After Gene & Paul took over that was it for me..... ( when Ace & Peter left [ got fired,quit... whatever ] so did 70% of the talent ) Thank you for the video... Some of my favorite KISS Alive songs Cold Gin Come On And Love Me Nothin' To Lose Strutter Saw them in the mid 70's ..... the amount of sound blasting off that stage was simply amazing & their stage show was the best in the business back then ! I was 4 in 1974, it was either 1975 or 1976 (whenever they first started the merchandising) that I begged for a Gene Simmons doll to go out with my Barbie doll because Ken wasn't nearly cool enough. Talk about freaking my parents out - but the only other kids on my street were 7- and 9-year-old boys, so of course I "met" KISS early on. Fun memories!

Back in the '70s "stadium rock" era, most everyone in the crowd was enjoying their favorite mind altering substance. You could smoke in the venues and even, when we saw them, bring in your own wine pouch to drink from. During "Black Diamond" all the lights went down at the end.....and then those giant strobes flashed into your skull over and over. It was an experience that the kids of today will never enjoy!

These on stage gigs are the most wildest thing to see and live. Peter Criss was a soulman and honest drummer, fit for all that massive sound of a line up of Marshalls amps, Gibson guitars at their top. The cat man is responsible to put the Pearl Drum company at the rock world wide arena, for ever, and still she is there. When vynil records were the trend, Alive!, their very first live recording, won it self, 3 platinum status in the industry within a whole year, 1975-1976. A world wide unique fans following this guys in 5 continents, called "The Kiss Army".

KISS was massive in the 70's and 80's! Kiss were incredibly influential! They were perhaps the first true Glam Metal band. Their sound and more importantly their live image is something that was originally thought of as a gimmick but soon became a huge trend with the LA bands in the 1980s, most notably Motley Crue and Poison. People don't like to call Kiss Metal but they were. They were a Metal band that weren't afraid to say "Ooh".

Here's a little bit of info on them. Paul Stanley the Rhythm guitarist the one with the star when they first formed he was a taxi driver so they could afford to pay the rent for their rehearsal loft and get food to eat. And Gene Simmons used to be a school teacher in Spanish Harlem in New York. And he speaks multiple languages. Peter Criss the drummer actually took lessons from the Jazz, swing, big band great Gene Krupa. And Ace Frehley the lead guitarist is self-taught even to this day he still does not know all the technical terms that some players know, he just knows how to get the sound he wants, and how to get it.
