As most of you already know my local Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, Dollar General or Walmart stores are my own personal adult playgrounds. I shop at these stores to find food that is generally highly processed, full of fillers and simply bad for us to eat regularly! Meat, vegetables, canned food, frozen food, refrigerated food, boxed food, vegan food, vegetarian food and all sorts of prepared foods, if it's cheap and questionable I will do a taste test and food review on it! I also show you these foods are no bargain like these discount stores and manufacturers lead you to believe. I do this to show you that fresh foods are not only healthier, but they're also cheaper than these so called bargain foods. So far I haven't gotten sick, but some of these foods are certainly questionable and have come close to making me sick.

I concur! This brand is delicious. Everything I have ever had from them is restaurant quality. They carry these in two packs of large trays at Sam's Club. These are great to have on hand for a quick weeknight meal that is satisfying. Their prices are reasonable and their ingredients minimal. I think they deserve the perfect 10 you gave them!

Olive Garden is dead to me since they discontinued their mixed grill and steak with potatoes. My husband and I went there for my birthday 2 years ago, after not eating there for several years, and I was so pissed off my favorite entrees were no longer on the menu we left. Purple Glitter Studios sorry you don’t like good food. TRH is well known for being pretty good and affordable, as long as the kids in the back actually pay attention to your steak you end up getting a pretty good one. If you think they won’t do it right because it’s crowded, just order your steak one level of doneness under what you actually want. That and all their other food is pretty good too, especially the herb crusted chicken.

My girlfriend was diagnosed as a diabetic about 6 months ago but has managed to really turn things around for herself. Sadly, that has meant that things like almost all Italian food is now off of the menu (which she absolutely loves). It actually looks like she could sneak the Eggplant Parm in as a dinner here and there and not hit her blood sugar too badly with only the 30G of carbs. I'm sure she'll be super excited to try one of these in the likely immediate future. Thanks for the review and the nutritional facts on this one, Larry. When she was initially diagnosed I even looked at some of the "lean" type options in the store and they were all way over budget for her. I guess I should have just moved down the aisle to the full flavor stuff.

Gotta agree with Larry here, These are hands down the best frozen meals I've ever had. Well worth the price and that comes from someone who's pretty poor. If You're thinking about making some yourself, these are just as good or better than homemade and honestly the cost isn't that much different if you're making it from scratch at home. Definitely a must try for any lover of Italian cuisine! As usual thanks for the great videos Larry! Got me hungry for some now :D

Piggy backing top comment but wanted to mention that the companies factory is in Austin, TX. It's been there for about 30 years. They make the absolute best Italian frozen food. Wolfe Pit reviewed the 2 most popular products but they are all delicious.

I would give the Eggplant Parmesan 8 out of 10 only because of the breading on the eggplant is way too much and makes it a teeny bit mushy. If they cut way back on the breading of the eggplant inside or get rid of it completely I would say 9.5 out of 10 or a full 10 out of 10. I have yet to try their lasagna.

Not quite. The best ever was a brand called Vitto's (named for the two brothers who founded it, named Vito and Tony), out of Sudbury, Ontario, Canada (Northern Ontario's largest city, but we're talking about a population of about 75,000 at the time). The problem with it was that the food became so popular so fast throughout eastern Canada, especially in Toronto (population of just over 2 million at the time), that the company simply couldn't keep up with demand, had to fold, and restructured to go back to just their original two products ( fresh Italian sausage, sweet and hot) and sell only locally. The stuff was absolutely phenomenal while it lasted. An awful lot of Nonas gave up doing their filled pastas (ravioli, tortellini) and so forth for the brief few months they could get the stuff, but as quickly as it came, it went away. Damned shame.

Thank you for trying the Michael Angelos like I and other suggested you do. WE THE PEOPLE can be right about some things, some time. I noticed that you didn't use the microwave for these meals. However, if you had you would have noticed that they are just as good after coming out of the microwave. This is something that can't be said for most microwave meals. Building on this great momentum I'd like to say that ALL of the dinners from Michael Angelos are some on the best frozen food I've ever had. So I who LOVE IT if you would try one more of their dinners that AMAZED me when I tried it. Michael Angelos makes a fantastic frozen Shrimp Scampi. YES, I said Shrimp Scampi. I usually don't like when shrimp is in frozen meals because it usually ends up turning out tough and rubbery after cooking, but NOT THIS ONE. The shrimp is tender and flavorful and well worth trying. I'd also like to suggest their Chicken Parmesan. I've seen you try Chicken Parmesan by other companies, but like the other two meals you've tried I'm sure these two won't disappoint you. So I hope you will give this other Michael Angelos meals a try, FOR US, THE PEOPLE, but after you taste it, it will be more for you. Yummy! YES, The Frozen Dinner Queen HAS tried the Chicken Piccata from Michael Angelo's over plain white rice. D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! I love artichokes, and there were a good amount, the sauce nice and tangy... Everything I have ever tried from Michael Angelo's has been restaurant Quality, along with all the Bertolli's both frozen microwave and skillet dinners that I have tried.

Ok I'm going to start with.. I'm a rebel..and will be to the day/night I die.. I love the Michael angelos meals.. Try the shrimp scampi.. Buttttt I baked mine in the toaster oven on a baking tray.. It was no biggie lol.. But try the shrimp scampi.. Awesome

I'll bet you ANYTHING that the toaster oven warning is because some IDIOT will (or has and sued) stick the meal into the oven with it on toast instead of bake, and then leave the house for thirty minutes.

If you an believe it these were even better ten years ago, they had more meat in them back then. I agree they should have a little more cheese, so I just add a little cheese after cooking and broil it. :)
