@@hanalexcranealister6799 I would say "crying into his mother's breasts" is actually a more accurate statement. It's literally a child weeping, his heart broken and taking comfort onto the very thing, his earliest memory provides, of a safe space. Go past the silly incestuous ideas and sexual thoughts and look at it from a mother-child dynamic - what does a mother do to help a crying newborn? Breastfeed it. Your earliest memory of safety and comfort. Perfectly ideal then that laying on his mother's breasts, after he exposed himself to love and then got broken, is exactly what he needed, as she held him tights in her arms and let him know he can be safe in her arms. Morty might fly across the Universe, battle aliens and destroy worlds. He will always be in Beth's eyes, her baby boy.

To think how Morty himself always put himself last making his family come first. As we see he is finally seeing from the first and this latest episode he wants to be a normal kid. His love for planetina has shown so many character development of how he is growing. And throughout this episode he has yet to say anything inappropriate about planetina (which I thought there would be because of how morty is) but I was wrong, so wrong. He really did love her and she loved him for who he was. That argument he said to his parents when they sent her away “Nobody in this family thinks i can say or do anything right”. Showed he is realizing he hasn’t been doing what he wants, and I mean what he truely wants, not like wanting an adventure or some sex doll from an alien drug store. He really wanted to finally find love and he did. But as we always see when it comes to him. Every time he is at his high, something stikes him back down. Which is just completely heartbreaking.

People are literally forgetting in season 2 when Rick tried to commit suicide because he realized how his toxicity resulting from trauma is ruining those around him. Said he'd be in the garage if anyone needed him, comforted a crying creature before putting it out of it's misery, like he wanted someone to comfort him and no one came. He passed out before the device fried his brain. He laid there for over a day and no one checked on him. That is by far the most relatable and heartbreaking episode of the show. There is nothing heroic about murdering innocent mine workers just trying to scrape a living voting for people who will allow them to continue to provide for their families the only way they know how. The miners are the victims, of circumstance, they would likely be working another job if they could, nobody wants to work in a mine. Then she comes along with her moral superiority and decides to murder the victims of the system. I understand she’s the embodiment of earth, but earth is neutral, it does not pass judgment, earth just is. She is a character with agency and she uses her agency to murder the victims of circumstance rather than save them from themselves.

The weirdest part is that Planetina's actions are technically the most logical course of action. Whenever any species lasts too long without something to keep it in check, that species ends up destroying it's habitat and every other creature in that habitat. Humans have grown way too much without anything keeping us in check so if anything were to take upon the task of restoring balance, that being would eventually realize that cutting humanity down to size was the only way to do it. Morty can't agree with this because he values human life as more than individuals of the same species while Planetina can't do that because she isn't human and her whole meaning for existing is to restore Earth's Balance.

I have to agree. It's a sad fact of biology and psycology. If you can do something without consequences you'll go as far as you can until you do. So without some kind of greater check or balance things go until they can't. Humanity is no exception. If anything we're the purest example of that principal. I wouldn't decry Planetina's Actions, but can't fully endorse them either. She's right, but and I HATE to say this. She's right in the wrong way. Didn't expect this episode to hit so hard. This really does capture that infatuation phase of relationships and how they can crumble just as fast as they begin absolutely spot on.

Really well made episode. I think it's interesting how a common Morty trope is that he is a hopeless virgin who fails to find love because he is a psychopath. Like how he killed hundreds of people to follow the death Crystal or got Jessica stuck in a time Crystal for a thousand years. However in this episode he does find a girlfriend who genuinely loves him so he does the pyscho Morty and kills the "Kids". However she ends up being a pyscho eco terrorist who is now able able to kill freely due to no one controlling her. He chooses to dump her and breaks her heart. I think the thing that makes him sad the most is that there is not much separating them. They are both misguided children with good intentions who end up doing horrible things in the name of love.

morty was being petty lmao he's killed so many people and destroyed entire planets but is mad about her killing people who destroy earth? hypocritical. he killed her only family and then gets mad when she's trying to help earth in her ignorant way.

To me... if you look back at things. With all that's happened to morty in just the last 2 seasons... how he's been sucker punched by his loved ones, gut punched by life, and romantic avenues destroyed before his eyes.... I mean Jessica now has some form of Enlightenment having seen across millennia; and every atempt he's made to get in with her has Failed. All of them because of outside interuptions, his own idiocy or obsession, or Ricks meddling or intervention. And after the Robot Bird Narnia she's basically lost to him forever. He had a budding physical relationship with Annie the girl from Anatomy Park, but was ripped away and largely wasted because of Ricks moronic obsession with a theme park. As well as his unwavering resolve to keep a fairly stupid concept. The girl from his "Healthy" stint. Jacqueline, she truly loved him as he was and he can't go back to that without surrendering his morality, and become an Amoral person like Rick again. Same with that girl he met at the Bar Stacy whose probably psychotic after an extended stint in the Toxicity cannister. Arthricia basically used him to fix her ultimately doomed civilization from it's own stupidity. She fell in more with Rick if anything (not romantically just found more useful) and resorted to the weakest excuse to escape romantic or personal interest in the history of the world. Largely to try and escape some kind of percieved obligation... how like Rick she was in that episode... creates a stange train of thought if I think about it. Planetina and Morty loved each other deeply. The only problems being she can't reconcile humanities explotation of the planet of which she's connected to and her love for him. Conversly he can't overlook her growing actions of violence and radicalization. His overwhelming feelings of empathy and forgivness of others can't handle that much devastation. Then theres the hardest gut punch for me. The girl he connected with while he had the Reset button. Going through so much with someone who meant so much to him.... all to have it ripped away from him because of Jerry's ignorant curiosity and Ricks obsessive and controlling nature. And when he tries to get back what he lost is then locked out of it forever. And that's just what he's been facing from a romantic and connective perspective. I can't even imagine what he's going through from a Respect, Self Worth, Existential, Moral, or Survivalist perspective. It's no wonder the Crows event and the Portal Boys. He comes back begging Rick to return. He has nothing left but Rick. His family doesn't respect him or honestly care until he reminds them of how mature, and capable he actually is compared to their naivete and almost willful ignorance. The World doesn't really give a shit about him or probably is still afraid of him. And the universe is still to daunting an avenue for him since he's still young.

You shouldn’t use the word psychopath so blatantly. Neither of the two have psychopathic traits.

My last relationship ended with an excruciating effort to be free from what have had become a cage. I was with a person I cared so much about and that I genuinely loved, but that I realized over time wasn’t for me and we were spiraling into a toxic, never-ending, codependency. I resonate so much with the part in which Planetina enrages and Morty can barely watch and drop tears: I have been there, watching the girl I loved so much going through outburst of anger, breaking things and slapping me or hurting herself, and the like. I was just left there wondering what I could have done, if there was for me a way to save this person I cared so much for, and in the end it was: setting myself and her free. Love can be the most beautiful of blisses, but can also turn into an everyday struggle that drains you.

This episode captured the feeling of intense fleeting love in 20-30 minutes. From the intense giddy feelings of love where you can't even finish a sentence because your absorbed in each other's physical presence. To experiencing life moments and the thought of building a future and life together. To the moment when you realize despite the love, the emotions, the connection being as strong as that first kiss, you know your not compatible for each other and no amount of feeling can change that fact.
