It seems that through taxation and various expenses, it's becoming harder and harder for the middle class to earn a decent living and have money left over at the end of the month.
In this video, I'm going to take you on a morning walk around my neighborhood and discuss whether it's better to earn more money in a Western country or take a hit and earn less money in a non-Western country.
Along the way, I'll show you around my neighborhood and share my thoughts on the cost of living in both Ireland and Thailand, where I've recently spent some time.

The back breaker in the west is you are taxed on income and then taxed again on everything you buy it never ends.

The difference is you can live super cheap in Thailand if you really need to. Get a fan room for 5000 baht a month (£120). Eat on 5 quid a day. If you had to. It’s like an insurance policy. You just can’t live cheap in the UK unless you want to freeze through winter and be truly miserable.

Very well said Brett, I live in Ireland myself and you get robbed from the minute you walked out the door until you go to bed. I'd much rather earn less including a less stressful life but not be any worse off.

Brett you're dead right, it's not the amount of money you earn, it's the quality of life you get from it. I hate the UK with a passion and glad to say this is my last year of living here. Cheers for another great uplifting vid.👍

I was only gone from the states for 8 months and upon my return EVERYTHING had skyrocketed. The inflation has gone insane. And I haven’t noticed any wage increases to match that’s for sure.

Just come back from a one month stint in Thailand and the Philippines working as a digital nomad while enjoying the countries - best of both worlds. I would highly recommend those that can work remotely to get out of the UK and travel to SE Asia. I am now back in the UK and already feeling depressed so off again in March.

in Ireland you are being taxed 43% on all your ETFs which you haven't sold (after 8 years), because they "assume" that you sold them. Ridiculous...
