I slow down the playback speed to half so I can follow along in real time exactly as she’s doing it. It really helps. She sounds drunk, but it makes me giggle. 😆

Oh my God, it turns out all the problems. I’ve been having, doing the double stitch, crochet, and having to pick up the loop, because it could never go through with the hook, no matter how much I tried, it turns out I was missing one of the steps and I think I probably did a weird ass stitch that was definitely not this. Finally I just gave in and decided to play this video at quarter speed and I found out what exactly I did wrong. Thank you so much.

As a brand new crocheter, your videos have been THE MOST helpful out of all of them. The thick blue yarn on the yellow background, explanation of # of yarns and what direction to go... thank you so much. I almost cried so many times trying to crochet lol but you saved my work! Turns out I was yarning UNDER instead of OVER and couldn't figure out why my loops were so tight!

I prefer to chain only using one side, it one less YO & PT per chain. It can be done with Single, Double, & Triple crochet. Some will argue that it less secure, that it will stretch later on, but I find that it’s tighter that way.

Hi I hope you still read these comments, how can I tell when. Reading a pattern is a UK or USA double crochet please. Thank you in advance xx
@chlo.rin.e8 ай бұрын
Okay, I get the general idea and I can do the stitch but what confuses me is the placement of the stitch. So to start off I chained 15 and then began the video to learn the double crochet stitch. I expected to need 15 DC to match up with the rest of the chain but only did about 10 DC before I ran out of chain stitches. Does this just mean that I did it in the wrong opening? or is it normal to need less double crochets than single or chain stitches?
@elm8796 ай бұрын
you need 3 more chain stitches than the amount of dc so with 15 chain stitches you have 12 dc

Why do some people stick the hook under both loops, vs. just the back loop? It is tighter/shorter vs. looser/longer.

But how do you get the big blue bit in the first place?

So how many V’s do you get from a double crochet?
@gillianstendel9204 Жыл бұрын
Just 1. It increases height of the stitch but not number of V's, so its stille the same amount of stitches after, if that is your question
