The largest bank robbery in history didn't require guns, masks, or threats. It was all done with careful planning, perfect timing, and a few computer keystrokes.

Remember reading about this in the Financial Times when it first came out. I think the FT was the only outlet that did any kind of real reporting on this. Every other news outlet put up click-bait headlines without actually reporting any information (as has unfortunately become the norm). I am glad you did this episode and provided an in-depth recounting of what should have been a bigger story at the time.

New operating systems and hardware have low-power modes and continuous use optimizations, in this way theyre like smartphones: an occasional auto-restart, plus hibernation state for couple of hours that are peak low usage, and that's how everything will function best. Also, most corporate workstations nowadays would probably be log-in portals for Virtual Machines/Virtualization technology (as another commenter who responded said - monitors for 24/7 servers - either on-site server rooms or cloud computing.

You don't have to comment on Trump's view of The Interview, I'll do it for you. It's horrendous. The fact that people elected this fascist sympathizer to lead our country is beyond foul. If you can't tell that a guy like this is untrustworthy and not worthy of office I don't know how you have managed to survive up until this point, but you probably won't last much longer. I find it hilarious that some people were surprised by Trump's behavior in office. It's just like, what did you expect? If you know anything about North Korea, they don't give a shit about what the rest of the world thinks of them. They were not offended, they were threatened. They were terrified that the movie would leak into North Korea and undermine their regime based on information fabrication, regulation, and fear.

Boy what a shock you're in for once you realize that the answer to that question as being: but, you see, there is no difference! You see, those are both the same things! As the other commenter stated, transaction history would be an important factor for determining whether the number which the System shows for an account balance is "real money" (originally typed into the program by a central bank like the Federal reserve, etc.) or "fake money" (no legitimate transaction history a.k.a. being displayed as the result of a hacker using glitches/exploits/etc.)... Fiat money is not like the gold standard as previously used, with reserves backing it up; nor like Cryptocurrencies which are tokenized, with "1" crypto being a verifiable and unique object of data that's differentiated from any other random text character "1" or whatever...

I am a bit confused about something. You said the robbers cashed out their chips and left the casino with millions. Was this in physical money the casino gave them? If so, why would the casino give them so much cash and not send it to the "gamblers" bank account? Someone wanting this much cash should be a red flag. And if by cashing out their chips it means it was sent to a bank account, why was this not traced?
@joez.2794
@joez.2794 Жыл бұрын
The minute word goes around a casino "doesn't pay up," they're finished. In this world, "doesn't pay" means _any_ impedance to "legally" giving you your money, exactly how you want it. If you want to require amounts above a certain limit to be transferred to a bank account, then you need to codify that into law so _every_ casino has to abide. Because if it's merely a suggestion or just something you do out an "abundance of caution," the high rollers will avoid your casino like the plague.

Lazarus also employed the same tactic on Ronin Bridge Network and stole $620M worth of crypto asset. craziest part? the whole amount was generated by a Pokemon like game. An employee rreceived a fake LinkedIN job offer and had backdoor installed to his PC which also happens to be one of the Validators that holds X amount of keys and you only needed, at that time, 4 of the 7 to gain access to the network and move funds. All block chain has a backdoor access that is implemented to prevent malicious manipulations and will slowly be closed when the Etherium block chain is done with all its upgrade.
