In case you do end up reading this: If you get EMF 5, Ghost Orbs, or Spirit Box as your first evidence, or get a combination of either 2, turn off the power ASAP because it might be a Jinn. When the power is on, they have a speedboost that is much higher than the Revenant's. They also have a much easier time locating you.

Here's a tip to avoiding dying like these lovable idiots. Try to keep the team's average sanity at least above 50%. Ghosts cannot enter their hunting phases unless you pass that threshold and the setup timer is out. Demons, Mares and Banshees are the exception to this with Demons capable of hunting at below 65%, Mares can hunt in either below 40% or 60% depending on whether the building lights are on or off respectively. Banshees just don't give a shit about Sanity and can hunt one of you as soon as the Setup timer is off. So if you are playing at Professional, just chuck the crucifixes through the door before entering to lower the chance dying from instants hunts the moment you step in.

a few small tips for professional 1. always keep lights on unless you are looking for orbs or trying to use the spirit box, sanity drain is much faster on professional 2. use the thermo to find the room the ghost is in, in Celsius it will drop to 11-12 initially and in Fahrenheit it'll drop to 50-55 initially 3. always have an escape plan, run to the farthest room the moment a hunt starts, always close doors, and if you can hide behind multiple doors that's even better 4. when hiding the only things you need to worry about are staying quiet and keeping your head hidden from direct view of the door as the ghost looks for your head to path to, you can keep your flashlight on as an indicator, the ghost isn't attracted to the light
