as valued and treasured as gold. What branches did you choose to bring in to bloom?! Yes I read your IG posts heehee. PS love your nail polish colour! Eggnog, yesssss! I’ve never added it to coffee though, or had it warm! With spiced rum, hellz yes lol. I would lose my Caribbean girl status lol. Granted, never tried it with whip cream! I use a coconut milk based whip cream that would be A-MA-ZING with that! It’s a really important thing you did. Even if it’s distance visiting you can definitely do it. Our neighbors and I have done some random acts especially leaving baked goods in each other’s mailboxes 😊 I’m giggling that silent giggle where your whole body, especially if it’s like my body jiggles as I giggles lol - grate nutmeg, drop nutmeg, swear like a sailor, carry on LOL… we are so sisters xo. Ahhhh it’s like making hollandaise sauce lol, that fine line where you pray the egg doesn’t ‘cook’ and you end up with a scrambled sauce lol. Ahhh, so cool, the tarot reading! I assume I can use Oracles for this, definitely want to try it! I am planning a Winter Oracle Deck selection for shadow workings etc., video for one of my 21 days, including a walk through of a new deck. Might end with this spread to test it out! The third card nails what you provide for your community. I would love a video on your daily practice for each season! I am creating my own ‘oracle’ using keys! I guess it’s called throwing the bones or charms! Will keep you posted 😉 Ahhh hello bright eyes!! Your baby boy not you heehee, kidding, you as well xo. Sparking lights, okay I don’t know how to write my squeals and giggles of delight so just know I’m squealing and giggling in delight heehee. Was that a water way, or a wet street?? I have said it before and will say it again, I LOVE how quaint and picturesque your village is. Xo. Thank you for sharing all of this with us! You pack so much into your videos, I can only manage one topic at a time lol. Much love Bex to you and babies (fur and human xo) Auntie K :D

We'll absolutely be doing the bird cakes this year! My youngest (13) loves all birds. And, while we were at our local park today, I actually harvested some oak resin that I'd noticed was forming back in late August. So, it's absolutely not ready to use right now but it smells wonderfully amazing and I was so excited to get it! That particular oak has been working on a large line of it since August and I only took the most bottom lump. Still slightly squishy but smells amazing!!

Aww Rebecca, what a wonderful warm hearted and cozy vlog 🥰 I'm also weird like you and enjoy the thing with the frozen fingers 🤣 idk why, but it feels funny when they thaw again :'D Now I also want to buy a tarot deck for my Rauhnächte activities. How you did it with the different cards standing for different life aspects of the new year, fascinated me - I also wanna try that! I think it would be cool to write it down and look at the end of 2021 if it was true - or I mean you just have to watch your video then 😃 Also for the Rauhnächte, as each day stands for a certain month, I wanna do it like this for each month on the related day

I have been watching for some time; enjoying you and the fact you asked for some personal feedback or of such, yahhh I'm here from miles away and enjoying your energy whilst I care for my family as the health of the young life has been very challenging to come back for my kid brotherage 52.. I find myself loosing me a bit. So when I find sleep not coming, I do this watching of your KZbin within the quiet sanctuary from under my covers. Real life isn't what we see always in KZbin... but I rather enjoy the reality your channel shares... life goes on, chaotic or soft as new fallen snow... it's our interaction and dance we choose to make in our lives that brings us joy. Missing many of my family that have passed; while both young and old alike, I'm at a loss in my own tradition and wanting some old new ones to develop. Tytyty for just being your lovely self. Happy eggnog latte time of the year and soon I will try this yumminess you are sipping on, recipe isn't as complicated and in small batches as this one... I may have to share or find what our local store has it's called a "Tom and Jerry", as my brother I'm carrying for, his name is Jerry. So indeed it is time for hope in latte season. My late Son's birthday celebration on new years day has always brought another reason for hope of the new year and the sun's light back after our long hibernation in our typical Yule season. Happy happy to us one and all. Cheers 💛🦌🌲🤗 from my cozy corner to yours.

I absolutely LOVE your videos. Your mix of humor and seriousness is just right and sparks so much joy and comfort. I try to do a weekly tarot where I draw a single card from my deck (I'm suuuuper new at it so I just do major arcana) and a card from my botanical oracle deck and see how they interact. I don't really use it for... future predictions if that makes sense. For me it is an introspection thing. But I love the idea of doing a bigger spread for the new year to help me set my intentions for the coming months. Also, I am definitely going to go visit some neighborhood pine trees to see if they have any sap or resin to offer. Cheers!

Thanks so much for your wonderful words 💚 and yaih! I am happy it brings you comfort and joy! Hey lady! Good morning from Toronto. Sitting here with my coffee. The sun is rising and it is beautiful outside of my window. I live in a condo right along the shores of Lake Ontario and the view sometimes takes my breath away. Your video this morning was like a warm Holiday card. You and your little one are joy to watch! By the way, what are you trying to do to me with all of these indulgent recipes!!!?? The eggnog, the mulled wine, the COOKIES! This girl’s trying to shed the “Covid 15” that she gained!!! Just kidding - keep them coming. It makes me feel better to pretend like I don’t want them. Ok, now I’ll do what you asked, goals for this year are: 1) to be more creative. I have always been a creative person, but with adulthood it’s been lost somewhat. I’m in a job that I don’t really love (but I know how fortunate I am to have a job at this time, so I feel guilty for feeling the way I that do). 2) to spend more time with and connect more deeply with nature. 3) continue dedicating time to my mindfulness and meditation practice. It has made such a difference in my life. 4) to figure out what h@#$ I want from life (I know, really deep. Haha) As far as spreads go, I haven’t done a New Years spread. I bought my first pack of tarot cards last January. So this year would be my first. My feelings have been changing about the cards lately. I definitely don’t view them as a way to tell my future. I use it more as a psychological tool to see where my feelings are at. You know what I mean? I’m even struggling with that right now, so I have put them aside for a bit. I think I’m going through a bit of a change right now and don’t know what I want. Perhaps that might be part of my problem with the cards. Ok. I’ve written a novel. Are you happy? Lol. Hope you have a good Sunday! 😊⛄️xo
@Thewitchescookery4 жыл бұрын
Uuuh that mental picture you just painted there for me was absolutely flawless! I can imagine how wonderful it looks to wake up to that view and enjoy the first cup of coffee 😍 Hehe and sorry about the recipes! Imagine you additionally had to eat all of that stuff 😅 I will be the size of a Volvo after the holidays, I am afraid... Thank you for sharing your goals ❤️ I totally feel you on the job! I felt exactly the same in mine and missed the creative spirit that I always had as a kid. So my job this year and starting a whole other journey that allows me to deep dive into my creativity was wonderful (well, at times also hard ofc). I wish you from the bottom of my heart, that you can find that for you too and can be as happy and creative as you deserve to be 🌼 let's see what kinds of changes and inspirations 2021 brings for you. I love you point number 4 hehe aren't we all? And yes, I use the cards the same way and sometimes it is just not the right tool. I do hope you can figure out your bright path and get through these times of change - those can be though! And yeeees, I am very happy with your novel 💕 thank you for taking the time 😘

I look forward to your videos/Instagram posts every day and I’m going to be sad when Yule is over haha. I did a 6 month tarot spread for Samhain similar to yours with a middle card representing the overall theme and 6 cards around representing each month. My overall theme was the star which represents hope after a disaster. Very 2020 appropriate! I definitely struggled a lot with loosing hope for certain things this year and that’s something I’m working on. As an atheist/skeptic witch, I like your spread better because it’s more reflective and less predictive than assuming drawing a card will tell me what will happen in a certain month. I’ll try it out for Yule! Also eggnog with spiced rum the best.
@Thewitchescookery4 жыл бұрын
Haha I am glad! I will be both sad and relieved probably 😅 but I will definitely be posting some videos during the yuletide too! I love that you pulled the star for your spread - how very fitting! And I do hope it gives you some hope for next year 💕 I love tarot but always tray to keep the spreads as open to interpretation as possible 😀

It was so lovely! I laughed out loud because of your nutmeg, my cats were looking at me weirdly... I usually do my spread for the coming year on Samhain, although I also did not do that this year. Yule usually gets little attention from me, I work retail so it's our busiest time. I don't really have a connection or love for Christmas, so December is a bit of the month to just get through. I'm hoping to change that this year, actually and focus more on Yule instead of the other holidays. (we have lights! For the first time!) Part of my Yule ritual this year will therefore also be to let go of other people's opinions and feelings about this time of year, and open myself up to exploring my own! Your warm videos certainly help with that. Fijne Joel!
@Thewitchescookery4 жыл бұрын
Hahaha your cats are just like my son - always wondering about sudden outbursts of emotions :D I usually do someting bigger for Samhain too, as I consider it the start of the new year but this year, with 2020 being so sucky - I decided I wanted some guidance for the calendary change too. Uhhh and yes, working in retail this time of the year is tough - I hope you are not too stressed out, especially with the regulations and everything! Good luck 💪 And yaih for focusing on Yule - I find it wonderful, as it is free of consumerism and not tinted by expectations of what it should be like. so totally get your point here 💖 Jij ook fijne Joel!

@@Thewitchescookery Indeed the expectations of the regular holidays are so stifling and invasive. I'm hoping to step away from that and make my own traditions, like you have! At the moment I am recovering from covid (7 months and counting), so there is a lot of stress, but not from working since I am currently unable. Which is indeed also why this year has been extra sucky, and I want to take the Yuletime to focus on being kind to myself, wamth, "geborgenheid" and connection. It's been a tough year for all of us, so I hope you take the time to be kind to yourself as well! (Although from the vlogs I can see you do :))

@@marjolijnashara1726 ah now I saw this! I was wondering where that second comment was 😃 I can't even imagine how incredibly stressful that must be to be unwell and out of work! And yeeeees take good care of yourself and make it cozy and comfy - I am sure that is much needed after this year 💕

I am so enjoying these! Your videos bring about such cozy warm vibes. I'll be way behind but I definitely want to join in on this theme. Having a topic to focus on is so helpful, especially right now since I've been so unsettled since moving. Can't wait to give that Tarot layout too :)

Oh yaih! Please do 😊👏👏👏👏 I am so sorry to hear that the move has made you feel unsettled - I do hope you find some tranquility again!

Thank you, Bex, for an awesome inspiration. My husband has brought fresh full fat milk this afternoon and now I know what to do wit it ;) And the offering for birds sounds like a good plan for my Imbolc activities. "Though her words are simple and few "Listen, listen", she's calling to you "Feed the birds, tuppence a bag" I loved Mary Poppins as a child although I couldn't understand all the layers of the story (e.g. hypocracy of the suffragett mother) that time.

Ohhhh another Marr Poppins lover 😍 but yeah, it was definately written in a doifferent time and there are some things in there thatdoent really fly anymore with a modern mindset! (Now I suddenly have the urge to watch the movie! Btw, did you see part 2?). And yes, for sure a nice Imbolc activity! I still have to plan what I will do for Imbolc...

@@Alushenka it is new - I think it came out 2 years ago. It even has the original actors in it (in different roles) but of course it is not like the original. Still cute though!

So.. I just got a tarot deck about 2 weeks ago. I haven't used them but I have studied them a bit and have been sleeping with them under my pillow. I would love to do a little spread like you did to give insight of the new year. I know NOTHING about how to do this and the videos I find aren't my style. Like they're dark and almost media witchy.. where would you recommend learning?
@Thewitchescookery3 жыл бұрын
Oh I am really not a pro in tarot at all! I only started using tarot cards last year and do really simple spreads or one card pulls. I read them intuitively or use biddytarot (the website) to interpret what I see. So I am not much help with good sources to learn, I am afraid. Personally I do like Scarlet Ravenswood (on KZbin) for some info and she is a professional tarot reader - maybe you can find some info there ☺️

So.. I've never heard of Tallow. I'm looking on Amazon and it's saying Beef Tallow. Is this correct? I want.to make bird cookies!
@Thewitchescookery3 жыл бұрын
Yes that is correct! I usually get it at the butcher's. But make sure not to heat it too much because then it smells horrible! You can also use suet to make the bird cookies ☺️

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeease make PFEFFERNUSSE! My family and I recently found a package of these cookies at the drug store and are OBSESSED! The recipes I've found online vary WIDELY. I only trust you when it comes to traditional German desserts! Please give us the pfeffernusse!!!!
@Thewitchescookery4 жыл бұрын
Hehe I feel honoured. Pfeffernüsse are a common thing in Northern Germany and the Netherlands - here in the south we don't really make them. But when I studied in Holland I became obsessed with them as they had a Popup store next to my house in winter that sold more than 100 flavours. I will talk to my Dutch friends and get the perfect recipe for you ☺️ I will most likely put it in one of my next vlogs 🤤 thanks for the idea!

How do you use the resin?

You can burn in on coal or over a sief for spiritual purposes or to make your home smell nice
I have Covid or something… 👀 Ok, truth is, I just think it’s Covid because everyone else in my community has it and now I’m sick too so… I am choosing not to get tested because… to me it only makes sense. Anywho, when I saw “tuppence a bag” and then the emphasis, I had to pause the video because I didn’t quite get it at first. 😅 My brain did not want to work. 😂😂😂

Good for you, going to see your neighbor! I'm sure that meant the world to her. Idk about there but here in the states (certain states anyway) are still dealing with lockdowns and yet the whole country is still allowed to order from Amazon and all over the world. I know they're not treating our mail 🙄 so essentially you're just robbing yourself of fresh air and human contact.
