How to Pre-Sley Your Rigid Heddle Loom With Our Ergonomic Sley Stand

Amy demonstrates how to pre-sley your rigid heddle loom using our Ergonomic Sley Stand. This is a technique and tool that will only be useful to you if you use a warping board or warping mill. You will not be able to use this Ergonomic Sley Stand when direct warping your rigid heddle loom.
As Amy explains in the video, it can be helpful to use a warping board or warping mill with your rigid heddle loom if you are making an extra long warp. Amy has chosen to pre-sley because she is using slippery 100% Tencel yarn. The Ergonomic Sley Stand also allows you to thread at a more comfortable angle so you don't have to be hunched over a table.

I find direct warping to be so much easier. Been working on RH for about 6 years. I'm wanting to upgrade to a 4 shaft loom (probably a Schacht) and it seems I will have to use a warping board? Not looking forward to learning how to do this, just seems like so many added steps.

I don't understand why you didn't sley the holes as well as the slots on the ergonomic sley tool. I am actually in the middle of sleying my rhl from a warp I measured on a warping board, but I'm doing each hole and slot in order.

I thought this video was very helpful and informative. However, the sticks are called "lease" sticks, not "leash" sticks. As a new weaver, I think correct terminology is important. I will be trying this method to warp my rigid heddle loom. Thanks.

Hi there! We know they are "lease" sticks, Amy's accent makes it sound like she is saying "leash" with an "h" but she knows the correct term!
