Hi Stuart, always a pleasure to watch your channel... fun and colourful to the end 🌈. I love your Sal... and very happy to be named after such a great pattern 😉. How gorgeous is that scarf too 💞... I love the chevrons and those colours 👌... perfect for autumn. It makes me wish I had time to knit and crochet..but I sew clothes mostly and never seem to have enough time for that 😊. I adore your scandi fabrics too... especially the trees 🌲🌲🌲. Thanks again for a great episode Stuart 👌💖😘

Hey Sally, aww thanks for you kind words! Love your messages and love the emjois - a pleasure to read! hahah yes, you must be feeling chuffed with having a pattern named after you haha. DO you sew in the evenings? A lot of people seem to knit in the evenings now the clocks have gone back, whilst watching tv. Or are you in a sewing room doing your dressmaking? I'm getting the dressmaking bug for sure - but currently sat in front of the fire with a sherry and the laptop....and my knitting hahah

@@TheWoolpatch oh hi Stuart, I sew mostly in the afternoons when I get chance, on my dinning table or in my spare bedroom. I find that I like natural light these days 😉. I think I could perhaps manage knitting or crocheting in the evenings if I ever get around to it. Funnily enough, I've just watched a video from the Stitch Sisters on you tube on how to crochet and I'm quite keen to try it 👍😁. It might keep the brain ticking in the evenings 😋. Take care Stuart and looking forward to your next video 🙏😘

Tweed Haze is very tempting -I'm very fond of Kidsilk Haze for doll stuff, so for making full sized things, Tweed Haze sounds ideal. I love the lok of the zickzck scarf, that pattern would look gorgeous as a long loose cardi. I was 1 year out on the guess the date - I guessed my birth yer of 1967
@TheWoolpatch
@TheWoolpatch 2 жыл бұрын
Good Idea about the Tweed Haze yes - I think you're right. As for the zick zack as a cardi - oooo! It's such a simple pattern too getting the chevron so you could easily adapt it into a pattern. As Ken Bruce would say.....oooooo 1 year out! Well done.

@FizzBradley
@FizzBradley 2 жыл бұрын
@@TheWoolpatch The fade, I used the same fabric suggestions for the move over quilt, and then had to find a bunch of solids. One of the fabrics, (the white leaf design,) was going to be the backing for my rainbow but I went with a teal instead. Although, I didn't have a lot of stash, some came from it. I've gone a little crazy on fabric lately.

Fab episode! I stumbled across your vlog during the sewing bee series. I’m a dressmaking sewer (sewist?!) but you’ve inspired me to learn to knit :-) It’s v early days for me but OMG that zick Zack scarf is amazing. Do you and your team ever sell your completed knits? I’d love to have a scarf like that without having to wait the years it would take me to get my skill level to that standard!!!
@TheWoolpatch
@TheWoolpatch 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Natasha! What a lovely comment to come to! Thrilled you've found the vlog after the bee and that you're now going to learn to knit! Wonderful!! Yes, the zick zack scarf is beautiful and a good knit to do for a beginner. As you say, early days. No rush with learning - just keep doing it! I do indeed sell our completed kits. Some kits/finished projects have a shelf life, take for example the Tweed Haze Scarf (the copper orangy one). I think I will only stock this yarn for the winter. I can't see me stocking it next spring and next winter. I'm too small, and my locals want to see different things regularly too. That means the scarf will go at the end of the season. So I always say to customers, ask. If you don't ask you don't get. So if you ever see anything, just ask, and I'll say if it has a 'shelf life' or not. We also do commissions, Irene would knit that scarf for you. It would just be the kit (£30) and £20 for her to knit it. So two options for you. You may be interested in my SEW WHAT videos with master tailor, couturier Carol too. I'm only a very beginner dressmaker. Lovely having you in our little community :). Stuart

Got more kits coming in as they all sold out which is brilliant. Sadly my wool is still at the mill:( Won't be a 2021 collection now I don't think. But, good news is I'll have a 2022 collection early haha. I may even take that collection to the new yarn festival that is being held in Norwich in March! So it's all worked out well really. Hope you holiday away went well....pics looked awesome.

Yes, it can be - the mohair content isn't for everyone. It's very soft, but It can be irritating/itchy. It irritates me, I can put up with wearing wool but I couldn't wear this round my neck. As a jumper it would be fine. Some people will feel itchy just from looking at it for sure haha. Stuart

@@TheWoolpatch Hey Stuart, just got around to a proper comment. I LOVED that jumper on you, so colourful and such an amazing inspiration to take it from the pattern into something so colourful. Loving the growth in your filming and editing, you are creating quality content I was most taken by the chevron scarf, I would love to make it, (and wear it!😎) but am not sure I will have the patience for knitting this year with so many projects half done (phds) to do. It's been a difficult week and your new episode was a bright spark, thanks.
