Leopard 2PL Full Squadron Vehicle Review - Is It Worth Buying Or Grinding? [War Thunder]

Let's all face it - the Leopard 2PL gets a bad rap from all the noobs playing it. Don't believe the poor performance from noobs, though, as the PL is an excellent squadron vehicle. Is it worth grinding for (or even purchasing) over top of the other high BR squadron vehicles, like the M1A1 AIM and T-80UK? I go over all of that and more in my full Leopard 2PL review.

It's a very good tank, I just wish poland would've moved the gunner sight to the top of the turret like the leo 2a5/2a6

Poland didn't make the armor package, it's revolution pack from Rheinmetall and only half of it. The only thing they upgraded them self's was the optics afaik. So it's not something Poland had any control over and if you want to see the full package look at the Leo 2RI or the Leo 2SG

It's not that easy. It would require a redesign big enough so that it would be essentially a new turret.

@@olekzajac5948 no there are several examples of 2A4s being upgrade to the 2A5 Standard. You can see it when the wedge armor is removed. there are two big welds where the sight used to be.

I've had it for awhile, since it came out really. However I like the M1 AIM more because in my experience the turret bounces shells more and you have more shells in the turret at the ready. I just love that.

I have the M1 Aim and i can say after playing it for many hours, ive only bounced turret shots maybe 20-30 times at most, with russian and german mains experiences, they tend to aim for the breech and gun like its muscle memory

Also at least the DM33 is a rank 1 upgrade, unlike on the M1A1 AIM, where by the time u get to the APFSDS (without GE) u regret that u ever touched the US ground tree. But even after that the tank - like many hyped up top US stuff - is quite disappointing (for me at least), and that is one of the best version of the Abrams!

All of the Abrams are gonna feel like that until they get their depleted uranium inserts but I doubt gaijins gonna add them cause then most tanks would have a very hard time penning the Abrams

Pro German Player Bought the Leopard 2A6 before the 2PL but have them in the same lineup. Its just horrible having brainless teamates and having to carry the whole team, The first thing I love about this tank is the thermal sights, Speed, armor and Gun. If you cant at least score 1-2 kills in this thing you should go back to 5.7! I love Rheinmetall's products!

You mean have a 1.5 kdr? Sometimes you get killed 2 seconds out of spawn, even the best pro German players can't counter that.

The leopard 2pl should have extra armour add ons, or just the same hull as the STRV Swedish variants because the leopard 2pl was a newer design than the 2a7

I would grind it out but it takes centuries to get to 8.9 before wt extend the tree and make it even harder to get to top tier, with that being said it fits my tiger 2 play style anyway.

I've stopped earning squadron points 2 big updates ago even tho I'm in an active squadron, made a bug report a week ago and gaijin still hasn't addressed it. Apparently I'm not the only one with this problem either. Like come on gaijin.

There is a problem with the rating scale. If for example, you gave X tank a 5, would it be Subpar, Average, or Decent /Good?

@@copybookspoon6744 Yep but the good thing about the Leo 2pl was that if somehow you got a downtier match you could play well, without facing T-80BVM and the 11.0(now 11.3) Abrams. And now all the matches are at 11.3 or 11.7. Ive played like 20 or more matches and none of them where at 11.0
