Jason is a master artisan and craftsman. His work is as much art as it is restoration. His attention to detail is unsurpassed. Amazing how he knows all the intricate details of a Shelby GT500.

I grew up in a Ford Fairlane 1969 and I'm telling you it did not have this trim level this is one beautiful car Jerry.

All 1967's had Ford's Deluxe interior, which included the brushed aluminum and a real wood wheel.

That interior looks amazing. You can't imagine how much has to be done to put everything together unless you do it yourself a few times. We are lucky to watch the steps and process before our very eyes. The dash cluster just has a special look of the GT500's.

I was so blown away by episode #8, I wrote my 1st ever comment on KZbin… Likewise, #14 has my head spinning! Not only has Jason been blessed with the God given talent for this, THE ONLY WAY to attain his level of knowledge and expertise, is an entire career of not only doing it, but continuing to learn and evolve!! As a comparison, you can earn a normal bachelors degree in an avg of 4 yrs, you can become an attorney in around 7 yrs, and a minimum of 10 yrs to become a doctor. How long to become a world class Shelby Mustang restoration expert? A LIFETIME, that’s how long!!! Hat’s off to you Jason, you’re a true professional in every sense of the word!!

Heat up the door panel clips with a propane torch, just hot enough to melt the foam. Try it. Be careful on standard door panels. You can melt the vinyl. It doesn't take too much heat. Best how to mustang restoration video I've ever seen. What multi talented man. Well done

Bolting a steering wheel to an engine stand makes it easy to apply primer and paint. You can rotate it for even coverage as you paint. Love this restoration!

I’m not knocking this restoration at all. What Jason is doing is incredible! He is a great restorer!!! I watched a channel the other day called my mechanic and he’s restoring a Datsun 280z. The level of restoration he’s doing is incredible. He’s using all original parts and rebuilding them at his shop on lathes, mills etc. He took apart the steering rack last video and dismantled every piece of it then by hand made new ball joints to work with the original Oem parts. I would love to one day see someone do a Shelby or something like that by replating all the nuts and bolts and the broken bolts making new ones on the lathe even grading the bolts to exact hardness like this guy over there.

Unless your doing it yourself that would cost way too much. Main cost for Jerry will be the labour. Getting charged 100s of hrs for cleaning and painting nuts ang bolts isn't cost effective.

This was just like my dad's family car back in the early 70s except his was yellow with black interior. As a kid I was stuck in the car waiting for dad, all the time. I knew the interior of the car like the back of my hand because I was so bored. Thanks for the memories.

Yes, it has been a very exciting project that worried me at first. Now, I want to do another project and I'm looking for another car. If anybody has an older Shelby out there, I'd be interested. Or, an older Porsche, like a 356 series. Or?

Beautiful car. I'm a big Ford fan all my life. And it's been interesting watching this restoration. Can't wait to see it finished and hear it run. I would have to assume that there are covers for those seat bolt holes under the floor pan?

Question Was the wiring harness changed for a new one or did you use the old one?

If that is not in this video it's in the next one. There is more than one wiring harness, so yes and no.

It's when you see how a car from yesteryear was put together by the guys in the Ford factory that you realise that there was almost nothing of them compared to the cars of today. I stripped most of my 1972 Ford Escort Mexico to almost a bare shell during its life as a Rally car and it was 'exactly' the same technology as the Cobra, right down to clips and screws. The Escort had a shielded handbrake cable rather than a bare cable pull but other than that, anyone who had worked on one car could have easily worked on the other. When I look at my Audi S3 of today, I wouldn't know where to start on things like removing the dash, there is just so much more involved in it. Jason is a true craftsman with a little bit of a Wizard thrown in for good measure.

How Ford could think it was a good idea to replace the lovely brushed aluminum of the 67 DeLuxe interior with the tacky faux wood wallpaper in 68 still puzzles me. Beautiful job Jason, this series has been great Jerry.

Thanks for your kind words, Mark. I agree on the brushed aluminum. My guess would be they had a meeting on how to save money. I call them the "smart guys." They get together and try to save the company money.

Too each his own... I think the brushed aluminum looks too industrial - like it should be out on the front of a building or something. I like my fake wood in my 68!

When he re-drilled that hole for that screw for the door panel, you can tell, when he tightened that screw up it stripped the threads. I would not have re- drilled that hole.

I get it. You are using the reflector or light to help illuminate the area of work interest. I appreciate your conscientious consideration. But in my opinion, it doesn’t work. The ability for modern video capture is such that it’s not needed. It’s a very horrible distraction, and it actually blows out the detail that I believe it’s meant to illuminate. It adds an awkward and unprofessional field to otherwise excellent video production. Thank you for all you do, and for considering my suggestion for improving your videos.

Yes, but that's the only way I get a penny for this work. I know that the commercials are usually related to either my interests or what the video is about.
