Heya! Dev of Steam 'n Rails and Create: Numismatics here, thanks for showcasing our new mod! It's been in development behind the scenes for about 9 months now, so we're so happy to see everyone enjoying it so much. In the future there will be proper ponders to explain the various blocks, but in the meantime my hastily written tooltips will have to do :P. As for how you obtain money - we didn't want to include a method by default as most methods would lead to infinite inflation or no growth at all, so we decided to leave it up to the server owners to add quests, item drops, loot table rewards, etc for the various coins you can obtain so that each server can regulate its own economy. Hey, here's an idea How about a coin eerrr cog operated steam clutch or gear or whatever its called I forgot. So you know how you can turn the machines off and on with it, well how aboout a cog operated one, so what happens is you put a cog in and the amount/price is how long it will operate for. So for example say I have a mixer or a mechanical press, so while I can turn it off and on myself, the coin operated one allows people to pay for the use, so for example they imput the lowest "amount of money" they get the shortest amount of time, while if they imput the highest "amount of money" they get the longest amount of time, and you could even have two types just like the depositors, one that has a set fixed amount per time, and another where the player/owner can gauge the price per time. So think about those coin operated laundromats, but well not and in minecraft create. Because I think it would be a really great idea for there to be a way to "sell" power, so that way since there's a depositor for redstone there is one for actual create devices. Another idea a toll booth so these would be for railways so this would be a set of blocks I suppose, the first important one being a toll booth, so this works, well as a toll booth, so if I built a railway and put a toll booth on it it works just like a railway signal, but you have to pay for the train to continue and again I think it would make sense for two types, one that uses a simple distance per money calcuation (i.e. the longer or shorter the track the higher or lower the price), and another that just has a "fixed" price (i.e. stays the same price no matter the distance, changeable by owner/player) And the other part I would base off of the card thing, so its a block you add to the train that can either hold a set amount of money, or it can be hooked up to a bank account and the funds are taken/put into there. The last part is a train money vault this works just like a shop block thing, but for entering a train, so this would require a new item a train ticket (or whatever you want to call the,) and how it works the owner of a train gets a shop block and fills it with the new tickets, and a player buys a ticket and then uses it on either a depositor or the train money vault on the train which then allows the train doors to open. On the other side though for the ticket to work the seller has to connect two (or more) stations onto the ticket and then connect it to the train money vault. And there could be two versions of this a regular train ticket and an _express_ train ticket. So the regular train ticket does a simple distance per money calcualtion, while the express ticket is set by the shop block thing. I hope these are grand ideas you will consider for future endeavours.

@@jackalenterprisesofohio You could use the depositors and redstone to delay a signal for a length of time (to turn on the power, or continue a train), though It would be useful to maybe be able to use a comparator on the depositor for rough amounts of money? I think the current system is customisable enough though to let people do this themselves. Though a train ticket system of some kind could be really interesting.

@@kcoolthegamer In vanilla yes, the economy is basically emeralds, however on servers (which is where the mod in the video would be used) most of them use diamonds as currently mainly due to them being non-renewable and fairly rare (but not to rare it's impractical), emeralds on servers do not work as you can fairly easily get inifite with villager trading. I understand where you're coming from, but in this case, they meant diamonds.

One idea that I had that I don't have any skills to achieve was to have the ability to construct and sell multiblock structures. Like I love the idea of making a Create factory that just manufactures like airplanes for example. Numismatics introduces the currency system, and a bunch of other mods have multiblock structures so that's possible.

You could use a depositor to allow access to a room with a built airplane in it, and a button inside that opens the room up and lets you fly the airplane off. The inside button that opens the room could also flip a circuit that disables the depositor somehow (I dunno, just drop a wall in front maybe), so people couldn't accidentally pay money for a room that doesn't contain an airplane.

If I put this on a server I'd make it a diamond-backed currency, so I'd have some sort of central terminal where you can exchange 1 diamond for 1 cog, and vice versa, staking the value of a cog on that of a diamond. Representative money is always more stable than fiat money, which is what this would be if you just handed it out from an admin. Obviously it'll still undergo inflation as players advance, but it'd still be relatively stable.

I think backing spurs with copper would be a better idea. First off, the sprite of the spur is clearly made of copper, Second off, gold is used in many other areas besides "it's rare so we will have paper that says you own some of it," such as dentistry, coating for space shuttles, some awards and jewelry are still made of it, and most obviously, circuitry. Copper also fills many different roles in Create, and it's basically just as common as gold in Minecraft, so it would make more sense than diamond. You would actually have to decide whether you want to use your copper as money or to use it in your factory.

If you can make a literal money generator (as opposed to a figurative one that you need to engage in trade to operate), you don't have a currency, you just have hyperinflation.

9:16 You want the door to keep open until someone enters and then immediately clonse. Create has a Powered Latch redstone block (single block RS flipflop). Also place tripwire behind the door. The depositor is connected to the rear (Set) input, the tripwire is connected to the side (Reset) input, and the door is connected to the output.

Can't wait for the next video man! razziel did such a Great job with this Mod, it'll make a Great Addition to and Mod List that I'm working on to have actual KZbinr's and VTubers Play Minecraft with their Own Communities as they Establish their own Nation's and Fight Wars amongst themselves. If you want a more Vanilla/Medieval Method of Trading, then the Merchant Villager from Talhanation's Villager Workers Mod is what you're looking for! Set Trades up in the Interface as well as a Path to Travel and a certain amount of time to stay in one Spot to Trade and you'll be Raking in those Emeralds, Gold Ingots, and even the Occasional Diamond or whatever item you want as Currency! Create: Numismatics almost sounds like a Mod where you're basically in Mathimatics with VTuber Akuma Nihmune LMAO! One thing's for sure, is that In-Game Marriages and Divorces are going to get a Lot Messier! "I'm James Scalzo and I approve this Message." Actually everything that has value, believed by the people that it has value, and really hard to obtain naturally can become a currency. I tried to form an economy inside our server once using vanilla items. I use several unobtainable items to create bank notes, I use netherites as standard value. Granted that netherite is easy to mine in the nether, and to avoid hyperinflation, i set portal tax and modified the netherite spawn count to make it just rare enough to make it feels like you searching for gold in real life. It was a success at first, but unfortunately the server dies down because we don't have enough players to make the money into full economic rotation 😂😂
