Do the JAK Wardens Suck After the Nerfs? | (Before & After Comparison)

The JAK Warden Kit for the Lockwood MK.2 was nerfed for Modern Warfare III Multiplayer yesterday and today, I wanted to share all of the details with before & after comparisons as well as my thoughts on these changes and the current state of these akimbo shotguns. The Lockwood MK2 has access to the CS15 Scarlet Cylindrical Laser because it's a marksman rifle, which means it's still possible to reduce the Wardens' standing hipfire spread to zero. Not exactly ideal, but still fun for "pre-aiming" corners or if you're able to pause for a bit before firing at longer ranges. It also works on the slugs, turning the Wardens into akimbo "marksman rifles." With the laser and slugs, the Wardens no longer need a choke for minimizing standing hipfire spread, so the SA Schweigen DX suppressor can be added to boost the slug velocity without much of a downside. Getting a "OHK" on somebody out past 50m with them is hilarious, but without magnification and having to stand still before firing makes this setup a fun party trick instead of practical. Watching people pick up the CS15 laser+slug Wardens and try to use them without realizing what they're dealing with is also hilarious.

i tried to use the scarlet laser for the longbow with jak tyrant and having to stand still was too punishing especially when you get hit and flinch. still fun beaming fools but you'll never be top of the scoreboard

The Scarlet Laser which reduces minimum spread to near zero, but you need to stand still for like a second or tap your movement option to retain the smallest spread possible. The Crown Breaker Choke, in combination, reduces the spread to zero.

@@CalebMay-bf1ci Yes it does. "Scarlet Laser". Most people don't use it bc it gives you a massive moving hipfire when you move, close to sniper rifles. But when you stand still for a second, it reduces spread to near zero. If you wanted, you could use it like a hardscoping sniper.

I think its a good change. Majority of the games I've played had people using this aftermarket part and it was ridiculous because of how tight the spread was because it was like a slug without the slug rounds and because of that the range potential was too strong. So with the nerfs it keeps it in place. It still is strong, just cant stretch the ridiculous range with it

What pisses me off most about these nurfs is that they don't even tell people. Plenty of times I unlock a weapon and use it and think it's amazing set up classes for it , come back to the game and feel like something's off. Sometimes I know it is right away but other weapons I don't until weeks later I find out why I've been unable to kill anybody with a God damn thing. I wonder how many weapons I liked originally and made a class with and now they suck but I just keep using them thinking they're still as good as they were back then. This buffing and patching s*** was a good idea at first but now it's just gotten out of hand. They do it so often that it almost doesn't even matter what you do one weapon you like this week will be garbage next week in a weapon you didn't care for last week will be good this week. They are there basically just trading all the stats around between weapons. I'm getting really sick of it either bring the weapon out balanced or don't change it once you bring it out . I'm tired of every time I play this game having to go back and research all the patches for every weapon in my classes because something feels off about them. Attachments on my gun that were previously good now are garbage it's f****** ridiculous to be Frank.

Yeah shotguns are supposed to be good that's why people use them. That's the problem with these video games in the first place. Ars are medium too long, snipers and light machine gun should stick strictly be long. You're own logic completely goes out of the window when you consider most of the snipers in this game can have low magnification zoom scopes, or a Red Dot or even no scope. Plus also be built for speed, thoroughly making them more effective and close to medium range than a shotgun. Modern warfare 2 had some of the best shotguns of all time and still the AR SMG and snipers outclassed them. Having a weapon that has a limit on range in itself is a huge negative, when a person with a shotgun see someone outside of their range they literally have to run away or just accept their fate. And have to play strategically to where they stick to areas where their weapon is good. People act as if it just all happens by chance

The change the Warden & some of the other conversion kits need is some of the attachment slots opened, the Warden for example, at best, only 2 or 3 attachments are worth equipping, there should be more options for it as well as the other kits.

It was fun while it lasted. I personally haven't had a problem with them in my games. Also having the spread that thight required some level of aiming. However it's true that the range was way off. I haven't tried them yet after nerf but from what I see they now are just right.

If you use the laser that has 100% while not moving you can make them feel like before the patch. i found a fun way to run these if you slide cancel (slide then press jump, and let go of the stick) you will have 100% accuracy again. I call it the CSGO laser. Been nasty in search turn a corner sliding cancel let go of the left stick and shoot it i will be 100% again and is very viable to use

I think that the Wardens are fine now. Though I wish they'd just reduced general range rather than pellet spread which in term makes them more inconsistent in general, they're more in line with the rest of the guns and still the best (and coolest) shotguns by far.

Crown Muzzle, That one laser that helps sliding accuracy and Slugs are close enough to pre-patch without the "Stop moving for like a second, then shoot" from that one other laser, as you can still move and your spread is not going to go haywire, sure, it's not going to kill at 30m, but those 15m are not bad at all, and yes, I would've rather just get a nerf to the general range and just slightly tweak the spread instead of the big spread change, but hey, doesn't make them less cool, right? 😅

Not sure why this nerf in particular, these things are still REALLY good up close lol, the only difference now is that the spread is locked to minimum 1 degree, and it’s easier to hit shots. If anything, they kinda buffed these at close range.

Honestly. Still very much reliable but no longer busted with it's 29M 1 shot range. I mean, that was crazy. I dont get why they have the Incendiary ammo when it doesn't help the gun at all, and very unlikely, you will never fire towards vehicles or killstreaks. Just add the dragons' breath ammo type instead for fun. The range values would actually keep it in check as is already. Anywho. Overall, a very fair nerf, not nerfed into the ground but nerfed enough to keep it in check. Still a reliable weapon in QC and fun to use.

I just wish we increased the sprint to fire on shotguns overall. Shotguns are so weak despite their overall limitations. When compareed to snipers the other one shot kill weapon they actually feel a los more incosistent even at vlose range that snipers. I would just like them to balance the shotgun as a more close quarters running ans gunning weapons.

You absolutely right. In mw2 i was using shooties n all the other weapons as well, having fun, but now they nerfed them till the ground. Wont even bother using it to challenge against an smg player with way better sprintout time. Would be nice to give ppl the variation of weapons with competitive stats, like the marksmans back in mw2, pistols even the launchers. Now they force us to use only machine guns. I was having a lot of fun using these in their previous state. They may have been a little excessive but the game was actually fun to play for once. Taking away the fun factor is pretty much in line with their doctrine of taking away something unique in the name of balance. Who cares if the player base is having fun. The developers don't want us to have fun they want to have balance.

Been using these in resurgence since they came out and I’ve only ran into like 5 people using them. I’ve seen more people using riot shields and melee weapons, which are far more broken than the wardens. Even in multiplayer I’ve yet to be killed by them because nobody really uses them. Nerf wasn’t really needed tbh. They are still pretty good after the nerf though.

If you play the small maps playlist every lobby eventually devolves into 24 shotguns because they can 2 shots anywhere on the map

@@thekillah24th I don’t think u do. The gas grenades are diabolical I’ll give u that lmao. Riot shields have quite a few counters. My lobbies are usually filled with people using the BP50 and the DG 58. It’s a melt fest every game. Lot of people using the Bal and there is always that one super sweat with the MCW because they struggle to control recoil with any other weapon.

@brycenlee I'm used to the MCW & Rival spam from people who can't think past ranked play or meta. No Lockwoods no wardens would be my ideal lobby otherwise it becomes shotgun snowball until everyone has a shotgun in there hands.
