My son and I have been playing TAB on the PS5 for the past 6 months and have been loving it. The controls are not as difficult as you might think... the zombie swarms remain near impossible though lol They get me every time, even on 22%

The game is fun, but unforgiving. 1 little zombie that you overlook can cause chaos in a couple of seconds which drives me insane. I just bought Alien Maurader (which is in early release and basically a sci fi rip off of They Are Billions) and it was nice that (unlike They Are Billions) infected buildings don't spawn creatures which can overwhelm you in a second (plus it autosaves so you can roll back to right after the last swarm attack).
@CJM44Ай бұрын
I guess it depends on what you like. Personally, I like that They Are Billions is so difficult in that aspect. I wouldn't like just being able to redo a little bit of the game because I messed up

Is it only available on steam or can it be bought as a physical copy?

@@boriscovidscamson2911 there is a physical PS4 copy but only in japanese. There are rumours it will be picked up by a LRG company in the future for an english release

No save game and easy loss to 1 zombie slipping through are just unforgiving. Love the city-building + army-raising + tower defense + zombie theme, but this is just too difficult.

Good review and it's a brilliant game. Replaying the campaign on 800% on console and I'm having a lot of fun despite many failures... 🤣

Thank you for this review! I was about to give this game a go, I love the idea but I had no clue that you could lose hours of work because of one mistake, that makes it a complete hard pass (and frankly bulshit) thanks for saving my money.

I personally loved the mechanics, but the balancing of difficulty is almost nonexistent. This game abusively relies on the player entertaining the sunk-cost fallacy and I just didn't get any sense of enjoyment out of it.

It can be a little slow but regardless it's so fun. You can always bump up sensitivity and stuff like that.
@Simone-xe9cw Жыл бұрын
This game plain sucks, there's no fun in redoing hours upon hours of stuff you got right to try to fix that single issue that led you to disaster the game before. This is another of those kind of games that you can flip completely if you approach it by having seen tons of strategy/tips videos beforehand. Artificial difficulty bs. The campaign isn't even worth reviewing imo. Edit: nothing that an age of empires 2 or generic rts mod couldn't do way better.
@Wimpiethe3 Жыл бұрын
That does not reflect my experience. A simple guide wont do. You will have to practise and the random map element will change every map in how you play it. What recourses you have, what risks you can take, what area is defendable at which point. Not to mention the many settings you can customize. I at least find the learning curve quite steep. And I'm used to playing starcraft 2 1v1 for many many hours grinding the ladder. But then again i'm a diamond scrub (P and Z). So not that good haha. Plus I play no pause. The one mistake reset is very true. But that simply reflects many games in the rts genre when you play competatively. Console controls however I would not wish to try.

@@Wimpiethe3 SC2 and its base of fake modest ppl thinking their impression is some kind of seal of approval... Rts games that don't give you space to adapt and respond to different situations with different approaches are simply as bad as this game.

@@Simone-xe9cw You seem well adjusted. My bad for not picking up on that earlier.

@@Wimpiethe3 i think you got a Point linking the missing save option with competetive Multiplayer. This is Build to have fun getting better at the Game, not completing it by reloading. It’s just an other way to have fun with a strategy Game. And if people dont like this sort if fun, it’s not for them ;) For the swarm!
@000Krim Жыл бұрын
Great reviews but the game is 2/10 it have scenarios that last for several hours without save, only close and save, you can't speed up the game , you can't reset the points expended in the skill tree and. Roguelike can do this and be fun when a scenario take less than an hour. The developers is aware of this issues and explicitly refuse to fix them. In conclusion do not buy.
@CJM44Ай бұрын
That's the point of the game. Also tech points only lock in once you complete a mission in the campaign and there's nothing saying you can't save tech points.
