Her guitarist ended up being her husband and still is. He played with Rick Derringer in 76 or 77. He also played guitar on Rick Springfields "Jessie's Girl". Pat is a crazy talented vocalist who wanted to be in a rock band...think she nailed it.

She's a classically trained singer and thought it would be an easy transition to rock and found out that it was a lot tougher then she thought. But to her credit she hung in and eventually became very successful!

Pat was and is one of the hottest women in rock! She gets a hell of a lot of credit from me that, when her career seemed to be at its highest point, she walked away to raise her kids. She told a story about her return to the stage. She was at home with her young teens as they were watching VH1 (back when they actually played music) and they called out to her saying "Hey, Mom! This woman looks just like you!" She told them that the woman they were watching was in fact their mother. They laughed at her saying "No, that's Pat Benatar". That's when she realized that her own kids had no idea who she was. She immediately got on the phone to her manager friend and said something like "Get me some concerts". Thank God she came back!

You should check out the live of this song from the 2001 tour video. You'll get to see Neil Giraldo having a blast on the guitar. Still married and still touring to this day. I can't think of any other opera singer who managed to transition to hard rock. Would make her old teachers cry I think.

Guy, a must discover…Martina McBride - Independence Day. And and Nancy Wilson blew the 70’s up. Pat blew the 80’s up. During this time, a little Country girl listened to their music and practiced everyday to get her vocal range to match Ann and Pat. Got to hear her! Martina is the powerhouse vocalist of Country music.
