I don't know if I'm getting old and I don't have the cleanest mouth in the world but my goodness do these young ladies not realize how horrible they sound with the MFS in the constant stream of f*** this and f*** that. If I recall and there was a time when I swore like a trucker but only in certain environments. Definitely not in taping a video that I was putting out to the world. My language tone down immensely when I had my kids unfortunately my daughter picked it up anyway. I certainly enjoy myself more without a constant stream of curse words coming out of my mouth.

So, many moons ago, when I was 10 my grandma, who was once a hairdresser fifty years ago, noticed my bangs were making me like a sheep dog; they were too long in covering my eyes, but not long enough to tuck behind my ears. So she decided to trim them; the problem is, she had TERRIBLE rheumatoid arthritis in all of her fingers. So I’m not sure how she managed to hold scissors. So she cut them…..and to say it was uneven was an understatement. My dad decided to then “fix” what she did, and cut my bangs so that they barely reached the middle of my forehead. I was miserable, so he took me to the hairdresser’s. The hairdresser took one look at me and then at my dad and said: “Dr. Brooks, I promise to never diagnose a patient if you promise to never cut hair again.” 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️. My yearbook picture taken that year was after my dad “fixed” my bangs but before he took me to the hairdresser. And for Christmas that year we made ornaments for our parents with a cutout of that year book picture. Fast forward to my mom and I putting up the Christmas ornaments the other day, and she took out that ornament with the yearbook picture with those bangs, paused and then grimaced: “Ooooh that was a rough year wasn’t it honey?” 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤣

If there is one thing I have learned from this (and many other) hair cutting videos it is to use PROPER HAIR CUTTING SHEARS!!!!! I trim my own bangs regularly and boy oh boy does it make a difference to use the proper tool. Really that goes for just about anything in life... Use the proper tool for the job! The overall lesson learned from Hair Buddha: For anything other than bangs trim, I go to a professional! I spent the better part of my teens and 20s doing my own hair at home and thus walking around with awful bleach and color. Never again! Finally at the age of 40 I have learned that it's just a better result to go to a pro. It can be expensive (I like fun, bright colors) but its worth every penny. Thanks for another fun video Hair Buddha! ❤️

Not relevant to this video, but I bleached my hair last night, and just wanted to thank you for the advice to use Schwarzkopf BlondMe with 20 vol. Seriously like the Cadillac of bleach, my fine hair didn't even get tangled by it. I used to always use quick dead with 40 volume 🙈 I didn't know there was any difference between bleaches 😂. I know I should have gone to a hairdresser, but it's hard to fine one to trust. Anyway you're my hair hero 💖

In Britain, we say “fringe”. I trim mine between hairdressing appointments. I have proper hairdresser’s scissors and I learned how to do it properly by paying careful attention at the salon! And I never cut too short. Took a long time to learn to do it right.

I remember learning to call them that when I was in Britain. I really enjoyed learning all the different words for things. I'm Canadian. There was a couple times where the word difference messed things up for me, ie I remember some issue with what we call one-way ticket resulted in me not getting the correct bus ticket. But the funniest was when some little kid walked up to me in the common room of a hostel and asked me if I had a rubber. Here, that is a slang word for condom.

Omg the drama! 🥳 The problem you are having ladies, is your hair has a memory of being parted straight down the middle away from your face. You need to give it time to get used to laying Forward or parted more to one side. I was a teenager in the 80’s.~90’s. Everyone had bangs. Some teased and sprayed to death so they were 4-6 inches high! (Guilty 😂) My hair was long, permed, and Julia Roberts Red!!!

I've had bangs for most of my life and trim them myself. It's not that hard. I've cut them too short at times but after a week or so, they've grown in to the proper length. Whenever I get a haircut and the stylist asks if I want them to trim my bangs, I say NO! The one time I let him do it (right before my wedding)- he totally ruined them by cutting way too much- back into my hairline. Two years later, I'm still waiting for those pieces to catch up the the rest of my hair length. Never again. I'll continue doing it myself.

Ok, first of all, I’m fangirling on Hair Buddha 😍 he’s adorable! I’m having a terrible time with my bangs. I can’t go to the salon because my fat a** broke a salon chair once and that’s a humiliation I would rather not relive. My forehead is too big so I don’t like letting my hair grow out, but I don’t know how to get bangs at the right length. At the moment the entire length is driving me nuts in general. I had found a really great video on how to layer your own hair, but suddenly my hair isn’t looking as good as it used to. I can’t cut it because I look awful with short hair. 😩 I’m at the point of almost going in and getting a pixie cut, I just hate to do it because of my weight. I just know I wouldn’t wear it well.

Fun fact, the word for bangs/fringe here in my area of Germany is “Pony”. Like the English word for a young horse. A pony. 🐴😂
@SuperJJx3 жыл бұрын
Pony is a size description, sometimes breed/type description, has nothing to do with age. A baby horse is a foal, a one year old horse is a yearling, any (intact) male horse under 3 years old is a colt, any female horse under three yeas old is filly. I agree, weird name for fringe, in English the ponytail typically goes in the back.

She was about the graduate. I explained to her whats I Wanted, she delivered. I now have my bangs to the side, its swept to the left and allows my "floof" hair to be curly and cute. I can do have shaven, I can keep it all short but this part etc. Im free! Now I did go in for a haircut and a girl was asking me questions. I was like I don't want 'bang bangs" she was confused, I Explained I don't want anything in front, she laughed and called them bang bangs from then on.
